About: I’ve cared for pets personally as long as I can remember. After losing my beloved toy fox terrier, I’m excited to spend time with more loving animals. It’s the best of both worlds where I get to play with pets without being too tempted to take them home. I’ll make sure your pets get lots of entertainment and attention. I’m currently working part-time and have the flexibility to help take care of animals. Sometimes I’m out of state for work and will update my availability in advance. To check-in on animals I like to ensure they have enough food and water immediately. Then I would abide by the appropriate instructions- whether that’s go for a walk or letting the pets roam in the backyard. I’d be happy to take the pets on a long walk or short run. If allowed, I’d even spend some time at a local dog park.

Gunjan and Surabh were kind enough to accept a last minute request for the day care. They have a huge yard- which is a very pet friendly, for the furkids to explore or exhaust themself. They spent ample time during the initial assessment to understand our pups quirks and requirements. She is very playful and keeps us on toes and they were quick to understand and care for her as we would. We felt comfortable leaving our pet with them and will continue to access their services.
Overall, I think my dogs (two cavapoos) were well cared for while we were away for 5 nights. I know that they ate and I received updates at meal times. But Astrid was not able to accommodate crating them at night and for a few naps during the day. The crate is their safe space and also creates routine for potty training but she would not take the crate. But she did take their dog beds. I would have appreciated better communication about walks and if they were interacting with Astrid. I am not sure if they got much human attention or if they were taken for walks (or just let outside occasionally). I received a photo of them in diapers which I thought was strange and could mean she wasn’t taking them out. Since they don’t know what diapers are, they could end up holding it and getting an infection. Astrid said it was because it was raining and one of the dogs peed in the house and she could not walk them in the rain. Personally, I walk my dogs even if it’s raining and would expect a dog sitter to do the same. But she did take the diapers off when I expressed concern. Overall, the dogs came home well fed and reasonably happy but at a minimum, communication could have been better so I could be sure they were taken for walks and I knew what other dogs were present and how they were all getting along.
