“Alyssa is the absolute best! She was very communicative, kind, and treated our dog like one of her own. She made sure he was comfortable and well adjusted while we were gone. I especially loved all the pictures and notes she sent of how our dog was doing throughout his stay. We would absolutely book with Alyssa again!!”

“This was our first time ever leaving our puppy over night and we were so anxious. Madilynn kept in contact with us and sent pictures and videos to ease our minds. We will use her anytime we are in the area from now on!! Thank you so much for caring for our baby.”

“Jack loves Laura and her house. She is friendly and warm and Jack runs into her house to see his friends. I have appreciated using Laura’s services because she is kind and caring to my dog.. I continue to use her above others bc I always feel Jack is safe, loved and cared for!”

About: I've had dogs and cats my whole life with different needs and personalities, I've also had family and friends come to me to take care of there pets. I'm currently working part time at a jackson animal clinic, i work 5-6 hours a day about 4 days a week. My schedule changes every week. I have a fenced in yard with two cats that are very friendly. Trust i will have full attention to your pet and make sure their needs are met.
“Rebecca did an amazing job taking care of Gizmo. She made him completely at home and a part of her family. Gizmo got lots of cuddles - which he loves! Rebecca sent photos during his stay so we could see how well he was getting along. We could relax and enjoy our trip since we we’re confident that Gizmo was so well cared for.”

“Excellent communication. Very flexible. Provided updates with plenty of photos. Our dog had a wonderful time and was exhausted from all of his playing with other pups.”

“Wonderful experience!!! This was our first time using Rover, and our first time leaving our dog with someone outside of family and close friends. I am a nervous dog mom, and I really didn’t want to board her in a kennel. Angie seemed like a perfect fit, and meeting her confirmed our good choice. She sent daily updates and pictures. Our dog was so well taken care of, and we could not have asked for a nicer family. Smoochy was excited to see us when we picked her up a few days later, but she didn’t seem in a hurry to go home either. I think she would have been content staying indefinitely 😂. Angie is a wonderful communicator and it’s clear their family and home is a pet-friendly haven. Would highly recommend and will definitely book with them again if we are back in the area.”

“Briah did a great job with my dog. She took him on many walks, showered him with love and kept me updated with pictures and messages. My dog looked happy and well taken care of when I picked him up, and now every time we walk by Briah’s place he wants to go in. It was also very easy to communicate with Briah, I certainly would recommend her to anyone and I am going to book her again.”

“We love taking our pup, Josie Mae, to stay with Brittany and her family. They take such good care of her, which makes our time away from her less stressful. Brittany is also good about sending pics and updates to see how much fun she is having with them! She is the best!”

“Misti provided good updates with cute pictures of my dog! She is a senior dog who needs lots of medications but I felt comfortable leaving her in Misti’s care. Will definitely be booking with her again in the future!”

“Angelica was great to work with. We had a pre-meeting at her home to introduce my dog to her pets. She made sure her pets were secure when we arrived for drop off and gave my dog time to settle in. She sent regular updates and pics. She even sent us home with a clean dog pen. Will definitely use Angelica again and recommend her highly!”

“We had an amazing experience with Nicole and her family. She was so responsive, flexible, and communicative through the whole process. She has an amazing back yard with plenty of room for the dogs to run around. We received updates and pictures throughout our dogs’ stay, and it was clear they were completely loved on by her and her family!”

About: For 13 years, I owned a company providing pet care for many clients! For the last 8 years, I took care of my parents full time until they passed. I waited until I found the perfect house to turn into doggy paradise! I work for a nonprofit Vet clinic and for 13 years, I have arranged my life around a rescue dog that doesn’t do well staying at home alone! I don’t think it’s fair for pet parents to spend money for their dog to be locked in a cage. My dogs have never had to and yours won’t either! I work from home doing scheduling for a vet clinic 3 days a week. I have designed my life to be at home for my furkids and now yours too! I have a fenced yard am expanding our fence to include .78 acres! This summer, I am adding an all seasons room with dog doors for the pups and a gazebo for the dogs who love being outside to stay cool. I also have a she shed that is being upgraded for dogs that don’t like to share sleeping space with others or need some alone time. Lots of fuzzy beds, people beds with stairs and ramps. I literally bought this house for the dogs!

“Repeat customer, Susan and her family are awesome! They are flexible with drop off and pick up, very communicative during the visit, and are so friendly.”

About: I've been taking care of dogs and cats for 20+ years! Animals are typically very comfortable in my presence and warm to me quickly. I am comfortable with caretaking for senior pets (my cat that recently passed lived to 16 years old) and with the needs and training for new puppies. I am self-employed and create my own work schedule, so with a day or two notice, I can typically work your needs in! My job requires me to be out in the car often, so I am happy to stop in and check on your pets. Please note that in the evenings and weekends, my son may join me. He really enjoys helping. If your pet does not like children, just let me know in the booking request. I have a fenced in yard at home. At your home, I will take the utmost caution to make sure your fur babies are safe and comfortable and respect any guidelines you provide.
“Stephanie was quick responder and saved us from a very stressful last minute cancellation from another sitter. She sent lots of pics and updates from the weekend, putting as at ease. Would highly recommend her! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

First time using Samantha. She sent daily updates with photos, which I really appreciated. Greta and Cash had a great time and loved the playtime and attention from her kids. They were exhausted when they got home LOL. We will definitely use Samantha in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MO ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
