“Rebecca was great! She was very attentive during our quick meeting to show the animals and their specific needs and genuinely cared for all their special needs. Throughout our trip she sent pictures of the pets and kept us updated on matters regarding the house/pets. Overall, she took great care of the house in our absence and was so nice to take all my wife’s Amazon packages inside.”

About: I am based in San Francisco and will travel to other cities in California if I can get there by public transportation. I travel by e-bike and public transport. I am an honest, reliable, trustworthy person who takes responsibility seriously. I will take great care with your beloved animals and with your home. I love animals of all kinds and have looked after cats of every temperament, many breeds of dogs as well as chickens, turkeys, goats and fish! I feed, play and groom animals according to your instructions and always love to give pets extra love and attention. Frequently, both dogs and cats who are not friendly right away, or who may be shy or reserved, come right over and cuddle with me. Many pet parents are happily surprised when they see this happen! I am an artist and a real homebody and spend most of everyday in the home with your pets. I'm constantly taking photos and videos and will send the cutest ones to the "parents." I would do the same for you! When you have an overnight sitter, your home is protected by having someone there while you are away and pets get to feel the safety and comfort of being in their own environment, reducing the stresses of transporting them, boarding them with other animals they don't know and other discomforts of being in an unknown environment. I will be in the home most of the day, every day and can play with your pups and your kitties as much as they crave! I love caring for animals and spending time with them! And while I am sitting for you, your pets' well-being is my number 1 priority! I am always keeping an eye on things and making sure everyone is healthy, safe and feeling loved. :) I make caring for your pets and your home a priority in every way! I pay attention at all times to all the animals under my care to make sure everyone is healthy, happy and feeling loved and safe! I follow your instructions regarding feeding, playing and grooming.
“I’ve already left one review for Ellie but have to leave another one as she’s become my go to sitter for Pax! I’m comfortable w her in my house and w my baby. Super easy to communicate with, always respectful of my space: I no longer have anxiety when I leave town and that’s such a nice change.”

“Parker watched our 2 dogs and 1 cat at our house while we were out of town, and took great care of them. He provided photos and updates to let us know all was going well. We would happily hire him again. Thanks Parker!”

“Our kitty became sick from stress while we were out of town. Liz did a great job taking care of him, checking his status, and keeping us updated on how he was doing. She went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable and safe.”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, and I absolutely love being around them. Whether it’s going for walks, playing, or just hanging out, I genuinely enjoy their company. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies who are still learning the ropes to older dogs who need a little extra patience and care. I’ve also cared for multiple dogs at once and am comfortable with dogs of all sizes and breeds. I always try to make every dog feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re with me. I’m available almost every day Monday through Friday, so pet care fits really well into my weekly routine. I love being around animals and make time for walks, playtime, potty breaks, and check-ins throughout the day. Whether your dog needs a daily walk, some company while you’re away, or extra attention as a puppy or senior dog, I’m happy to help. I treat every pet like they’re my own, whether I’m caring for them in my home or yours. I pay close attention to their routines, make sure they feel comfortable, and follow any instructions you leave so they get the care they’re used to. My goal is always for both you and your pet to feel comfortable while they’re in my care.
“So grateful to have found Erin! She was so wonderful with my two dogs over the holidays! She sent me several updates throughout the day & left my home spotless. She has such a warm spirit & loved on my boys so well while I was traveling. I can’t recommend her enough!”
“Emma stayed with my cat Patrick for a week while I was in another state for work. Patrick needs some special attention and takes daily medication. She did a great job making sure he was taking care of and comfortable! Additionally, she communicated with me well and made sure to send me some pictures every day!”

“Mackenzie house-sat for our 2 kitties and golden retriever while we were out of town for a wedding and everything was great! I appreciated the communication, pictures and love she gave our fur kids while we were away!”
About: I’ve been around animals my whole life, raising my first puppy on my family farm at 10 years old. Since then, I’ve worked professionally in a boarding facility where I supervised group play, monitored behavior, and made sure every dog stayed safe and comfortable. I also have hands-on experience in a shelter environment, working with animals of all temperaments, including shy, reactive, and high-energy. This has taught me how to read body language, build trust, and adjust care to each individual’s needs. I focus on creating calm, enriching experiences for all kinds of animals, whether that’s a structured walk, playtime, or just giving your pet the patience and attention they deserve. Please let me know if you have any questions in booking me for your next walk or stay! Caring for animals is something I intentionally build into my weekly rhythm. I am typically available Monday through Saturday and have a flexible, open schedule, so I can give pets the time and consistency they need throughout the day. I also run my own art business, which allows me to work independently and stay flexible. This means i’m able to be fully present for each visit, whether that’s a long walk, playtime, or a calm check-in for more sensitive pets. I prioritize safety, trust, and a calm environment in every home I enter. I take time to learn each pet’s routine, boundaries, and body language so I can care for them in a way that feels familiar and low-stress. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of both the space and the pet’s established routine. I’m especially mindful with shy or reactive animals, giving them patience, space, and gentle consistency to build trust. My experience in boarding and shelter environments has taught me how to read behavior, prevent conflicts, and create a safe, secure environment for pets of all temperaments.
“Jenna was great. Super communicative, very attentive during the meet and greet, and sent regular updates for both my pets. I would definitely have her house sit again!”

“At our meet and greet, my first impression of Daniel was, he has a very calm demeanor. Murphy is a very large and energetic dog. Daniel didn't flinch when he came barreling in towards him. He stayed with Pebbles and Murphy for 3 days. He was very early the first day. His communication is OUTSTANDING! I received so many pictures and updates. He even took out the trash! On one day, one of the dogs had vomited before he got here. He sent me pictures and asked what I'd like him to do. The next text I got said that he cleaned it all up, and that there were towels in the trash that he brought with him. He is so prepared, punctual, responsible, and trustworthy. I'm so glad I found him on Rover. I will most definitely book him again if he's willing to come back. I can't say enough good things about Daniel. I was able to relax and truly enjoy my time away with my new grandson and not worry about our fur babies. They were in excellent hands.”

Allie went above and beyond. She kept our dogs safe, happy, and loved, sent regular photo updates, and her communication was excellent. The house was cleaned up perfectly when we returned. We would 100% book her again and recommend her to anyone needing a pet sitter!

If I could leave Marianna a 500 star review, that still wouldn’t be enough. I needed last minute care due to a medical emergency, and she not only accommodated my need with less than 18 hours notice, but she did so with a level of care for my kitties that I have never experienced before. Within 15 minutes of her arrival, I had photos and videos of all of my babies (which is no small feat in itself), and she continued to provide multiple updates, photos, and videos. She was so so so loving and gentle with my kitties, stayed with them all day and overnight, and gave me the comfort and reassurance I was desperately needing. I will absolutely be hiring her every time I need a sitter moving forward (hopefully sans the hospital stay and ideally for a fun getaway instead). Thank you so much, Marianna. There are not enough ways to express my gratitude!

Elizabeth was absolutely wonderful, and we couldn't have asked for a better house and dog sitter. From the very beginning, she was communicative, reliable, and clearly cared about our dogs as if they were her own. We have a new French Bulldog puppy who requires a lot of extra attention, frequent potty breaks, and a consistent routine, and Elizabeth handled everything flawlessly. She also took excellent care of our older Frenchie, making sure his Farmer's Dog meals, supplements, and daily routine were followed perfectly. Beyond caring for the dogs, she went above and beyond taking care of our home. She kept everything incredibly tidy, the kitchen and dishes were spotless when we returned, and even made sure our plants were watered. Coming home to happy dogs and a clean house made all the difference after traveling. One thing we especially appreciated was her communication. She sent us daily updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind knowing everyone was doing well while we were away. We wholeheartedly recommend Elizabeth to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, attentive, and genuinely caring. We will absolutely be booking with her again in the future!

This was our first time using Rover and our first time working with Christina, and as people who are new to town without a pet-sitting network yet, we were understandably a little nervous leaving our home and animals with someone new—especially for a 10-day international trip. We could not have been luckier to find Christina. From the start, she was kind, friendly, professional, and incredibly reassuring. She cared for our crew as if they were her own: two border collies (one very outgoing BC who demands constant attention and one shy, anxious BC who prefers to be hand-fed) plus a nocturnal, vocal cat. She handled every personality with patience, understanding, and genuine care. Christina communicated consistently and thoroughly, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Because of her, we felt confident leaving for such a long trip—and we returned to happy, well-cared-for pets. Not only has Christina become our trusted pet sitter, she has truly become a treasured new friend. We would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for exceptional care, professionalism, and kindness.

Kylee stayed in my apartment over the weekend and was absolutely amazing with a dog who cant be around kids or other dogs. Extremely response, overall super nice person. I came home and my freaking bed was made and the dishes were done!!!!! I mean come on, I dont think my dog was the one that did those things. This is someone you want with your dog.

This was our first time having Ella come to our house and watch our 3 boys. She did a great job. Sent pics throughout the weekend. Walked our energy filled 4yr old Aussiedoodle and communicated so well with us. We’ve already booked more dates with her. Thanks so much Ella.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Parkville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Parkville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Parkville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
