“Rebecca was great! She was very attentive during our quick meeting to show the animals and their specific needs and genuinely cared for all their special needs. Throughout our trip she sent pictures of the pets and kept us updated on matters regarding the house/pets. Overall, she took great care of the house in our absence and was so nice to take all my wife’s Amazon packages inside.”

About: Recently graduated from Mizzou, I have spent the last 2 years helping to care for our house pets, including two cats and one dog. I worked to feed, walk, and engage with my pets during this period. Prior to this, I lived and cared for many animals back in my hometown: 3 dogs, 2 guinea pigs, 2 parrots, and a turtle. Because of this, I deliver versatile care, and understand that every pet has its own unique needs! I work 2 part time jobs, both in healthcare, where my hours are stacked on certain days of the week. This gives me flexibility to help care for your pets! Though each week can be a little different, I have my schedule set throughout the summer and can plan far ahead! I have such a big heart for animals! I love giving them attention and care above and beyond what's expected. I prefer to do this in a house sitting situation due to having 5 other roomates with animals here, but I have a car and am willing to do overnights!
“Lilly was so great! She kept me updated with photos and stayed responsive throughout the stay. She left my home as she found it and even took the trash out! There was a crazy storm during her stay and she assured me the pups were safe and well cared for. Would love to use Lilly again!”

“Ellie was great with my pup while house sitting! I got daily updates with pictures and videos and she left my apartment very clean. Will definitely be re-booking in the future!”

“Bre has house sit and watched our pups a few times now and always does a great job! She is great with all three of our dogs, quick to reply, and sends pictures and updates throughout the day! Would definitely recommend if you are looking for someone to watch your pets!”

“Here’s a polished, glowing review you can use: ⸻ Laurie was absolutely incredible! She stepped in for us at the very last minute and handled everything with such calm professionalism. Our dog, Archer, can be a bundle of nerves, but Laurie had the patience of a saint. She treated him with so much kindness and understanding. We are so grateful for her flexibility, her gentle approach, and the genuine care she showed. Highly recommend Laurie to anyone—especially those with anxious or high-energy pups. She’s truly the best!”

“Elizabeth was great! We had never used a pet sitter before and I was slightly nervous despite the fact that my daughter owns an independent pet sitting service on the West Coast. Elizabeth exceeded our expectations and was a joy to work with. She sent us updates and photos throughout the week. Our cats are shy and she was able to bond with them. I really can't say enough great things about Elizabeth and her care for our pets. I'll definitely use her again!”

“savannah did great taking care of our dogs over the 4th of july weekend 💕 i really appreciated the photos & updates. left the house looking great and even went above and beyond on the dishes! thank you again 😊”

“Alyssa did a great job with our anxious doggies! They seemed very content when we came back from our trip which is a testament to how well she did with them and how comfortable they were with her. We will definitely look to her in the future!”

“This was myy first time with a dog sitter and it was beyond my expectations! During Jennifer's meet and greet she took copious notes she shared them with me later. During her stay she was in constant communication which I preferred. Here's where we went beyond she played sniff and puzzle games with my dogs. Helped make adjustments with potty time to greatly reduce accidents that I was struggling with and taught one of my dogs how to sit nicely and not beg during treat time. I highly recommend Jennifer!!!”

About: I grew up on a farm with many dogs, cats, and other animals. In my adult life I have owned a cat, many dogs and a beta fish. I have worked and cared seniors, along with their animals, the last 6 years. I'm currently looking for a job so I have plenty of time to care for your animals. I am single with no children or animals at home so I have a lot of flexibility to come to you. I will follow whatever instructions you give to me to take care of your animals. Also if I am staying in your home, I will respect all of your rules.
“Jenna was great. Super communicative, very attentive during the meet and greet, and sent regular updates for both my pets. I would definitely have her house sit again!”

“Karen did a great job dog sitting for me at my house. I have two doodle mixes with very different personalities. I got pictures of them every day and they were all taken care of when I arrived home”

“This was our first time leaving our rescue dog with a sitter so we were a little nervous, but she warmed up to Kellie right away! Kellie was very patient with all of Annie’s quirks and also put up with our temperamental cat so bonus points for that. She was very communicative and sent us updates. We came home to happy and healthy pets. Highly recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Platte Woods
Out of 6+ years of rovers for my dog, Bre is by far the best we’ve ever had! She is so sweet and extremely loving and attentive of my dog! She’s also amazing at sending updates during the stay, which is sometimes hard to find. They went for a lot of walks, cuddled together and he was comfortable overnight with her in our house. I would recommend her to literally anyone, she is our go to every time!

Liz cared for our two Chihuahuas and our home for six days, and we felt completely at ease while we were away. She kept us connected with photos, and it was clear that our dogs loved being with her. When we returned, they were peaceful and happy, the house was just as clean and orderly as we had left it, and even our outdoor plant had made it through a week of 100-degree heat because of her attentive watering. We could feel how much care she had given everything here. We’re so grateful to Liz and would absolutely trust her with our dogs and home again.

Rebecca sent daily photos of the dogs without me having to ask. They were always enjoying themselves in the photos and seemed comfortable with Rebecca. We came home to our house just as we left it, and our dogs happy + healthy! We would recommend Rebecca to others!

Allie went above and beyond. She kept our dogs safe, happy, and loved, sent regular photo updates, and her communication was excellent. The house was cleaned up perfectly when we returned. We would 100% book her again and recommend her to anyone needing a pet sitter!

Roselynn house sat for us and watched our year old kitten. Belle is usually very shy around new people, but warmed up to Roselynn immediately. We got updates and pictures while we were away which made us feel very relaxed and happy. She is extremely trustworthy and not only took great care of our kitten, but great care of our house. We came home to a very relaxed and happy kitten!

Ellie was fantastic! She took such great care of Mina and went above and beyond by cleaning our home, so it was spotless when we returned from vacation. She was an excellent communicator, kept us updated throughout our trip, and sent plenty of pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend her!

Lilia was amazing with our rescue pup, Berkley! She is super calm and kind - we could tell our Berkley already felt comfortable around her the first time she met her! She sent us many photos throughout the weekend. She was very communicative and professional. We would recommend her to any friend or family member!

This was our first time using Rover and our first time working with Christina, and as people who are new to town without a pet-sitting network yet, we were understandably a little nervous leaving our home and animals with someone new—especially for a 10-day international trip. We could not have been luckier to find Christina. From the start, she was kind, friendly, professional, and incredibly reassuring. She cared for our crew as if they were her own: two border collies (one very outgoing BC who demands constant attention and one shy, anxious BC who prefers to be hand-fed) plus a nocturnal, vocal cat. She handled every personality with patience, understanding, and genuine care. Christina communicated consistently and thoroughly, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Because of her, we felt confident leaving for such a long trip—and we returned to happy, well-cared-for pets. Not only has Christina become our trusted pet sitter, she has truly become a treasured new friend. We would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for exceptional care, professionalism, and kindness.

Kylee stayed in my apartment over the weekend and was absolutely amazing with a dog who cant be around kids or other dogs. Extremely response, overall super nice person. I came home and my freaking bed was made and the dishes were done!!!!! I mean come on, I dont think my dog was the one that did those things. This is someone you want with your dog.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was our second time booking Jonathan, and Dalek immediately recognized him and was so happy to spend time with him while we were away. It says a lot when your dog is excited to see his sitter! Jonathan is calm, dependable, and clearly great with Dalek. We’re very grateful to have found someone we trust.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Platte Woods walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Platte Woods maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Platte Woods choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
