Caring for animals is something I intentionally build into my weekly rhythm. I am typically available Monday through Saturday and have a flexible, open schedule, so I can give pets the time and consistency they need throughout the day. I also run my own art business, which allows me to work independently and stay flexible. This means i’m able to be fully present for each visit, whether that’s a long walk, playtime, or a calm check-in for more sensitive pets.

I like to learn as much as I can about each pet ahead of time so I can keep their experience as familiar and low-stress as possible. It’s helpful to know their routine, feeding schedule, energy level, and any little quirks or preferences that make them feel comfortable. I also like to be aware of any medical needs, medications, allergies, or past injuries, along with how they typically interact with people and other animals. For shy or more sensitive pets, knowing any fears, triggers, or behaviors to watch for really helps me move at their pace and build trust in a gentle, respectful way.
A typical day
Every day looks a little different depending on the pet. For dogs, I love combining structured walks, sniff time, and play, with quiet breaks so they can relax and feel settled. For cats, I focus on gentle play, enrichment, and meeting them at their comfort level. I enjoy incorporating enrichment like puzzle toys or sniff-based games when it fits the pet, and I always pay attention to their energy and mood so nothing feels overwhelming. My goal is for pets to feel safe, engaged, and genuinely cared for while you’re away.

I’ve been around animals my whole life, raising my first puppy on my family farm at 10 years old. Since then, I’ve worked professionally in a boarding facility where I supervised group play, monitored behavior, and made sure every dog stayed safe and comfortable. I also have hands-on experience in a shelter environment, working with animals of all temperaments, including shy, reactive, and high-energy. This has taught me how to read body language, build trust, and adjust care to each individual’s needs. I focus on creating calm, enriching experiences for all kinds of animals, whether that’s a structured walk, playtime, or just giving your pet the patience and attention they deserve.
