“I’m afraid to say too many good things about Kevin because I am never going to be able to book him again! He is an absolute king when it comes to senior dogs. My dog is relatively easy, but as she is older, she can definitely have her moments. Kevin showed incredible patience, care, compassion, and love. I cannot recommend him enough. He is a great match for my “Fluff”. We will be booking again!”

“I was so nervous because I typically fly my dogs to my mom‘s cause I don’t trust anybody with my babies! So so happy my mom found Nina on here. I don’t treat my dogs like dogs. I treat them like my actual children. lol so it took a lot for me to drop them off. Nina made me feel so comfortable. I love the constant updates with pictures and videos throughout the day. It was extremely comforting. She took amazing care of them. They were very content and so happy. Can’t thank her enough!!”

“Christopher was very professional and I could tell that our dog felt very comfortable with him. We will definitely use him again! He also seems to enjoy what he does and is very organized and makes you feel assured that everything is ok with great photos and feedback.”

“Tigh helped us out so much by adding these 2 extra days with Nico! He is a fantastic guy and so great with Nico. Loved seeing our pup so happy and healthy when we returned from our trip!”

“Tony was amazing with our Sheepadoodle Califern. We ran into a pinch over the Thanksgiving holiday and needed to find coverage quickly and Tony delivered. He was flexible with Cali's needs and sent me updates with pictures during the stay. We joke that our dog is like our child and we're not kidding that we would talk about her nightly if she were ok and missing us. Having communication and pictures helped us know she was in a good space. I'd highly recommend boarding your dogs with Tony. He was awesome. --Tom”

“Renee was great! Very prompt and attentive and took care of our cat Snacks for a few days. He was in excellent hands and we got great photos while we were out and status reports. Definitely will call on Renee again to house sit our furball!”

“Elaine was great! She was very responsive and shared pics of our pup throughout her stay. Our pup was very happy when we got home and I could tell she took very good care of her while we were away! Would definitely use her again.”

“It's not easy to trust someone with your pets and home, but I'd feel 100% comfortable booking Sarah again. We got lots of pictures of our dog out on all kinds of walks and adventures with Sarah. Our shy kitty even came out for belly rubs from her. Our house was spotless when we got home. Thank you Sarah!”

“Desiree did an amazing job looking after our little guy. She met with us prior to watching him in our home and eased his nerves. We look forward to working with Desiree again.”

“We were in PS for a long weekend and didn't want to leave our pups alone when we went out for the evening. Dennis was just terrific with the girls - they loved him and he's clearly a dog lover. We definitely plan to reach out again when we are next in PS.”

“I cannot say enough good things about Eric! He came over to meet my stranger-danger pup a few days before I went out of town and has above and beyond to make sure my dog is safe, comfortable and well cared for while I’m gone! The updates I’ve gotten throughout my trip have reassured me that they are having a great time while I travel. I’ll definitely be having him pet sit again!”

“Barbara was fantastic with Brutus and Brighton. She sent lots of photos, was communicative, flexible when our schedules shifted, and a pleasure to trust in the home. Thanks, Barbara! We will book again soon.”

“My gosh what a wonderful young lady she took the most beautiful care of my animals and my home. Erika is a wonderful selection as a house sitter. I will absolutely hire her again.”

“Emma is fantastic! We have an almost 13-year-old doodle with a lot of anxiety, so we’re very particular about who we trust with her. Emma handled Tutu so perfectly that she warmed up to her almost immediately…which says a lot! Emma was incredibly communicative, kind, friendly, and clearly knew how to make Tutu feel comfortable and safe. We’re also very picky about who we trust to stay in our home, and we felt completely comfortable with Emma. If you’re looking for someone you can truly trust with both your pet and your home, I can’t recommend Emma enough. We’re so happy we found her and will absolutely be using her again!”

“Roman is everything you could ask for from a dog/house sitter. Emma so enjoyed him and he completely kept our minds at ease while we were away. Roman gets our highest recommendation and is our first choice for the future.”

Kevin was an outstanding house and pet sitter. From the start, he was reliable, communicative, and easy to work with, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. He took excellent care of our home and treated our dog with genuine kindness and attention. It was clear he were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Kevin also kept us updated with messages and photos, which we really appreciated. When we returned, our home was clean, organized, and exactly as we left it. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend Kevin to anyone looking for a trustworthy, responsible, and caring house and pet sitter, and we would gladly have him sit for us again.

Erica was amazing. We found her last minute when our faithful pet sitter was out of town, and she quickly stepped in to help. She came to our home, met little Missy, and took wonderful care of her. Erica kept us updated with photos and let us know how Missy was doing throughout the day, which gave us so much peace of mind. We would highly recommend Erica to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter.

Andranise dogsat Conan for 3 nights in our home and she treated him like an absolute prince! I loved getting pictures and videos of their time together. When Conan’s happy, I’m happy! He loved their time together. And I appreciated Andranise’s flexibility with my schedule when I ran into flight delays. I highly recommend and trust that my dog is in caring hands with Andranise!
Molly was a great help to us on short notice when another house sitter we had scheduled had to cancel due to a family emergency. Two of our dogs have medications and special feeding needs and Molly was very attentive to the instructions and made sure to repeat them back to me to make sure she understood what i was telling her. The girls were very relaxed and happy when we returned, the house looked just as we left it and I would recommend Molly to anyone else in need of a pet/house sitter.

Larry was an awesome companion for our Frenchie. He managed an introduction w the dog. And we went on a walk together prior to the home sitting w our baby. Larry kept us updated w pictures and was wonderful in making sure Balhoo felt secure, safe and loved. All in our familiar surroundings. I would recommend Larry as a fantastic pet sitter. 5 Star!!! Thanks again Larry.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Palm Springs walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Palm Springs maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Palm Springs choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
