“Phia was AMAZING!!!! The complete package in pet sitting and house watching!!! She walked the pups, played with them, fed them and picked up poop!!!! She also tidied up the house. Which was completely of her own kindness. Will absolutely book with her again!!”

“I would highly recommend Dawn. She provided house-sitting and care for my 2-year old Jack Russell Terrier and I couldn't be happier with her services. She was very communicative with updates and pictures, and respectful of my home. I feel confident that she cares very deeply about animals, and treated mine like her own. Dawn went over and beyond simply doing a "job;" your pets will be well taken care of!”

“Noah was awesome! Kind to my furbabies, no complaints from them- 2 paws up. Noah was quick at responding and ready to go on short notice for us. This was our first time using Rover; I'm glad I found Noah when needed. We'll be using him again when the time comes.”

“Summer did an amazing job! She kept me updated daily, letting me know when she was at the house and what she and Roxie did, even including pictures. I will definitely be using Summer anytime I have to travel.”

“Jenna is the best dog sitter I have ever had. She shows up early, puts your pet first, and my dog who doesn’t like anyone loved Jenna. She is a blessing. Also, my house looked better when I came home than it did when I left. I hope I will be able to use Jenna for all my dog sitting.”

“Loarann was amazing!! This was my first time using in-home boarding so I was nervous but she was so sweet and so communicative. I never once had to worry or wonder what was going on which is huge for when you go on a trip that’s stressful enough! I honestly think she left the place better than she found it and was so kind about my house being kind of a sight these days because of renovations. She seems to truly love animals and I will 100% use her again in the future, no question.”
“She took great care of my pup, like it was her own, will definitely book her again, communication was great, updates were given frequently and very respectful of my home with the overnight stay, thank you”

“Amazing service! Our first time using Rover and we really lucked out! Thanks Kristi for taking such great care of our pups and kitties. It was so nice to go away and know they were well cared for. We will definitely rebook!”
“Jenna made us feel so comfortable leaving our new puppy for the first time; she was attentive to our explanations of his routine. Her manner is gentle, kind, and friendly. Our puppy was happy and bouncy when we got home! We'll definitely book Jenna again. It's such a relief to find someone you feel safe having in your home, that you sense you can trust. Highly recommended.”

About: If I’m being completely honest, I’m a bit of a helicopter dog mom myself. I’m very selective about who I trust with my own dog, so I understand how important it is to find someone who will care for your pet the way you would. I promise to treat your fur baby with the same love, attention, and care that I would expect for my own. Animals have always had a special place in my heart. Just ask my husband—I’ve rescued baby squirrels and bunnies, and I’m constantly worried about every stray or wild animal that crosses my path! 😂 I’ve been caring for dogs for over 10 years through pet sitting for family and friends, and I’ve been a proud dog mom for more than 7 years. Whether your dog loves long walks, belly rubs, playtime, or simply having someone nearby, my goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. As a teacher currently enjoying summer break, I have a very open and flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. Whether your pet needs frequent potty breaks, extra playtime, medication, or just someone to keep them company, I have the availability to provide attentive, personalized care. When caring for pets in a client’s home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I know pets are often most comfortable in their own environment, so I take the time to learn their schedule, preferences, and any special instructions before each stay. Whether I’m stopping by for a walk or providing in-home care, I’ll make sure your pet receives plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, fresh water, meals, and, of course, lots of love. I’m happy to follow specific feeding schedules, administer medications if needed, and send regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
“Chelsea did a great job watching our doggies while we were out of town for the. day. It was very comforting to get the pictures and updates she provided. My wife and I are very happy with Chelsea and we felt are doggies were very safe with her. We will definitely use her services again. Great job!!!”

“Kerry was great to have house sit for Murphy, who is a 12 yo chihuahua. She sent pictures everyday and he looked very content! I would recommend Kerry to anyone looking in the area. I will definitely use Kerry again!!”

“Another great cat-sitting job by My-Linh! I said in a previous review that I wouldn’t hesitate to ask My-Linh to watch Ripley again and I didn’t – hesitate, that is. My-Linh watched Ripley for a second time recently, and it’s clear to me that Ripley really likes her. While I was away My-Linh sent me pictures of Ripley playing with her or just resting comfortably (which Ripley definitely does very well!). As before, when I got home Ripley was in great shape and had clearly been comfortable with My-Linh while I was away. And as before, My-Linh left my home with in excellent condition after her stay. So I again wholeheartedly recommend My-Linh as a pet-sitter and as someone you’ll feel comfortable leaving in your home when you’re away.”

“Matt was amazing!! Our baby wouldn’t eat when we left (he gets extremely sad when we leave), and he went out of his way to get our guy to eat! He went to the store and picked up different kinds of food, cooked him chicken and eggs, etc. And it worked! Our dog also requires a lot of medication and eyedrops, and Matt did all of it. Matt truly went above and beyond, and we know Porky was in such great, caring hands. We highly recommend Matt and will absolutely rebook him.”

“Shannon took excellent care of my dog Romeo. He is a highly reactive dog slow to warm up to strangers. Her calm demeanor and willingness to be patient with him worked out. We will have Shannon take care of him again.”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Pace is $43
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Pace
We had an excellent experience with our house sitter. They were reliable, communicative, and took great care of both our home and pets while we were away. We received regular updates and photos, which gave us peace of mind throughout the stay. Our pets were happy, comfortable, and clearly well cared for when we returned, and our home was left clean and in great condition. We would absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive sitter.
Alyssa did a wonderful job. She sent pictures of my babies and I could tell they were being very well cared for. She was very good with communication throughout her stay which I really appreciate. She is an excellent sitter and I would definitely have her back again.
Michael was absolutely phenomenal ! I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone for dog sitting. I received photos of all the dogs going on walks and playing with a frisbee in the backyard all the days we were gone. Thea, our rescue, was abused before she was adopted and she warmed up to him very quickly and was included in all activities the two other dogs were doing.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pace walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pace maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pace choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pace. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
