“Sophia took wonderful care of our 3 fur-babies. We were kept up to date and provided lots of pictures while we traveled. She followed our care instructions perfectly and went above and beyond our expectations!!”

“Noah was awesome! Kind to my furbabies, no complaints from them- 2 paws up. Noah was quick at responding and ready to go on short notice for us. This was our first time using Rover; I'm glad I found Noah when needed. We'll be using him again when the time comes.”

“Julissa was wonderful with my dog. Lots of pics and Tucker was cuddled up to her giving kisses! I will definitely use her again and again, such a sweetheart, very professional!”

“Stephanie watched our cat and dog at our house over the holidays and did a great job! She spent a lot of time with our animals and gave updates/pics. We appreciated that she took in our mail, brushed our dog, and even cleaned a Roomba vac that ran over a pet mess. Highly recommend!”

“If you're trying Rover for the first time like we were, I can't recommend Jenna enough. We chose her because she had more reviews than almost anyone else we looked at, and she still maintained a perfect five star rating. Now we understand why. We were gone on a deep sea fishing trip, and Jenna came by twice to take care of our dog, Ruger. She didn't just let her out for a potty break. She spent time playing with her, throwing the ball, and making sure she got plenty of exercise. Ruger was happy, tired, and clearly well cared for when we got home. Jenna was reliable, caring, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their pets.”

“We could not have asked for a better sitter! She took exceptional care of our dogs and our home, and her communication was outstanding. We received so many updates throughout our time away, which gave us complete peace of mind. She followed instructions perfectly and truly went above and beyond—washing and folding linens, tidying up, and making sure everything was left spotless. Most importantly, our pups were clearly well cared for, loved, and happy. It was obvious she treated our home and our dogs as if they were her own. We would absolutely trust her again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and detail-oriented sitter.”

About: I probably get along with dogs more than I do people. I've grown up with many, and have rescued most of the ones I have owned. Dogs are so much more than pets to me, they are family! They are such a big part of my life that I even went to school to become a vet assistant. However, life interfered and I never acquired my certificate (out of time frame, I passed my tests?). In the past two years, I’ve acquired my CCMA, and am studying now to become an RN. I love taking care of people and pets. :) I have experience pet sitting as well as working at a doggy daycare-one of my favorite jobs! Now I have bigger bills to pay, and children to take care of. However, I loved it so much that I would like to get back into doing this on the side. It’s a win-win for the both of us, because I get doggo lovings, and you get your doggo taken care of!
About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages and sizes, including feeding, walking, administering basic medications, cleaning, and providing lots of attention, play, and affection. I am currently in college so I have plenty of time to care for your furry friends! I am available everyday before 6:30 AM and after 11 AM and free weekends all day. I care for pets in my clients’ homes by following their normal routines as closely as possible. I provide fresh food and water, clean litter boxes, take care of walks or playtime, give medications if needed, and make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away.
“Haley was phenomenal, she was punctual, communication was excellent and was engaged throughout the entire process. 10/10 would absolutely recommend for your fur babies.”

About: I know how it feels to leave your furry family member in someone else’s hands, which is why I provide the same love, attention, and care I would want for my own pets. Your pet’s happiness, comfort, and safety will always be my priority. 🐶🐾 Since I work from home, I’m able to be with your pet throughout the day rather than leaving them alone for long periods. I can keep a close eye on them, give them plenty of attention and affection, and make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. 🐾❤️ Your pet will enjoy a safe, calm, and loving environment. I live in a gated, secure community with its own dog park, perfect for playtime and exercise. I also enjoy walking around the community with my own dog, giving your pup plenty of fresh air, movement, and companionship. I’m happy to follow your pet’s routine and provide lots of love, attention, and care throughout the day. 🐾❤️
“We have met Kari twice now and this is the first time we left her with our dog Lucy. We had a positive experience with her. She is always on time and was nice to us and accommodating. My dog seems to really like her and she was able to follow care instructions for my dog. We would like to continue to use Kari; as a matter of fact we already booked her services again.”
About: Hi! Im Luis & I have over 10+ years experience with caring and loving for doggies. Former Marine , just absolutely love not only caring for dogs, but also ensuring strong client service for dog parents so that they are assured that their pup is great hands while they are away! Huge communicator and care for every dog as if they were mine!
“We had a different rover booked, but he had to back out, due to his pet becoming ill. She happily stepped up and took care of our two dogs and our place. Our dogs are occasionally difficult, but she asked some questions and adjusted to them. We would definitely have her back. Thank you”

“Francesca was AMAZING! This was our first time leaving Birdie with a sitter in a few years and she did a great job accommodating to her schedule. She did a wonderful job communicating throughout the stay as well.”

“The main point was how well the dogs were taken care of. They seemed happy and well taken care of. They weren’t in distress in any way, and we received a couple pictures of them while we were away, which was great! There were a couple things we took issue with, specifically with the house.”

About: What sets me apart is my experience caring for pets with a wide variety of needs, personalities, and routines. I am certified through National Association of Professional Pet Sitters and have extensive experience with multi-pet households and am comfortable caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. I have experience administering medications and caring for senior pets, pets with medical needs, and animals that require a little extra patience and attention. I understand how important it is to maintain your pet’s normal routine and to provide updates so you can feel confident they’re receiving the same level of care they get at home. In addition to dogs and cats, I also have experience caring for birds, reptiles, and small mammals, making me a great fit for households with a variety of pets. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, shy and reserved, or needs specialized care, I strive to provide compassionate, individualized care tailored to their unique needs. As a pet owner myself, I know that pets are family, and I treat every animal in my care with the same attention, respect, and kindness I would want for my own. Pet care is already a central part of my daily routine. I care for multiple pets of my own each day, so feeding schedules, exercise, enrichment, medication administration, and monitoring behavior and health are already built into my mornings and evenings. Because caring for animals is such a regular part of my life, I am comfortable incorporating visits, walks, and drop-ins into my schedule while ensuring each pet receives attentive, individualized care and plenty of updates for their owners. Occasionally available for overnight sitting. I work 6 am - 2 pm I believe pets are happiest when they can stay in their normal environment and maintain their usual routine. During visits, I make sure pets have fresh food and water, receive any needed medications, get plenty of attention and enrichment, and have clean living areas. For dogs, this includes walks, potty breaks, playtime, and exercise tailored to their energy level. For cats and other pets, I focus on companionship, play, and maintaining their regular routines. I also pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and well-being and will keep owners updated with messages and photos so they can have peace of mind while they’re away. My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible for both you and your pets.
“Rona is incredible! She is truly an animal whisperer and will put your dog or cat needs above everything else, including her own. I trust her completely and look to her for advice to get to know my own dog better!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ensley
Chelsea is absolutely phenomenal! She jumped in last minute when I needed a sitter while on vacation. She immediately bonded with my dog and he fell in love with her. He can be anxious and overly excitable, but he felt comfortable with her right away. She made it possible for me to have an enjoyable outing with my family and not be worried about Odin the whole time. I can't say enough good things about her, I highly recommend her!

Dianne went above and beyond while pet and house sitting. We went out of town while our house just went on market and she was so flexible and accommodating while realtors and interested people came through. She left the house just as clean as when she arrived and sent us daily pictures of our dogs. Highly recommend her for pet and house sitting!

Lin is the best dog sitter out there! We are very picky about who we leave our dogs with, especially since one of our dogs is blind and takes awhile to get comfortable with anyone. From day 1, both our dogs fell in love with Lin. She sent us multiple videos and photos a day which we love but are always nervous to ask for more of. She gave us updates, and asked questions to make sure she was giving the dogs and (our house) the best care. One thing I also really appreciated was the communication before traveling about scheduling, dog needs, boundaries, etc. She takes amahhhhzing dog photos and even printed some out for us. When she sent us a video of our older dog playing and cuddling with her, I almost cried because sure she doesn’t do that with anyone but me or her dad! I felt so comfortable leaving our dogs and honestly in Lin’s hands, which made our vacation so much easier and more relaxing. You’d be crazy not to book Lin as a dog sitter. She’s the best out there.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ensley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ensley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ensley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ensley. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
