“If you're trying Rover for the first time like we were, I can't recommend Jenna enough. We chose her because she had more reviews than almost anyone else we looked at, and she still maintained a perfect five star rating. Now we understand why. We were gone on a deep sea fishing trip, and Jenna came by twice to take care of our dog, Ruger. She didn't just let her out for a potty break. She spent time playing with her, throwing the ball, and making sure she got plenty of exercise. Ruger was happy, tired, and clearly well cared for when we got home. Jenna was reliable, caring, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their pets.”

“Sophia took wonderful care of our 3 fur-babies. We were kept up to date and provided lots of pictures while we traveled. She followed our care instructions perfectly and went above and beyond our expectations!!”

“Noah was awesome! Kind to my furbabies, no complaints from them- 2 paws up. Noah was quick at responding and ready to go on short notice for us. This was our first time using Rover; I'm glad I found Noah when needed. We'll be using him again when the time comes.”

“Poet was great. It was lovely to have peace of mind while they took care of the crew. They sent regular updates and pics. Our scaredy-cat of a dog even finally took to them. Everyone looked safe and happy and we would absolutely book them again.”

“Leticia was great! She was always quick to respond and kept us updated with pictures and messages during our time away. Will definitely use her services again in the future! Thanks Leticia!”

About: I have always had a love for animals. I’m not sure where it came to grow from but honestly, I love that I have that love. I studied veterinary technology after I graduated high school, didn’t get to finish but plan to go back once I find a better place to stay. I worked at an animal clinic for 2 years and am currently back at the same one after moving away for a year. I have 3 years experience of being a kennel technician as well as pet bather. I have also dog sat and bathed my family’s pets. Can do anything morning, midday and night. I do have a full time job at a vet clinic so I know everything to look for. I have two friendly dogs that would love to have playmates. I do have a cat that stays away from everyone as she wants her own space. Working in a vet clinic, I know and understand body language well and have a way with dogs.

“I highly recommend Dianne! This was my first time using this type of service and it was for a 2 week period. She was awesome! Took great care in handling my 10yr old dog. I will definitely use her again.”

“Our puppy was VERY loved by Lydia. She sent pictures, updates, and even helped with puppy training. She left our house spotless and even washed dog blankets and her sheets! Lydia is fantastic and we are so grateful for her!”

“Caitlin was a fantastic dog sitter! My husband and I went out of town for a week, and she home sat for our two dogs. She sent lots of photos throughout the week and let us know how they were doing. Our dogs loved her and she took great care of them and the house while we were away. She even vacuumed up which was so thoughtful. Absolutely recommend her!”

“Loarann was amazing!! This was my first time using in-home boarding so I was nervous but she was so sweet and so communicative. I never once had to worry or wonder what was going on which is huge for when you go on a trip that’s stressful enough! I honestly think she left the place better than she found it and was so kind about my house being kind of a sight these days because of renovations. She seems to truly love animals and I will 100% use her again in the future, no question.”

About: I have grown up around animals my whole life. Both dogs and cats. I am also very well versed in training dogs. Training my dog is one of the best parts of my day. I spend a good amount of time training my dog. Teaching my dog new things is one of the best parts of my day. I love working with my dog. I follow the instructions that are given to me. I am a rule follower and what steps are given to me are the ones I take.

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and have years of hands-on experience caring for pets of different sizes, ages, and personalities. I’ve personally owned pitbull breeds, so I’m very comfortable handling strong, high-energy dogs, but I also have experience with small breeds and cats as well. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your animals. I’m reliable, patient, active, and genuinely enjoy spending time with pets whether that means walks, playtime, feeding, medication routines, or just keeping them company. My military background has also made me very responsible, organized, and dependable, so you can feel confident your pets will be safe, cared for, and treated like family with me. I currently have a very flexible schedule and a lot of availability throughout the week. I recently graduated college and am waiting to begin active duty military service, so right now I’m doing side work and pet sitting for extra income while I prepare for that transition. Since I’m living with my sister and have fewer day-to-day obligations, I’m able to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care, walks, playtime, check-ins, and keeping pets company. I’m available most weekdays, weekends, and holidays with flexible hours. I treat every pet like they’re my own and always prioritize safety, consistency, and comfort. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, walking routines, and any specific care requests from owners. I have experience with both large and small dog breeds, including pitbulls, as well as cats, so I’m comfortable handling different temperaments and energy levels.
“500 stars!! Lisa was great while we were Away for an extended period. Dogs and kitty well taken care of, house well taken care of and she went above and beyond and was very thoughtful. We appreciated it so much!”

“Anne is Amazing! She was truly incredible with our dogs. She is warm, attentive, and extremely conscientious. Ann is the REAL dog whisperer! I have never seen anyone so able to connect with our 13 year old dog with advanced cancer. Ann also was able to instantly and expertly deal with a mini-crisis when a opossum was cornered in our fenced yard by our tenacious, energetic, 3-year old hunting dog. I don't know how Ann was able to coax her back into the house without anyone or thing getting hurt. I am sure I never could have handled this as well. I can't recommend Ann enough, She even left our house even cleaner than we left it! Our doggies loved her and I am sure yours will too!”
“Rona is warm, incredibly intuitive, loving, conscientious and responsible. From the moment both my dog and I met her we immediately felt so comfortable with Rona. She brought out such playfulness in our shy girl who is usually quite timid around new people. I had Rona stay at our house and was incredibly responsible keeping me updated, clearly taking such kind and attentive care of out girl and she kept the house immaculate. I felt so safe having Rona who just radiates responsibility. I would recommend her anytime and will be using her again and again! She has a gift with dogs and people!”

Sara was great with our cat, Merlin! I certainly recommend her! She sent pictures of Merlin, stayed at the house to keep him company, fed him, played with him and let him in and out. She even notified us of an impending storm and secured items, plants and umbrellas on the deck. It’s obvious she loves pets and is very conscientious.

Anne was great! This was our first time using rover since moving to Pensacola and we lucked out with Anne watching our two dogs. We had a 2 week trip to Europe and she stayed with our golden retriever and (slightly more difficult) Shiba Inu. She handled both with great care and formed a friendship with the Shiba, which is rare. We had constant communication and she respected our house along the way. Will absolutely be booking again. Thank you, Anne!

Claire did an excellent job watching my two dogs and three cats, she handled my senior chihuahua well and was great about keeping me updated on my two shy kitties. I appreciated her coming before the booking to meet the animals and make sure we all felt it was a good fit. Will definitely use her again and would highly recommend!
Took good care of my pups. Also took them out to run. Very friendly. Only complaint is when I got home, the puppy was out of the cage for around 3 hours and had 2 potty accidents on the floor and also chewed up a few things. The camera also didn’t get plugged back in when she left :/

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred East Pensacola Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in East Pensacola Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Pensacola Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
