Teresa is absolutely amazing. We think they’re the best and so do our pups! Teresa did an excellent job caring for all 3 of our dogs, including our pupper in a wheelchair. We loved the updates and pictures from each visit and will definitely book again in the future!!

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, and caring for them has always been something I truly enjoy. My family has always said that one of my best qualities is how naturally I connect with animals. I have a calm, patient, and loving personality, and I treat every pet with kindness and respect. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing outside, or just having someone to keep them company, I’m happy to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I know every pet has their own personality and routine, so I’ll follow your instructions carefully and give your furry friend the same care and attention I would give my own. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, and my goal is to make both you and your pet feel comfortable. I’ll always provide dependable care, lots of affection, and updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. Pet care fits well into my schedule because I currently work a part-time job, which gives me plenty of flexibility throughout the week. I’ll also be starting community college soon, but I’ll only be attending classes two days a week. This allows me to dedicate time to walking, playing with, and caring for pets while making sure they receive the attention and love they deserve. I’m dependable, organized, and committed to providing reliable care. Whether your pet needs a daily walk, drop-in visits, or extra attention while you’re away, I’ll make sure they’re safe, happy, and well cared for. I understand how important routines are for pets, and I’ll always do my best to accommodate your schedule and your pet’s individual needs. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I always make their safety, comfort, and happiness my top priorities. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, fresh water, medication if needed, and any special instructions provided by the owner. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and affection so they feel comfortable while their family is away. I also keep their environment clean, watch for any changes in their behavior, and provide regular updates so owners can have peace of mind. I treat every pet with the same love, patience, and care that I would give to my own.

Ashley was absolutely amazing. She was able to get all the cats to play with her, even the shy one. She sent photos of them on every visit and spent some real quality time with them as well. We felt completely at ease having her come to our house every day. We knew the cats and home were very well looked after. Ashley was very easy to communicate with and is very sweet. We really enjoyed working with her and will ask again in the future. Thank you, from the Bricenos (And Cleo, Leo & Kevin!)

We have 2 6-month-old kittens, and this is the first time we have left them alone. This was also our first time using Rover, and we were very nervous as we would be 5 hours away if something went wrong. Marissa met us prior to our trip to meet Stormy and Shadow. The process could not have gone any smoother. Marissa arrived as scheduled daily and we received reassuring photos which allowed us to enjoy our time away. We would definitely use Rover/Marissa in the future.

About: 🐾 Welcome to Our Home for Happy Dogs! 🐾 We’re a family that absolutely adores pets — they’re our babies, and we’ll treat yours the same way! Our own furry family includes a longhair Chihuahua we rescued as a pup, a Chow-Chow mix rescued from the woods, and two gentle Great Pyrenees who serve as our lovable outdoor guardians. Growing up with dogs, I can’t imagine life without them, and I’ve had the joy of dog-sitting for multiple families over the years. Your pups will be supervised at all times and safe when we step out for errands. Most dogs love the socialization here — it’s a blast to watch them play and make friends! As a stay-at-home mom, I’m home full-time to care for your dogs with plenty of love, attention, and snuggles. I can’t wait to welcome your furry family members into our home! Our property sits on 15 acres and is home to chickens, guinea fowl, and turkeys. The backyard is fully fenced, providing a safe, fun space for your pups to run, explore, and play. We have lots of dog toys available, so there’s no need to bring extras — we’ll keep your toys safe and avoid any mix-ups. 🕕 Hours: 6am–9pm (Flexible if you need early drop-offs or late pick-ups — just ask!) 🎁 Referral Bonus: Refer a friend who books a stay, and you’ll receive 1 free night for one of your dogs! We’d love to meet your pups and give them a safe, happy, and loving home-away-from-home. Feel free to reach out with any questions — thanks so much for checking out our profile! I'm home full time so we will mostly be here with your fur baby. If we do leave for a playground or errand it's for a short time. I have two dogs of my own for socialization and a crate or separate room if needed if there's a dog that needs a break.

We highly recommend Brandon! He is kind, caring, confident, conscientious, and incredibly reliable! Our dog can't tolerate a kennel, so we did in-home pet sitting with Brandon. He followed our dog's routine and kept us informed with updates and fun photos. Our dog was content and happy when we got home. There was no stress whatsoever during travel...for us or our dog. We're grateful to have found him!

About: I have taken care of dogs of various sizes and ages for more than a decade. Coming from a rural community I always had contact and love for animals and as a young adult I have kept pets and cared for family and friends pets as well! I work in a hybrid role and am able to decide what days I go in to the office. My office is also relatively close by and I’m able to go home when need be to check on a fur baby. I have a fenced in yard and am able to crate your fur baby (as well as mine) if needed! I am typically home more than I’m not and am always happy to spend time with pets.

About: Hi! I’m a huge dog lover with dogs of my own, so I know how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your pets. I offer dog sitting in my safe and welcoming home in Oxford, NC, where your pup will get plenty of love, attention, playtime, and exercise. Whether your dog loves to run around, play fetch, or just relax and cuddle, I make sure they feel comfortable and cared for like family. I also send lots of pictures and updates so you can feel connected and at ease while you’re away. Creating a fun, clean, and safe environment for every pet is my top priority, and I can’t wait to meet your furry best friend! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. Providing a safe environment for pets is very important to me. I have a large yard where dogs can run, play, and get plenty of exercise while always being supervised and monitored closely. Inside my home, I keep a clean, calm, and pet-friendly environment where pets can feel comfortable and secure. I pay close attention to each pet’s needs, personality, and routines to make sure they stay happy, safe, and well cared for at all times.

Ken was amazing at taking care of the dogs! He came on time, stayed for a while, kept great notes and made sure to include pictures (which I love). I never had to worry about whether or not the dogs needed to go outside, get some love and affection, or needed to drink some water. Ken made sure everything was documented so I knew how my fur babies were doing while I wasn't there. Highly recommend and will be using his services again for sure soon!

I cannot recommend Alexis enough! We have a former stray who has only recently transitioned to being an indoor cat, so she can be very shy and particular about her food. I was nervous about leaving her, but Alexis was incredible. They respected her space, handled her specific feeding routine perfectly, and made sure she was safe and happy. If you have a rescue or a timid pet, this is the sitter for you. 5 stars!

  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
