My kitties and I loved Teresa! I had to go out of town last minute and was pretty stressed about finding a sitter and I was able to book Teresa within minutes. She was incredibly prompt with all her responses which I hugely appreciated. I hadn’t used Rover before and she made the entire experience easy and comfortable, I felt totally at ease knowing she was watching my cats!

About: We would love to welcome you to our family! We currently have four dogs and three cats who love playing in our fenced-in yard. I have always had a passion for working with and caring for animals. Growing up, I was raised around all types of animals. My family would rescue, care for, and rehabilitate sick or injured kittens and puppies. I would help clean wounds, bottle-feed young animals, and care for all the animals that came through our home. I also have experience providing emergency veterinary services to various animals. My partner also has a lot of experience taking care of animals. She has worked as a kennel assistant at a veterinary hospital and was a puppy raiser for a service dog. We offer daycare as well as overnight stays. We are comfortable providing medication to your pet and helping make them as comfortable as possible. During your pet's visit, they have the opportunity to play alongside our pets or can have a separate space for themselves. I currently work part-time on Mondays and Tuesdays but am home the rest of the week. My partner works from home, so there is always someone at home to play with and take care of your pets. We are often home all weekend unless we are taking a hike with our dogs. Our home offers a fenced-in yard for your fur babies to explore during the day and walks can be taken around the neighborhood. Our cats spend most of their time in the enclosed porch so they can be away from your pets if necessary and our two youngest dogs sleep in cages at night. We can easily provide a crate for your pet during the day or at night if requested and there is space for them to have their own space away from our pets as well.

About: Hi! I’m a huge dog lover with dogs of my own, so I know how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your pets. I offer dog sitting in my safe and welcoming home in Oxford, NC, where your pup will get plenty of love, attention, playtime, and exercise. Whether your dog loves to run around, play fetch, or just relax and cuddle, I make sure they feel comfortable and cared for like family. I also send lots of pictures and updates so you can feel connected and at ease while you’re away. Creating a fun, clean, and safe environment for every pet is my top priority, and I can’t wait to meet your furry best friend! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. This allows me to give pets plenty of attention, potty breaks, playtime, exercise, and companionship throughout the day instead of leaving them alone for long periods. I’m able to accommodate pets close to my area easily and make their care a priority while keeping a consistent, calm, and loving environment. Providing a safe environment for pets is very important to me. I have a large yard where dogs can run, play, and get plenty of exercise while always being supervised and monitored closely. Inside my home, I keep a clean, calm, and pet-friendly environment where pets can feel comfortable and secure. I pay close attention to each pet’s needs, personality, and routines to make sure they stay happy, safe, and well cared for at all times.

I recently used Kimberly from Rover to take care of my dog, and cats and overall, it was a great experience! Kimberly was very friendly and clearly loves animals, which made me feel comfortable leaving my babies in her care. She provided regular updates and photos, which was a nice touch and helped me feel at ease while I was away. My fur babies seemed happy and well taken care of when I returned, and I appreciated the attention to detail in making sure all of my instructions were followed. Overall, I would definitely recommend Kimberly to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

About: I’m a pet mom of six full grown cats and two dogs. i’ve had them their entire lives. I rescued one of my cats from a ditch in a parking lot. I work early mornings so that I am available afternoons and evenings any day of the week. I am often in Wake Forest, Raleigh, Durham and Hillsborough. Ken was really great for my special needs cat and my reactive dog. He was patient and kind with my dog as she warmed up to him and followed all the little nuanced instructions for my elder cat’s routine. I was gone for four full days and returned to calm and happy pets. This was my first pet sitting experience, and he immediately set my mind at ease. He sent pictures and notes every day. Definitely recommend. Im looking forward to him pet sitting again! Thanks Ken!

About: I have extensive, hands-on experience caring for a wide range of animals—including dogs, cats, rodents, ferrets, and large livestock. I’ve worked with everything from small pets to high-drive working dogs and large animals like horses and goats. Professionally, I’ve worked as a dog behaviorist and trainer, managing playgroups, training dogs of all temperaments, and safely handling high-energy or reactive dogs. I’m confident in my ability to read body language, prevent issues before they happen, and create a calm, structured environment. I have experience training puppies, working with senior dogs, and administering medications. I’m very attentive to changes in behavior or health and know how to respond quickly if something seems off. I also currently work as an Equine Specialist, where I assist with horse care, training, and overall health, including exposure to veterinary care practices. What sets me apart is my ability to handle a wide variety of animals and situations with confidence, patience, and strong awareness of safety and behavior. My schedule is very flexible. I currently work part-time, which allows me to adjust my availability easily around pet care. I’m able to accommodate daytime, evening, and weekend needs, and I’m reliable for both consistent routines and last-minute bookings. Safety and trust are my top priorities. I take time to understand each pet’s routine, behavior, and specific needs to provide the best care possible. In my home, I offer a safe and structured environment with access to a yard, long lines for safe outdoor time, and nearby areas for both private and public walks, including lake and town settings. I use appropriate, safe equipment such as harnesses, gentle leaders, and martingale collars when needed to ensure control and comfort. In clients’ homes, I follow all instructions carefully and maintain your pet’s normal routine to reduce stress. I’m experienced in handling dogs of all sizes and energy levels, and I always prioritize calm, controlled, and positive interactions.

About: 🐾 Welcome to Our Home for Happy Dogs! 🐾 We’re a family that absolutely adores pets — they’re our babies, and we’ll treat yours the same way! Our own furry family includes a longhair Chihuahua we rescued as a pup, a Chow-Chow mix rescued from the woods, and two gentle Great Pyrenees who serve as our lovable outdoor guardians. Growing up with dogs, I can’t imagine life without them, and I’ve had the joy of dog-sitting for multiple families over the years. Your pups will be supervised at all times and safe when we step out for errands. Most dogs love the socialization here — it’s a blast to watch them play and make friends! As a stay-at-home mom, I’m home full-time to care for your dogs with plenty of love, attention, and snuggles. I can’t wait to welcome your furry family members into our home! Our property sits on 15 acres and is home to chickens, guinea fowl, and turkeys. The backyard is fully fenced, providing a safe, fun space for your pups to run, explore, and play. We have lots of dog toys available, so there’s no need to bring extras — we’ll keep your toys safe and avoid any mix-ups. 🕕 Hours: 6am–9pm (Flexible if you need early drop-offs or late pick-ups — just ask!) 🎁 Referral Bonus: Refer a friend who books a stay, and you’ll receive 1 free night for one of your dogs! We’d love to meet your pups and give them a safe, happy, and loving home-away-from-home. Feel free to reach out with any questions — thanks so much for checking out our profile! I'm home full time so we will mostly be here with your fur baby. If we do leave for a playground or errand it's for a short time. I have two dogs of my own for socialization and a crate or separate room if needed if there's a dog that needs a break.

About: I’ve had/been around many different types of dogs my entire life. My family would always want me to come over and train/watch theirs animals for them like I was the go to person for anybody who got a new pet. I also use to volunteer at a boarding company to help feed/walk the dogs. I currently do doordash so I can pretty much fit any request in to my schedule. The most amount of time I would be away would probably be around 5-6 hours. I’m a dependable and caring pet sitter who treats every pet like my own. I know how important routines are, so I make sure pets are fed on time, get plenty of attention, and feel comfortable and safe while their owners are away. I’m patient, responsible, and good at picking up on what each pet needs, whether that’s playtime, walks, or just some extra cuddles. I also like to keep owners updated so they can relax knowing their pet is happy and well taken care of.

About: Dear Mom (or Dad), I think I found the perfect place to stay while you're away. When you drop me off, I get to spend time on a peaceful farm where my days have a calm, steady rhythm. I’ll get fresh air, new smells, and gentle guidance to help me settle in and feel comfortable. My day might include time outside, quiet rest, and simple training woven into everyday life—like practicing calm behavior, manners, and confidence in a new environment. If I have energy, I’ll get to move and explore. If I prefer a slower pace, that’s okay too. If I’m a senior dog, I’ll be cared for with patience and ease. If I’m younger, I’ll have structure and outlets that help me stay balanced. Mostly, I’ll spend my time feeling safe, understood, and well cared for—with just the right mix of attention, routine, and calm. Don’t worry about me—I’m in good hands. Love, Your Best Friend Hi, I’m Julie! I live on a quiet farm and have years of experience caring for animals, especially dogs. I offer farm-based training stays, where dogs are cared for in a calm, structured environment using positive reinforcement. Because I live on a farm, dogs benefit from fresh air, open space, and a slower pace—while still having clear routines and thoughtful supervision. I work with each dog as an individual, whether they need gentle handling, confidence building, or help settling into a balanced routine. This is a small, low-volume setting by design, allowing for personalized care and attention. For the safety and health of all dogs, I require up-to-date vaccinations, including rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. My goal is for each dog to leave feeling calm, comfortable, and well cared for. Pet care is already part of my everyday life. I’m home full-time on my farm, and my days naturally revolve around animal care, feeding routines, turnout, and regular wellness checks. Because of this, dogs in my care are rarely left alone and are gently monitored throughout the day. I keep a calm, consistent rhythm that helps animals settle in and feel secure. Safety and a low-stress environment are always my top priorities. In my home, dogs stay in a quiet farm setting where I’m home full-time and able to supervise throughout the day. I keep a structured, predictable routine so pets feel secure and settled. I have a securely fenced yard available for smaller dogs for safe outdoor time. Dogs can always be separated if needed, and I’m comfortable crating when that’s part of your dog’s normal routine. For higher-energy dogs, supervised farm hikes are available as an add-on and are always handled thoughtfully and at the dog’s comfort level.

I cannot recommend Alexis enough! We have a former stray who has only recently transitioned to being an indoor cat, so she can be very shy and particular about her food. I was nervous about leaving her, but Alexis was incredible. They respected her space, handled her specific feeding routine perfectly, and made sure she was safe and happy. If you have a rescue or a timid pet, this is the sitter for you. 5 stars!

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Oxford stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
