“This was my first time using Rover. Laura stopped by for a meet and greet of my cats, and explained how the app works. One of my cats is on twice daily meds. Laura made sure she got her doses as well as lots of snuggles, pets, brushes, and attention to both cats. I loved the updates and photos. Very pleased with Rover and Laura. I will definitely use her again.”

“Carlee was FANTASTIC! We had her meet our dog prior to being away and I could tell right away she was a dog lover! This put our mind at ease and we had no worries while traveling. She checked in after every visit with photos and a report card. We will be using Carlee again and have already recommended her to all of our friends and family.”

“It goes to show how passionately focused you are, since you noticed she slows down at the end of her walk. I noticed that too. She is 9 years old and I do not walk her enough. Thank you so very much for caring for her as detailed as you do. Because of that I never hesitate to reach out and ask for your help. LuCee absolutely loves her time with you!!”

“Olivia was amazing. She took care of my 2 cats and made sure that Stormy, who is a bit shy ate every day even if it meant feeding him in weird spots. She gave Sunny plenty of attention! And towards the end I think even Stormy loved her!”

“My dog loves Rhonda. She gives her exactly the care she needs as a senior 17 year old dog who doesn't like toys or balls. She gives her belly rubs and a nice walk. Quin is so happy when Rhonda cares for her!”

About: Grew up on a farm with lots of cats and dogs. I have a 15-year-old border collie mix that can no longer go for long walks. Hoping for the opportunity to take some other pups on walks too! I work as a nurse, so I am more than willing to administer medications and injections. Being that I have an elderly dog myself, I am no stranger to senior care or special needs. I currently work as a nurse full-time, but I am available after 5 pm to help with taking your dog out or checking in on your kitty. I am available most weekends as well. I cannot offer pet boarding, but I am willing to check in on your furry family members! I am always willing to lend a hand when life gets busy. Although my background is in human care, I can administer CPR, medications, and injections. Just let me know!
About: Every since I was young I would walk dogs for friends and family. Once I finally turned 18 I was able to work for a doggie daycare! Talk about dream come true! Hey pet parents, I promise to always do my best when having your fur child/children under my care ❤️ (I also would like to mention that the rates are high because this app only gives a very small percent of what you pay) I don’t mind long walks, and trips to the park! Snuggles and movies work too 🩵 I can provide any needed service for your fur baby/ babies! (I also would like to mention that the rates are high because this app only gives a very small percent of what you pay)

About: Hi! My name is Angela, and I understand how important it is to know your pets are safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I have experience caring for pets in their own homes and believe that remaining in a familiar environment helps reduce stress and anxiety for many animals. I’ve previously provided overnight pet sitting for multiple clients and enjoy creating a calm, consistent routine that keeps pets happy while their families are away. As a healthcare professional, reliability, communication, and attention to detail are a big part of who I am. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, medications, feeding schedules, or simply companionship, I will treat them with the same care and respect I would want for my own pets. I am the proud owner of two cats and understand that every animal has their own personality, preferences, and needs. I enjoy spending quality time with both dogs and cats and will keep you updated with messages and photos so you can relax knowing your pets are in good hands. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! I work full-time Monday through Friday, but I am available for weekend house sitting and pet care. If you are located in Viroqua or La Crosse, I may also be available for weekday house sitting and pet care. When caring for your pets, I follow their normal routines as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. I provide regular updates, photos, and communication so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pets are well cared for. I primarily provide care in my clients’ homes because I believe pets are happiest and most relaxed in their familiar environment. I take time to learn your pet’s routine, feeding schedule, medications, exercise needs, and preferences. As a healthcare professional, I value reliability, attention to detail, and clear communication. My goal is to provide safe, compassionate care while treating your home and pets with the utmost respect.
About: Empty nester, retired, and happy to share my home with your pup. We had a wonderful pup for 17.5 years and sadly he passed over the rainbow bridge about three years ago. I know how important it is to have a good home for your pet when you are out of town. I’d be happy to give lots of walks, belly rubs and love! I have a fenced yard but prefer to walk dogs for potty breaks. Experienced with senior pups. I am an early retiree and have remained active, however, have the time to care for a dog. I take walks regularly twice a day so it’s easy to fit dog walking in my routine I have a fenced yard and a large home. I do not allow dogs on my furniture but am happy to play and lay with them on the floor.
About: I've taken care of a variety of dogs since I was very young. I grew up with labs and I am very comfortable with all sizes of dogs. I took care of my yellow lab/retriever mix, Blue, for so many years; taking her on long walks, giving her baths, making sure she got along with our neighbor dogs. I also helped out taking care of my neighbor dogs from time to time. After my dog died at the age of 15, my family didn't think we would get another dog. 7 years ago, we got a new puppy, his name is Brooks, and he is a yellow lab. He is very different than our old dog. He has lots of energy, he has ran away a couple times but always came back or we found him, and we lived on 2 acres of land so that helped. He is our first inside dog, so he loves cuddles, treats, sleeping, playing catch and sneaking downstairs where he is not supposed to be. I have lots of experience with dogs and I appreciate and love them very much! I am currently working at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse, so I have the summer off. This summer I also work part-time at Festival. During the school year, I have Fridays off and I am done by 5:30pm the other days. On Mondays and Wednesdays I have slower mornings. I can help out throughout the day and on weekends. I live in an apartment building but there is an area with lots of grass and next to the building and around the area. My building doesn’t allow pets so I am not able to house pets at my place, but I can always talk to my landlord.
About: I have grown up with animals my whole life and expected to take care of them myself. I also spent lots of days/nights house sitting for neighbors and friends :) I absolutely love meeting new furry friends and making sure they receive the same love they give. I am available every single morning/afternoon before 4. I have a very flexible schedule and can try to always work something out when needed. I can stay overnight in homes any night of the week. I have a fenced in yard and 3 friendly dogs at home to keep company :) I have a small & Xlarge dog crate in case the pup needs to be in a crate whole home.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Onalaska
Sara was amazing. She was on schedule which was important for my Shadow’s medication. She also left me notes and pictures on how my cats were doing and gave them some love that they so appreciated. I really appreciated her taking the time to take care of my fur babies.

Annie did they drop in feeding and walk both dinner and next day breakfast for my two border collies. She also agreed to come for a meet and greet prior. My pets loved her and she did a phenomenal job. I’ve already recommended her to a friend and would absolutely use her again. I would happy to be a reference if need be.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
