“Nicki did everything I requested and my babies were taken very good care of. She updated me when she was on her way over and took pictures. She gave both of my cats attention and one of them can be rather difficult.”

“Cyndi was amazing! She took great care of our dog, Sherman, even when he was nervous with the fireworks. She kept in communication, sent pictures and was very professional. Thank you so much again, Cyndi!”

“Asa was easy-going and kind during our meet & greet. They were respectful of our home and arrived promptly to the requested drop-in visit times. I don't think my dogs realized I was gone ;) Thanks, Asa!”

“My older dog is blind and crabby and my younger dog has the energy of a toddler after drinking a RedBull. She did great with both of them! She is a vet tech at the same vet practice for many years, so I feel better having that experience if anything would ever happen. Definitely would recommend.”
“Rachel, Is truly a cat person, she was able to get our most skittish kitty to interact with her and pet her. This says a lot about how wonderful of a sitter she is. Thank you so much for making our vacation truly worry free and loving on our kitties. Moni and Sue”

“This is the second time we have had Tara take care of our 2 dogs. We were able to leave town and not worry about them. Tara does a great job and is quick to respond to any doggie problems. So thankful to have her! Ron and Linda Spoor”

About: I’ve been caring for cats for many years and have experience pet sitting for both cats and dogs for friends and family. While my background is stronger with cats, I’m comfortable handling the day-to-day needs of dogs as well, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and maintaining routines. I know how important consistency is for pets, especially when their owners are away, so I make it a priority to carefully follow any instructions regarding feeding, medications, dietary restrictions, routines, or other special care needs. Because I work remotely, I’m also able to spend much more time at home with pets than many sitters can, which means more company, attention, and supervision throughout the day. I currently work remotely on a typical Monday–Friday daytime schedule and am able to work from anywhere within the state, which means I can comfortably set up my work-from-home station while house and pet sitting. This allows me to be much more present and attentive throughout the day compared to sitters who may be away for long periods of time. My work is also fairly flexible, allowing me to adjust meetings and tasks as needed to help accommodate feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, medications, and other routine care. Weekends are typically very open for me as well, giving me even more flexibility and availability for your pets’ needs. I currently have two cats of my own: Draco, an 11-year-old part Manx, and Loki, a 6-year-old black American Shorthair. I’ve had both of them since they were kittens, and caring for them has given me years of hands-on experience with maintaining routines, monitoring health, and creating a calm, safe environment for pets. Draco previously needed some extra attention with his weight and diet, and through a consistent feeding routine and focused care, he was able to lose over 10 pounds and maintain a much healthier lifestyle. That experience reinforced for me how important consistency, patience, and closely following care instructions can be for pets. Loki is a rescue and can be a little shy at first, so I also understand the importance of giving pets time to adjust, respecting their comfort levels, and helping anxious pets feel safe and secure. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I aim to maintain their normal routines as closely as possible so they feel comfortable, relaxed, and well cared for while their owners are away.

“Evelyn went above and beyond when she watched my cats. From having to deal with my senior cat and her issues to taking care of a cat that she never saw, she even tried to engage her to come out of hiding. She always made sure they had what they needed. I couldn't have asked for better experience. For sure will have her back when I travel.”

“Melanie did an wonderful job keeping in contact and updating me with how my cat is doing! She also took great care of my kitty and interacted with her on each visit to make her feel loved in my absence.”

About: I have experience in walking dogs, and house sitting. I have stayed with cats as well. I used to be a doggy daycare attendant! My responsibilities included: feeding animals on a regular schedule, walking them on a schedule, giving them medication, and giving them play time and attention. As an animal lover I know that pets need more than just food and water. They need love and affection too! Count on me to give it my all to your pets. :) I am currently employed part time, and am looking to make extra cash and to connect with pets since I don’t have any of my own. (Yet!) I would have to have an early heads up of when you’d need me, because I get my work schedule weekly. I apologize, but I am unable to provide at home services. I will do all that is necessary to love and take care of your pet.
“Eleanor was very responsible and our family felt like she was taking care of our dogs well. We got photos of them every day we were away. She was great about responding and getting in touch with any questions or concerns in a timely matter. We will definitely rebook with her in the future.”

“Misty is always so great with our dogs. We have a senior dog who I worry a lot about when we are gone. Misty eases my ind with photos and constant updates! So glad we found her!”
About: My daughter and I love animals. My daughter has dreamed of being a vet since she was 5, she is now 13 and starting to make actual plans for this to be her reality. We have dog sat in our house for friends and even my Pastor. The longest we have had a dog stay with us is 10 days. During our visits we try to keep to their schedule as much as possible. I have given food at all times of the day or night and have also given oral medications. My daughter is 13 years old and is very involved with the care of the dogs. She loves to go on walks and take them out for potty breaks. She also loves to play and cuddle. Any dog we watch would have to be good with kids! I currently work from home full time M-F. My schedule is pretty flexible. We are home most evenings and weekends. We would also be willing to visit your home to care for your pet. We have a park near us and love to go their almost every evening. We are also very close to a dog park, if your dog is familiar with dog parks we would love to take them.
“Allison gets 10 stars out of 5!! This was our first time using Rover and we couldn't be happier with Allison and the job she did with our 7 year old dog. She stopped by on two separate occasions prior to our trip to get acquainted with our dog. She was super diligent and on time for every visit. She communicated very well and provided ample updates and pictures. We’re lucky to have found her and will use her again.”

About: I've been surrounded by animals my entire life and have experience caring for pets of all ages, from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need extra patience and attention. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pets as if they were their own. While I'm new to Rover, I'm not new to pet care. Friends, family, and neighbors have relied on me for years to look after their pets, whether that means daily walks, feeding routines, playtime, administering basic care, or simply providing companionship and affection. I take pride in creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment where pets feel happy and secure while their owners are away. My goal is to give you peace of mind by treating your furry family members with the same care, attention, and love that I give my own. :) I work full-time as a Foster Care Case Manager Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. My schedule allows me to provide pet care before and after work, as well as on evenings and weekends. I am available for morning walks, feeding, drop-in visits, and plenty of quality time after work hours. Because my profession requires responsibility, organization, and compassion, I am committed to maintaining consistent routines and providing dependable care for every pet. On weekends, I have greater flexibility for walks, visits, playtime, and overnight care. I always ensure pets receive the attention, exercise, and affection they need while their owners are away. When caring for pets in a client's home, I prioritize their safety, comfort, and routine. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications, and household rules to ensure your pet's day remains as normal and stress-free as possible. I take time to build trust with each pet by providing patience, positive attention, and plenty of affection based on their individual personality and needs. I also respect your home as if it were my own, keeping it clean, secure, and following any specific care instructions you provide. Communication is important to me, so I provide regular updates, photos, and messages to give you peace of mind while you're away. My goal is to create a safe, loving, and dependable experience where both you and your pet feel comfortable and cared for.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Oakville
Haley was a fabulous pet sitter to my two kitties. She was so sweet and responsible-kept me informed every day while we were away as to how they were doing and sent lots of pictures. I would absolutely recommend Haley -in fact, we have already booked her again for our next trip 😊!!

Diane went above and beyond to make certain my Sheltie and Ragdoll cat were well taken care of, loved and happy. I especially enjoyed the pics of Charlie she would send twice a day. I know now who to request when I need someone to care for them again. Thanks Diane!

Kyra went so far above and beyond while caring for our 6-year-old black Lab mix and three cats (Ruca, Hala, and Dahlia). We left her with detailed instructions and some quirks — a big dog who gets a bit too excited around others, cats with different personalities and a special eye condition, litter box maintenance, etc. She handled everything perfectly. While we were away, our apartment complex had a sewer backup (every pet sitter’s nightmare). Kyra didn’t just call us — she jumped in, cleaned what she safely could with her own supplies, kept us updated the entire time, and made sure our pets were safe and comfortable. She also sent regular photo updates that made it obvious our crew loved her — relaxed, happy, and well cared for. It’s hard to leave your pets, but Kyra made it feel effortless and worry-free. She’s reliable, resourceful, communicates clearly, and truly treats your animals like her own. I can’t recommend her highly enough — if you’re lucky enough to book her, do it!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
