“Betty is amazing, we couldn't be happier with the services she provided. From the meet & greet thru to the end of her stay she was on top of everything and always in communication. Margo and Griffin adored her and we all look forward to Betty coming back again and again.”

“Evan spent the day with our nervous girl while we went to an all-date event. We came home to her being calm and much more relaxed than when we have to leave her at home alone. Evan is a kind caregiver and has a calm energy that I’m sure helps our little girl feel comfortable. We look forward to Evan staying with us for our trip in June.”

About: I’ve been pet sitting for family, friends, and neighbors since I was 10 years old! Now at 19 I have experience in feeding, walking, cuddling, and loving so many different pets from dogs and cats to hamsters. I’m currently working as a part time teachers assistant which leaves weekday evenings (from about 4:45 to 11 pm) and weekends free for me :) I don’t currently have a space to bring your pets to my own home as I still live with my family but I’m available to visit your home during scheduled visits!
“Morgan is always great with our pups! The pups are always excited to see her and get plenty of play and exercise time while she's with them. You can tell Morgan really cares about them. Will continue booking with Morgan!”

About: In need of someone to care for your fur baby(babies)… I’m your dog sitter! I love animals, I will treat them like my own Gizmo( Bullmastiff mix); the complete experience opposite of a kennel! I do work as well as dog sit but with assistance, if by chance I have to step out, they will be unattended for no longer than 3 hours max. From blind and elder dogs to energetic puppies, I cater and adhere to all needs and requests. To maximum your reservation and get your fur baby(babies) settled, I do prefer early morning drop offs if that is convenient for the owner. I am able to do local pick ups as well if available for a small fee. Walks and playtime are scheduled catering to the pet(s) feeding times, potty times and energy. I typically walk 3 times a day and the distance varies by the pet’s comfort. Playtime and “pawtytime”( your pets deserve Me time too) fits in between walks. Your pets will be loved and treated like family every visit. I have an open apartment for them to run around and be themselves. I’ve housed a cat and 4 dogs at the same time (with their owners permission and being mindful of compatibilities) due to my minimalistic living atmosphere. My apartment is alarmed by Ring and I have a camera to monitor when they are unattended. My apartment complex has a small lawn in the front, this where they will frequent to for potty time and/or stretch their paws for a brief moment. For walks, I stay local to the Beltline, Piedmont park and Central Park.
“Wow Marissa was such a great Pet Sitter for my 3 dogs. She is very calm and easy going. She walked all 3 of our dogs when weather permitted and was fine with our 2 Vizslas wanting to cuddle with her. My older dog has separation anxiety and did really well. Marissa is amazing. She will definitely be my No. 1 choice for a Pet Sitter in the future.”

“Peytyn took amazing care of our dogs and cat. She communicated extremely well (and sent pictures) our entire vacation. She quickly learned everything we told her about all of them. We did not have to stress any on whether they were properly being cared for. For several days, her fiancé helped care for them and he was just as amazing. So thankful for them both, but Peytyn is simply the best!”

“We cannot say enough great things about Blanca. She cared for our home and dogs for three and half days and did an amazing job! We came home to a clean house, clean dogs, and she even worked on some training with them!! They had her full undivided attention the entire time and were so spoiled with cuddles, long walks, and playtime! We would recommend her 100 times over and will definitely be using her in the future! Thank you so much, Blanca!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes for friends and neighbors and genuinely enjoy spending time with them. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or extra attention, I’ll make sure they stay happy, active, and well cared for while you’re away. I am a pre-med student at NC State that is looking to continue caring for animals and enjoy doing it! I am home for the summer and have a flexible schedule. I’m organized and good at planning ahead, which helps me stay consistent with visits and make sure pets are cared for on time. I ensure they are always fed, hydrated, cared for, and active throughout the experience to ensure the pets remain happy and healthy. I will play with the pet and take them for lots of walks. I will also clean up any and all messes to maintain a clean environment.
“Alejandra was amazing, our dogs olly and isla loved her!! She was very patient with them and she cuddled and played with them alot (they’re puppies) + isla really warmed up to her which is rare because she is usually very picky about the people she’s around with. thank you so much alejandra for taking care of our kids! ◡̈ they loved you alot!! til next time!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was 13 years old. I’ve always had a dog or a cat. I love animals and put my heart into taking care of them. This will be my job so I am open and available to take care of your animals during the day, at night, and overnight. I look forward to helping you & your fur babies! I currently have 2 dogs at home and have experience giving injections as one of my fur babies is diabetic. I will love and take care of your animals as I do my own.
“Mack was great with our two younger cats! She stayed with them and made the feel safe and comfortable with plenty of cuddles and toys. She send detailed updates with photos while she was caring for them and I came home to some happy cats! I will definitely use Mack again in the future!”

“Mia is amazing! She sent daily updates and photos while we were on vacation, she was super flexible when last minute life things popped up, she was amazingly patient and respectful of my in-laws that live in our downstairs apartment, and I would 100% hire her again!!”

About: Hi! I’m 25 years old and a lifelong animal lover with over 10 years of hands-on pet care experience. Caring for animals has always been a huge part of my life, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether your furry (or feathered!) family member needs a walk, a quick drop-in visit, overnight care, or extended sitting, you can count on me to provide reliable, loving care while you’re away. I currently have an Australian Shepherd mix and a pet bird, so I’m experienced with both dogs and exotic pets. I’m comfortable caring for pets of all sizes, ages, and personalities, and I understand that every animal has unique needs and routines. I’m also experienced and confident in administering medications, whether that means pills, liquid medications, or following specific care instructions to keep your pet healthy and comfortable. My friends, family, and previous clients consistently describe me as dependable, compassionate, and attentive. I’m proud to have glowing references from pet owners who trust me to care for their beloved companions, and I work hard to earn that trust with every visit. Your pet’s safety, happiness, and well-being are always my top priorities. I’ll make sure they receive plenty of love, attention, exercise, playtime, and updates so you can enjoy peace of mind while you’re away. I’m currently available for overnight stays, drop-in visits, dog walking, and other pet care services, and I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pets. I can’t wait to give them the same level of care and affection that I give my own! Pet care is already a part of my everyday routine, so caring for additional pets fits seamlessly into my schedule. I start and end each day caring for my own Australian Shepherd mix and pet bird, making sure they receive plenty of exercise, enrichment, attention, and love. Because I’m already committed to a structured pet care routine, I’m able to easily incorporate walks, drop-in visits, feedings, playtime, medication administration, and overnight stays for my clients’ pets. I understand how important consistency is for animals, so I make it a priority to follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. Whether it’s an energetic puppy that needs extra playtime, a senior pet requiring medication, or a shy cat that just needs some quiet companionship, I’m happy to provide personalized care that helps your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and well-being are my highest priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s unique routine, personality, and needs so they feel comfortable and secure in my care. Whether we’re out on a walk, playing at home, or simply relaxing together, I remain attentive and patient while ensuring they stay safe at all times. I’ll also provide regular updates and photos, so you can feel confident knowing your pet is happy, loved, and in good hands.
“Kendall was amazing with our babies! She kept them stimulated, and gave them plenty of snuggles! She kept us updated on everything! She made sure they were not home by themselves for too long. Would love to use her again!”

“This weekend was the first weekend I used a Rover sitter for my dog, Juno, and Vanessa was great! She gave me lots of updates and pictures. Juno has her quirks and Vanessa asked all the right questions that I hadn’t thought of and made me feel safe leaving Juno with her. I came home to a happy, tired dog!”

“Meredith was very sweet and kind. You can tell when speaking with her how much she loves dogs. She stayed at our house to look after our 3 dogs. My oldest dog has major separation anxiety and she seemed fine when we arrived home. All 3 dogs seemed happy snd content. Meredith also cleaned up our kitchen area really well and thats where the dogs exit and enter to be outside. . She sent photos and updates while we were away. I definitely recommend Meredith to look after your pups when you are away.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Oak Ridge
Grace met with us several times before our trip and made sure she knew our dog's routine and where everything was. She took exceptional care of our dog and kept us informed about her by sending us photos while we were gone. She is honest, conscientious and kind and we will certainly call upon her again if we need a sitter for our dog while we are out of town. I can't say enough good things about her and we highly recommend Grace!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Oak Ridge on Rover is $33.3 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 952 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Oak Ridge. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oak Ridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oak Ridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oak Ridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oak Ridge. On Rover:

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
