“Evan spent the day with our nervous girl while we went to an all-date event. We came home to her being calm and much more relaxed than when we have to leave her at home alone. Evan is a kind caregiver and has a calm energy that I’m sure helps our little girl feel comfortable. We look forward to Evan staying with us for our trip in June.”

“I sincerely appreciate your help.I feel very fortunate. The sense of well-being I feel is comforting. Seeing kenji so calm is a great satisfaction. I truly value your care for Kenji . Thank you for everything.”

“Karina was FANTASTIC! She came to the rescue very last minute and I couldn’t be more thankful for her. HIGHLY recommended! Will definitely rebook next time we are in town!”

“Peytyn was communicative, followed instructions perfectly, and she left the house as clean as it was when she arrived. We will definitely use her services again if our schedules align!”
About: I’ve been pet sitting for family, friends, and neighbors since I was 10 years old! Now at 19 I have experience in feeding, walking, cuddling, and loving so many different pets from dogs and cats to hamsters. I’m currently working as a part time teachers assistant which leaves weekday evenings (from about 4:45 to 11 pm) and weekends free for me :) I don’t currently have a space to bring your pets to my own home as I still live with my family but I’m available to visit your home during scheduled visits!
About: In need of someone to care for your fur baby(babies)… I’m your dog sitter! I love animals, I will treat them like my own Gizmo( Bullmastiff mix); the complete experience opposite of a kennel! I do work as well as dog sit but with assistance, if by chance I have to step out, they will be unattended for no longer than 3 hours max. From blind and elder dogs to energetic puppies, I cater and adhere to all needs and requests. To maximum your reservation and get your fur baby(babies) settled, I do prefer early morning drop offs if that is convenient for the owner. I am able to do local pick ups as well if available for a small fee. Walks and playtime are scheduled catering to the pet(s) feeding times, potty times and energy. I typically walk 3 times a day and the distance varies by the pet’s comfort. Playtime and “pawtytime”( your pets deserve Me time too) fits in between walks. Your pets will be loved and treated like family every visit. I have an open apartment for them to run around and be themselves. I’ve housed a cat and 4 dogs at the same time (with their owners permission and being mindful of compatibilities) due to my minimalistic living atmosphere. My apartment is alarmed by Ring and I have a camera to monitor when they are unattended. My apartment complex has a small lawn in the front, this where they will frequent to for potty time and/or stretch their paws for a brief moment. For walks, I stay local to the Beltline, Piedmont park and Central Park.
“Bonnie was amazing! We ended up having a sick pup last minute but Bonnie was very flexible and was able to give him meds and assess his condition. She was extremely communicative, and befriended our dogs almost immediately. We cannot recommend her enough.”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was 13 years old. I’ve always had a dog or a cat. I love animals and put my heart into taking care of them. This will be my job so I am open and available to take care of your animals during the day, at night, and overnight. I look forward to helping you & your fur babies! I currently have 2 dogs at home and have experience giving injections as one of my fur babies is diabetic. I will love and take care of your animals as I do my own.
“Morgan always does such a wonderful job with my two dogs and ferret. She sends so many cute pictures and they love spending time with her. Would definitely recommend!”

“Mack was great with our dog and cat. I could tell they were well cared for when we got home because they were happy to see us and not anxious. House was left clean and tidy too. Definitely recommend Mack and will rebook next time we need a sitter ☺️”

“Wow Marissa was such a great Pet Sitter for my 3 dogs. She is very calm and easy going. She walked all 3 of our dogs when weather permitted and was fine with our 2 Vizslas wanting to cuddle with her. My older dog has separation anxiety and did really well. Marissa is amazing. She will definitely be my No. 1 choice for a Pet Sitter in the future.”

“Absolutely fantastic! Daily updates with photos! And it was obvious from the photos and tones of the updates that everyone was getting along fabulously! We were able to relax on our Christmas vacation knowing our pups were in such capable, caring, kind, hands. Dogs were happy to see my husband and I when we got home but they were so relaxed and not stressed and very comfortable to be in their own environment with Mia and Aaron. Highly recommend! We will be calling on Mia and Aaron for all our future dog sitting needs!”

“Kylee did a wonderful job caring for our dogs while we were away. She was reliable, on time, and kept us updated, which gave us great peace of mind. Our dogs were happy, well cared for, and clearly received lots of attention. We also really appreciated that she left our home clean and tidy when she left. It's always nice to come home to happy pets and a clean house! We would absolutely book with Kylee again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter.”

“Val did a great job watching our 3 dogs for a week long trip at our house. The dogs were cared for, fed and they warmed up to her. She was communicative and sent daily pictures/updates.”
“Alejandra was amazing, our dogs olly and isla loved her!! She was very patient with them and she cuddled and played with them alot (they’re puppies) + isla really warmed up to her which is rare because she is usually very picky about the people she’s around with. thank you so much alejandra for taking care of our kids! ◡̈ they loved you alot!! til next time!”

About: I’ve taken care of both dogs and cats since I was 10. I am very used to taking care of pets. I enjoy walks with pups I’m currently a house wife so I have plenty of time to walk your fur babies! I can work Monday to Friday 8 to 5. I have a large yard with a crate in it to hold your fur babies! I also have a blue heeler that would love to play!
“Matt was/is amazing! A true hidden gem or maybe not so hidden but either way I'm glad I found him. His immediate calming demeanor was just what my semi high strung energetic dog needed, as well as my timid cat. He was flexible, punctual, incredibly kind, and went above and beyond while caring for my fur babies. It made being away from them that much easier as my mind and heart were at peace. He also sent me lots of photos of them which always brightens my day when I'm away from them. I could not recommend Matt enough.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Colfax walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Colfax maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Colfax choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Colfax. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
