“Betty is amazing, we couldn't be happier with the services she provided. From the meet & greet thru to the end of her stay she was on top of everything and always in communication. Margo and Griffin adored her and we all look forward to Betty coming back again and again.”

“Emma was with our fur girls while we were in Vegas for 9 days. She kept good contact, sent great pics, and did an amazing job. She is so warm and friendly. Would definitely use her again.”

“Hayley did a great job with our two Bulldogs. They can definitely be high-maintenance, but she handled them very well. Overall, it was a great experience, and we were very happy with her care.”

“An amazing sitter. I would recommend her to pet sit more. For a beginner, she's sweet and understanding. And ask me questions about my dog and cat. Takes good pictures of my pets.”
About: I have cared for several pets in my lifetime with several years of experience. I love animals sometimes more than people, but I genuinely treat them the way that I would treat my own and want nothing more than a comfortable experience with you and your fur babies. I work full-time, but I get off work at 4:30 every single day and am free every single evening and the weekends. I’m free as well as long as I have a schedule set and place I will treat and care for your pet just as I would my own. I will take care of things and do things as you ask. I love animals and I treat peoples things with love and respect.
About: We have had many different types of pets over the years and understand the worry of having someone care for your pets while you are away. We are here to help with that worry by providing your pet a loving, fun and safe environment while you are away. Our family consist of my husband, a son in college and a daughter in high school and myself. We have a 13 year old Beagle/Terrier mix who is mostly interested in chasing squirrels and naps. We have recently rescued a kitten who is a fire cracker and provides a lot of interaction and entertainment for other cats and dogs who engages with her. I am home full time and when the children are home both enjoy caring and playing with the pets in our care. Being home allows me to have eyes on your pets and be readily available and responsive. We are well off the beaten path with lots of yard to roam and other barn yard pets. We have a small farm with an area fenced for our dogs as well as a fenced pasture for our farm animals. We also can accommodate crates for those pets that prefer the safety of their known space. Your pet with be a part of our tribe when they are here and will be safe and have a great time. I welcome frequent contact and am very responsive to each pet and their owners needs. Your pet will get the highest level of care here on the farm.
About: Dependable and attentive care with plenty of walks, play, cuddles. I am patient and experienced with shy pets, energetic puppies, and senior dogs alike. I also have experience with friendly or timid cats. I build my schedule around what each pet needs. I’m very flexible, and I’m able to adjust my availability depending on your timing — whether that means early mornings, evenings, or extended overnight stays. I take pride in being dependable, communicative, and easy to work with, and I treat both customer care and pet care as equally important. Making sure your pet feels comfortable, safe, and loved is always my priority, and I’m happy to tailor my routine to match theirs so everything feels seamless for you. When I care for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping a safe, clean, and comfortable environment that feels consistent and reassuring for the pet. I follow the routines and instructions you provide closely, making sure feeding, walks, playtime, and any medications are handled exactly the way your pet is used to. I keep the space tidy, clean up after the pets right away, and always respect your home as if it were my own. I’m reliable, communicative, and easy to work with, and I make sure you always know how your pet is doing through updates, photos, and check‑ins. My goal is to give your pet attentive, loving care while giving you complete peace of mind.
“Katy was fantastic! She was so communicative and was the best caretaker of our dog Josie. She took our directions very considerately and keep us informed daily over the week she watched our dog. I would absolutely hire her again in a heartbeat.”

“Blanca was amazing!!! She stayed overnight with my 2 dogs. One dog is senior and the other we’ve only had for 3 months from the shelter. She taught the new dog several commands while giving lots of lovin to my senior dog. I will definitely book again! Thanks Blanca!”

“Kacie did a fantastic job when watching our 3 dogs. We have 1 dog that is extremely anxious and usually takes 2-3 visits from someone before she will even go near them. But Kacie was able to get close to her and pet her on the 1st visit. By the end of the day, the other 2 were just laying at her feet enjoying her company. She sent tons of pictures and I could tell she spent time with them and let them have some fun outside. And when she did have a concern about the anxious dog, she reached out, and we discussed some potential solutions which showed me she was genuinely concerned about the welfare of the dogs, and not afraid to ask for help with the more difficult dog. I will for sure being calling on Kacie again.”

“Jayden was great. She stayed @ our home for a couple of days watching our 2 dogs. She was a great communicator and left the house in great shape. The dogs seemed to enjoy her. Would definitely recommend Jayden and will use her when needed for future dates!”

About: I have over 15 years of experience caring for both cats and dogs, offering reliable, loving, and attentive care. From daily walks and playtime to feeding, grooming, and administering basic medications, I treat every pet as if they were my own. Animals have always been a big part of my life, and I pride myself on creating a safe, nurturing environment where they feel happy and cared for. Pet care naturally fits into my daily routine because animals have always been a part of my life. I’m used to planning my mornings and evenings around walks, feeding, and playtime, and I enjoy building that consistency into my week. Whether it’s daily check-ins, longer stays, or weekend walks, I make sure caring for pets is a reliable and joyful part of my schedule. In my home, I provide a safe, clean, and loving environment where pets can feel comfortable and relaxed. I make sure they have regular feeding times, fresh water, daily walks or play, and lots of affection. I also keep their routines as close as possible to what they’re used to, so they feel secure. When I care for pets in a client’s home, I follow the instructions provided closely — whether that’s specific feeding schedules, administering medications, or sticking to a particular walking route. I always keep the home tidy, respect the client’s space, and send regular updates and photos so they know their pets are happy and cared for.
About: I’m a loving, responsible, and attentive pet sitter who genuinely loves animals and believes they deserve the same patience, care, and affection they receive from their own family. I was raised around dogs, so caring for them has always been a natural part of my life. Being around dogs from a young age has taught me how to be patient with different personalities, recognize when a pet may be uncomfortable or need extra attention, and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Most importantly, I genuinely care about the animals I look after. I want every pet in my care to feel safe, happy, comfortable, and cared for. Your pet isn’t just another booking to me. They’re someone’s family, and I treat them that way. Pet sitting is currently a part-time job for me, as I do have another job. I’ll primarily be available on weekends, but as I build my clientele, I hope to expand my availability and offer more flexible dates, including Sunday evenings and additional days for repeat clients. I’ll always do my best to work with your schedule and provide dependable care when you need it! I’m open to providing a variety of pet care services, including drop-in visits, walks, and house sitting. While I’m unable to board pets in my own home because I have my own pet, I’m more than happy to care for pets in their home where they’re most comfortable. When caring for your pet in your home, I’ll respect your space, follow your house rules and your pet’s routine, and make sure your home is left just as I found it. I’ll give your pet plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and companionship while making sure their food, water, medications, potty breaks, and other needs are handled according to your instructions. I understand that inviting someone into your home requires trust, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is for both you and your pet to feel comfortable and confident while you’re away.
About: Ive been around pets all my life! I started raising dogs when I was 11 and have helped friends and nieghbors with their dogs and cats since I was 15. Tasks have ranged from small check-ins with pets, to staying overnight to keep them company. Right now I work at a local food pantry on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sundays are also a busy day for me, but I can be very flexible and move times around with enough notice. I have one black short haired cat that I spend most of my time with. She stays indoors, but I let her come out on my back deck to get some air and a better view of the birds and chipmunks she always has beef with. She's the most hyperactive and persnicity cat I've ever had the pleasure of knowing, so I'm experienced with cats who have their own ways of playing.

About: Cat mom of 2, Jimmi is 25 and rescued from Fukushima Japan during my time volunteering with Japan Cat Network (he’s a bit of a celebrity and was featured on animal planet!), and Pixie is 3 years old. Every cat has their own unique “big personality” that compliments the home and add a little spunk to our lives! My dog Kylo is a rescue from Prince William county VA animal shelter and has been with me since 2018, he’s approximately 10 years old. I recently moved from northern VA and looking to get to know the community better. What better way than through meeting likeminded pet owners! I am currently looking for professional work and availability will be evenings and weekends, but for now I have quite a bit of flexibility to accommodate. I’m in a smoke free apartment with an extra bedroom, a nice dog park, and dog wash station available. I’m happy to also come to your home and follow your routines.
About: I have a degree in animal science so I know lots about all sorts of animals, i love all animals with a passion. I’m a dog mom of 3! Currently working Wednesday from 2-5 and Friday 6-12. So the rest of the week I can play and walk your pups 🐶!! I’m super flexible with my schedule. I have three pups of my own and two acres of land for them to run and play, I do prefer to do walks or in home check ins on others animals though! One of my pups gets anxious around others sometimes. But he’s not aggressive.
“Sarah is such an amazing person! We had her stay the night a few nights with our dog and she was such a wonderful caregiver to her. Our dog is very shy and timid and by day two she was sending us videos of her being playful and zooming around with her. Sarah has an amazing way with dogs and she also saved our apartment from burning down by smelling something burning and it was one of our air wick wall plug ins! She is amazing, attentive and has great communication. My husband and I can’t recommend her enough!”

“Anna did a great job with both of my pups, who can definitely be a handful! She gave me photo updates everyday, which was very helpful for an anxious dog mom! I would recommend her to anybody and everybody!”

“I would give her 100 stars if I could! Venessa treated our dogs like her own. Having that piece of mind, helped us truly relax on our vacation. Thank you for everything!”

Fiona was very professional, probably the most pro of any sitter I’ve had on rover! They were great with my dogs and I appreciate the maintenance with their routines and training. Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gold Hill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gold Hill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gold Hill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
