“We picked up a very happy pup. She enjoyed playing with Taza and her family. She met a cat and that went better than we imagined. Taza made sure she ate, ran, played and had a good time.”

“Christina was great with my dog Remus. She was attentive and listened about my concerns for him. She provided regular communications about how their day was going. I was very appreciative of her efforts and care.”

About: I can’t remember a time in my life that I didn’t have a dog (or two). Big dogs, little dogs and in between. Now that I am retired, I devote most of my time to caring for my two “baby girls”. Daisy & Bella are litter sisters although they don’t look a like. They are Teddy Bear/Schicons (1/2 Bichon Frise and 1/2 Shih Tzu). They are inseparable, looking out for each other or wrestling together, where there’s one there is the other. They do play well with others. My sister’s little girl is a Shih Tzu and she is an only child, we laugh and call her the Princess. I sit for her for a week or long weekends when my sister visits her daughter out of town. She also comes over for play dates. They all respect each other’s boundaries and the Princess has learned to play with “the Court Jesters”. My dogs and visitors are allowed on furniture and beds. My yard is not fenced, but I do have a radio frequency collar system that I can use or walk on leash per owner’s preference. I live a long way from the road so it is safe. We go on golf cart rides around the property in the afternoon, my girls look forward to it. I am retired, so unless I have a doctor appointment or go grocery shopping, I am home 100% of the time. I do go to church on Sunday morning. My girls have the run of our home but I can use a crate if owner desires. I will treat your fur baby like I do my own. They are my #1 priority, always. They have a feeding schedule twice daily with a few treats throughout the day. They get lots of love and snuggles to their satisfaction. I encourage them to play with toys inside interacting with each other and myself. They will get plenty of exercise indoors and outdoors. I refreshed their water several times daily.

“If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Briana was communicative, nice, caring and welcoming. Pickup and drop-off was great. My dog seemed to have a great time and when I come back to the area will be sure to book with Briana again!”

“Mary is wonderful! She’s kind, responsible, and good-natured. Lilo had a blast with her and her kids, and we loved getting all the updates and cute photos during her stay. Lilo can't wait for her next visit- thanks again, Mary!”

“Jessica was incredible. We had a very last minute need and she was responsive, confident and we felt from the beginning that there wasn't a situation that she couldn't handle when it came to our dog. He can be a little anxiously attached and she didn't bat an eye. She was a godsend when we needed one!”

“Lutisa was very helpful in that I needed a sitter ASAP, and she agreed to take my Myra. I was so appreciative that I didn't have to leave her alone for many hours. She took very good care of her.”

“Suzanne and Ryan were gracious enough to fit us in at the last minute. They are great people with a wonderful house/fenced backyard for our two dogs. Our dogs adored them and were worn out from a great day at their home. We would recommend them to anyone who needs a dog sitter.”

I specialize in caring for your pets on their schedules. So, whether you’re at work, and your pet just needs a potty break, or you’re out of town on vacation, you can be sure your fur babies are getting the best care and attention possible. As a caregiver, pet care is an integral part of my daily or weekly routine. It involves scheduled activities such as feeding, walking, and playtime, all tailored to the individual needs of each pet I'm responsible for. Additionally, I prioritize communication with pet owners, providing them with updates on their pets' well-being and addressing any concerns that may arise. Ensuring that pets receive proper care, attention, and companionship is a consistent and important aspect of my routine. Having someone reliable, care for your pets in the comfort of their own home, has been shown to minimize stress while you’re away. When caring for pets in a client's home, there are several important aspects for me to consider: 1. ** Feeding and Watering:** Ensure that the pets are fed according to their schedule and dietary requirements. Provide fresh water at all times. 2. **Medications:** Administer any necessary medications as instructed by the client or veterinarian. 3. **Exercise:** Take the pets for regular walks or outdoor playtime to meet their exercise needs and provide mental stimulation. 4. **Toilet Breaks:** Let the pets out for bathroom breaks and clean up after them as needed. 5. **Play and Interaction:** Engage in interactive play sessions, provide toys, and offer companionship to prevent boredom and loneliness. 6. **Housekeeping:** Ensure the pet's living area is clean and tidy, including cleaning up any accidents or messes. 7. **Communication:** Maintain open communication with the pet owner, providing updates on their pets' well-being and any concerns that arise. 8. **Emergency Preparedness:** Be aware of emergency contacts, the location of the nearest veterinary clinic, and any specific instructions for emergencies. Every pet is unique, so it's crucial for me to follow the owner's instructions and cater to the specific needs and routines of each pet I am caring for.

About: Hello! I have a lot of experience with animals including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, ferrets, turtles, rats, exotic birds, goats, and a tarantula or two so feel free to reach out if you have any questions about your pet. I worked as a Veterinarian Assistant in Greensboro, NC and I have been with Rover since 2018. I am a kind-hearted, patient person with lots of love to give your pets while you are away. I am an avid hiker but if she/he is more of a couch potato, that works too. I have cared for puppies, adult and senior dogs, kittens, adult and senior cats with medication needs on several occasions. Shy and senior pets are my specialties! I have two senior female dogs at home that I’ve had since they were puppies and three rambunctious short hair cats. When they were younger we would walk Battleground Park and the various trails in Eden or around the lakes in Greensboro. I am available for drop-ins and long or short walks. Play time at home is great as well and I am happy to answer questions you have. Thank you for your consideration! I have a full-time job in Eden, NC and work part-time with Rover. I have availability during the week and on the weekends and I travel to GSO on occasion for work and park visits. I like to take time to get to know your pet. Setting up a routine they can get used to is important while you're away so I like to establish that with them based on what works on the first and second visit.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 342 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Gold Hill. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Gold Hill commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
