“Channing is WONDERFUL! Very warm and caring and it's easy to see she loves animals..asks lots of questions about your animals and what they need.Keeps in touch, sends pics and reports. Was very gracious when our trip got cut short. Love her and will definitely book again”

“Montana is absolutely the best! I went on vacation leaving my precious car babies in her care. She took excellent care of them, reporting on each one's behavior so I would know they were okay. She took lots of pictures. She even brought my trash cans back from the curb. Whaaat!?!? She's exceptional and is my go-to from now on.”

“Allie was great with my cat. She made sure she was gentle and slow and my GiGi and he was so comfortable with her. He even jumped in her lap wanting attention. Thanks Allie!!!”

“Betty provided drop in service for my pup Roxie for for 30 mins a day for 2 weeks. This was my first time utilizing Rover. Betty has such a kind, sweet spirit and you can easily tell within minutes of meeting that she loves animals! She was also flexible with activities requests that were modified due to changing weather. Roxie was thrilled to be able to play fetch in the backyard or go for walks (if/when it rained) mid day every day! Betty was very responsive and interactive by providing pics/videos during her daily visit. I will definitely contact her again when future needs arise!”

“Denise did a great job in visiting my two cats. She played with them and spoke gently to them. I’m looking forward to Denise having more quality time with them. Thank you so much Denise for watching my kitties.”

About: I’ve had pets for the last 26 years. Two cats that lived to be 18 and 20 years old. I currently have one Australian Labradoodle three years old and two cats, Olive and Luna. I work from home so my pets get to go outside and enjoy love and attention during the day. I walk them for a few minutes during the day and ensure they can go outside when they need it. I don’t have a fence yard. I like to walk my dog with a leash. I don’t like to let my dog wonder around because in Florida you don’t know what insects or other animals could hurt them. I rather stay close to my pets to supervise them and ensure they are safe.

“I had to stay out of town a bit longer than expected, so I was immediately worried about getting my cat check on. I chatted with Jordan in the morning, and she was over at my house caring for my cat only a few hours later. She sent me photos, and updated me every step of the time she was there. I couldn't have asked for anything more. I'll definitely have Jordon stop by from here on out when I can't be home. Thank you so much ?”

About: Hi! I’m a stay-at-home mom and lifelong animal lover, which means your pup will receive plenty of love, attention, and supervision throughout the day—never long hours home alone. I only accept a limited number of dogs at a time so I can provide personalized care and make every guest feel like part of the family. My home has a secure, fully fenced yard where dogs can safely run, play, sniff, and enjoy plenty of outdoor time. Inside, they’ll have a clean, comfortable environment with lots of cuddles, playtime, and opportunities to relax. I do my best to keep your dog’s routine as close to home as possible, whether that means sticking to feeding schedules, administering medication, or providing extra potty breaks and exercise. I know how nerve-racking it can be to leave your pet behind, so I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages throughout their stay, giving you peace of mind while you’re away. My goal is simple: for your dog to have so much fun that they’re excited to come back for their next visit. I can’t wait to welcome your furry family member into our home! My boys are now in elementary school, so I have extra time on my hands & wanted to help my husband financially. I also don’t travel much for holidays as I have a large family, so I am around for all your Holiday vacation needs! I follow good instructions, so whatever you say is whatever I do! Guaranteed! I have a big dog and a medium sized dog so I am comfortable with all types & sizes of dogs. I will also leave you a note in regards to everything that happens with your furry love.
About: Hi! I’m Katie, a lifelong animal lover dedicated to providing dependable, loving care for your pets. I’ve had cats and dogs as part of my family since I was in third grade, and caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. Through the years, I’ve gained experience with pets of different ages, personalities, and needs. While I currently have two dogs, I’ve also owned and cared for cats for many years. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family members. I pride myself on being dependable, reliable, and attentive to each pet’s unique needs. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, or simply keeping your pet company while you’re away, I’ll care for them as if they were my own. My goal is to keep your pet comfortable, happy, and on their normal routine while giving you peace of mind. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I do work Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-4:30 pm. I can do a drop in before work and do a drop in after work and again in the evenings. On the weekends I am able to be more flexible with drop ins. I will take care of my client’s pets in their home and take great care of their home & pets. This includes cleaning up any messes the pets make while their parents are away.

Tara did such a great job with Annabel’s care. She was thorough, conscientious, and went above and beyond to make sure my kitty had everything she needed. He communication was detailed and prompt. I will hope she is available when Annabel needs care in the future.

Amanda was absolutely fantastic and saved us in a pinch when another sitter stopped responding the day before our trip! She was so accommodating and took amazing care of our two kitties! They loved her right away and she loved them like we would have. She communicated so well and sent photos to update us and was truly pleasant to work with! So glad we found a sitter here we can trust! Will definitely be booking her next time we travel!

Couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter. I got daily picture updates and great communication the whole time from Angelina, which made me feel completely at ease while I was away. My pet was happy, safe, and well cared for. Highly recommend and will definitely use again!”

Catlyn was both professional and friendly. She followed directions to the letter and did a wonderful job keeping me informed daily. My Lily doesn't care for strangers but she really took a liking to Catlyn, that speaks volumes to me. I will definitely hire Catlyn again when the need arises. Thanks for everything Catlyn ❤️🐈⬛

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in North Port. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
