About: I spend my free time volunteering at a local dog rescue. I am a born & raised Midwesterner who is a true "Dog Mom." I am a retired teacher who has lived in SW Florida for four years now. I have embraced the Florida lifestyle even taking my dog out in a "doggy stroller!" I have been trusted to watch and care for friends' dogs and cats for days at a time or even weeks while they've gone on vacation. I love their pets like my own. I am picky about who watches my own dog, so I would like any pet owner to know that their little furball is in good hands while they're away. I work part-time so I have flexibility during the week. I am also available on weekends. I'm willing to discuss any specific time needs with pet owners as well. I am a self-described "early bird" which allows me to walk dogs when the weather is cooler. My dogs have always had full run of the house except when I'm away and then they are put into a crate (mostly for their own protection so they're not eating or chewing on items they shouldn't!) or trying to jump on or off furniture. My dogs have always been treated extremely well. When I wake up early in the morning, my dog goes out first thing, gets a treat, then gets fed breakfast. We usually do a small walk. I take into account the age and wellness of the dog. I had an elderly dog who used to walk two miles every day, but then he slowed down a lot, so I adjusted his walk distances. I also adjust to the Florida heat! No walks during the hottest hours! I like to get out early and walk. Speaking of walking or playing - my favorite motto is: A tired dog is a happy dog!

About: I've had a dog for years, and before that I've had a cat for even longer so I understand how to take care of both of them and it's not a burden for me to take care of them because I love these animals! I work at bocca lupo and attend SCF, I'm just doing online school at the moment, but I'm generally available all day on Tuesdays, Thursdays, most Wednesdays, Some Sundays, and Friday nights and Saturday mornings. I will make sure your pet gets everything they need, such as the necessities like food, water, and time to go outside, and then I'll make sure it gets a bunch of pets and playtime! And God forbid something bad happens to it, I'll take it to the vet right away.
