“We went on vacation to the other side of the US. It was so great not to worry about our dogs as we knew that we're in very good hands with Jennifer. She sent us pics at least 3 times a day. She took great care of our dogs!!!”
“Christine was fantastic! She was incredibly flexible and accommodating with our schedule, and she took wonderful care of Charlotte and Olive. We really appreciated the frequent updates, adorable photos, and excellent communication throughout their stay. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Christine again and look forward to having her watch Charlotte and Olive in the future. Highly recommend!”
“Debra was wonderful!! Debra moved in and sat for us and our 2 little fur babies. She took wonderful care of them, complete with baths. Gave medicine as needed. Plus received pictures each day. We felt completely comfortable leaving our house and 2 little dogs in her care. We will use her again when needed. Highly recommend.”

“Danette is the best EVER house sitter, pup 🐶 caregiver!! Whether it's the 2 big girls or all 4 boys ands girls, she is the biggest, best animal lover around! We would highly recommend her to care for your animal companions.”

“Brittany is our new fairy dog mother! She has dog sit for us a few times now and has been very trustworthy & reliable. We are thankful to be able to leave and know our doggies are in good hands. Highly recommend!”

“Jennifer was amazing. Our German Shepard Axel was completely comfortable with her as soon as she arrived. She made sure to walk him and give him lots of love. I am so happy we found her and plan on using her again.”

“Katie was absolutely incredible and I truly cannot recommend her enough!! From the very start, I could tell Luigi felt comfortable with her which says EVERYTHING!! The moment she got out of her car to greet us, he immediately took to her and that is not something he does with everyone. She provided so many updates and pictures which gave me so much peace of mind while we were away. I never once had to wonder how he was doing. One of the biggest things that stood out to me was her honesty. Instead of just saying everything was perfect (which other sitters have said while I knew he wasn’t perfectly fine), she shared that Luigi definitely missed us. I appreciated that more than anything because it showed how in tune she was with him. Even better, she didn’t just leave it at that. She actively worked to engage him and get him moving which is so important for a dog’s mental well being. She took him on walks, paid close attention to his needs, and truly treated him like her own. You can tell Katie genuinely cares and goes above and beyond. Luigi and I are both so grateful to have found her!!!”

“Our Ronde loved spending time with Hailey. She was patient with him and his insecurities. We recently adopted Ronde and we were worried about the transition of new people, he did great.”

“Liliana, was wonderful. She came before the booking to meet our puppy, stayed at our house with him, took him for walks. This was our first time leaving our puppy at home and she made us feel comfortable that he was in good hands for our short trip. Will book again!”

“Catlyn was great-on time, lots of communication and photos! House was spotless when we returned from a weekend trip. I felt comfortable the whole time that our boys were being well cared for!”

“Allison was able to extend her care for my dog when my return flight was delayed. She came in clutch in an emergency. She is conscientious, caring and kind. She adjusted to the routine my elderly dog was used to so things stayed consistent for him. It helped out a lot and he was clearly happy and well cared for.”

“Nancy was the best house and dog sitter ever! My two dogs love her and already miss her. I will definitely book Nancy again soon for my next trip. The house was spotless when I got back. The dogs were happy and only disappointed when Nancy had to leave.”

“Connie was a wonderful dog-sitter for my elder dog Kelsey. She kept me informed and sent photos throughout the days I was gone. Kelsey warmed up to her very quickly. It's a nice feeling knowing I have a trustworthy dog-sitter to turn to when needed. I highly recommend Connie!”

“Skylar took such wonderful care of Billie while I was away. From the updates and photos to the genuine care and attention, I could tell my dog was in great hands. She went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly, and I came home to a happy, relaxed dog as well as a tidy house! I highly recommend Skylar to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter. Thank you so much!!”

“Eni far exceeded my expectations. She is extremely professional and not only loves dogs she knows how to handle them well and adjusts accordingly. She left my house tidy and clean and my doggos very happy, and well cared for. I will be using her services regularly.”

“Montana took very good care of our bullmastiff. We really like that she lists her schedule in her bio. This makes it really easy to know her availability. Our dog Apollo really liked her.”
About: I’ve pet sit bunnies and dogs I’ve pet sat dogs and cats and genuinely love spending time with animals. I’m patient, reliable, and pay close attention to each pet’s needs. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, or giving them plenty of love and attention, I make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. :) Most of my weekly routine consists of working part-time at a movie theater, going to the gym, and attending church and adult youth group. Outside of that, I have plenty of flexibility, so pet care fits naturally into my schedule. I enjoy spending time with animals and always make sure they receive the attention, exercise, and love they deserve. Yayyyyy!!! I always make my top priorities your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine. I carefully follow all instructions for feeding, walks, parent check ins so they know what’s going on to give them a clear of mind, medications (if needed), playtime, and any special requests. I’ll consistently check to make sure everything is done correctly and provide updates so you can feel confident your pet is safe and well cared for while you’re away. I treat every pet with patience, kindness, and the same love and attention I would give my own.
About: I am 45 and have been around animals my whole life , especially dogs. I currently own 4 of my own. I am looking for ways to keep busy and help clients keep their babies at home instead of day camps. I can also bring my 3 year old frenchie Harley if your fur baby like other dogs I am available Monday through Friday from 8-4 Unless it’s for overnight care then I’ll check on them one last time before 9 pm I will treat your fur babies as I would treat my own Check In’s, walks, play time and I will always make sure they have fresh water

“Jacqueline stayed overnight with my two cats. From our first contact she was so prompt answering messages. I’ve had other sitters and she is one of the few who actually showed up on time and was there when she said she would be. I returned to find my house in tiptop shape. I highly recommend her. She’s a real sweetheart!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Murdock
Christine was great with our dogs. They get very, very excited when someone comes in the house, she had no problem with them being crazy at first. She got them to calm down and everything went great. We also received the cutest pictures in a text. I would recommend Christine to anyone I know. We trust her completely.
They were able to help us on short notice, which we really appreciated. They stayed at our apartment to care for our three cats and fish while we were away, and our pets were safe when we returned. We appreciate their flexibility and willingness to help during a time when we needed someone quickly. Thank you for taking care of our pets.

Saige was excellent! She took very good care of our precious pug who suffers from separation anxiety. She stayed in our home for 10 days. Our home was as we left it. We are very happy with the level of care. We received photos daily which were reassuring to see our pug being in good hands. We highly recommend Saige.

Montana was just fabulous! This was my first time using Rover and I was a little nervous since I was on a cruise and would have limited contact, but Montana was just amazing the whole time. We hit it off right away at our meet and greet, and she was there every time we needed her to be, plus more! She even checked the “kids” one last time before we got home, which was so nice. We will 100% book with Montana again!

Kayleigh was wonderful…I had a great deal of peace while out of the country for my son’s wedding! It was the first time I left my fur babies with a hired sitter vs. a family member or friend! She sent me videos and pictures and was sure that Buddy, my high energy Portuguese Water Dog, got plenty of exercise! And she was happy to have Buddy sleep in the bed with her since that’s where he sleeps every night with me! Highly recommend her!!!
Both of my mini Australian Shepherd's adored Colin! He was very attentive and played with them a lot! They both slept like babies after he was here for the night! We will definitely use his services again ! Our dogs went to the front door to watch him, leave and looked sad! He was well loved and very respectful at our home!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Murdock walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Murdock maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Murdock choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Murdock. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
