Hello animal enthusiasts! My name is Katie and I have worked with animals in a multitude of settings. Jane Goodall (Primatologist) was always an idol of mine. As I grew up in a household loving my dogs, cats, and birds I envisioned working in Africa with chimpanzees. While my vision didn't manifest exactly the way I had fathomed, I still ended up working with baboons in Africa (2017). Along the way, I was an outdoor educator for several years working with all sorts of reptiles, amphibians, birds, mammals, and invertebrates. I have been attracted to all types of animals since the day I was born. As a science teacher (8 years), I kept corals and saved many animals in the outdoor environment near our school (from squirrels to birds and much more). My husband and I have just moved from Chicago, IL to Florida. We have a love for adventure and curiosity for the great outdoors. We are happily married with our Cockatiel (Sunny) and Umbrella Cockatoo (Jack). I can't wait to meet you and love your pets for eternity! Along with my elementary education degree, I studied zoology. So, with that being stated, I'm here in Florida ready to meet new people, love your pets, teach, adventure, and learn all about Florida ecology! Let's connect!

Katie was absolutely incredible and I truly cannot recommend her enough!! From the very start, I could tell Luigi felt comfortable with her which says EVERYTHING!! The moment she got out of her car to greet us, he immediately took to her and that is not something he does with everyone. She provided so many updates and pictures which gave me so much peace of mind while we were away. I never once had to wonder how he was doing. One of the biggest things that stood out to me was her honesty. Instead of just saying everything was perfect (which other sitters have said while I knew he wasn’t perfectly fine), she shared that Luigi definitely missed us. I appreciated that more than anything because it showed how in tune she was with him. Even better, she didn’t just leave it at that. She actively worked to engage him and get him moving which is so important for a dog’s mental well being. She took him on walks, paid close attention to his needs, and truly treated him like her own. You can tell Katie genuinely cares and goes above and beyond. Luigi and I are both so grateful to have found her!!!
Katie made our trip stress-free knowing our animals were in good hands. She's great at communicating and didn't need much direction, making us feel like she had everything handled, and she did!! She was very respectful of our home and left it spotless when we returned. We are so glad we found Katie, we couldn't ask for a better pet/house sitter :)

There is not a person that I would trust more to watch and take care of my pets than Katie! She truly is an amazing person inside and out, and it shows with how much animals (including my dog and cat) love her!! Zeitplan
I'm currently reinventing my life/schedule after just recently moving from Chicago, IL this year and leaving my middle school science teaching position. I plan on working for a nature center and substitute teaching while I continue improving my writing career. As of right now, I have an open schedule until the end of August. I will be changing my availability in September.

Currently, we do not have a fenced in yard for your pet but I can surely take him/her out with their leash in our vast open space! If your dog loves the hose, we have access to this as well. Who doesn't love a nice spray during the hot summer? Your pet will have 24 hour access to this yard, cozy home, and the couch or bed! We live about 5 minutes from the Audubon Pennington Park where we love to take nature walks. I'm sure your dog wouldn't mind a nature walk too! We truly do enjoy hosting neighborhood pets as one of our very own family members. Your pet will receive unconditional love, constant cuddles, outdoor time, and food/water the way you prefer it! At night time, they can choose from our warm bed or their very own cozy dog bed. Your pet is top priority and we want to provide the best experience for them so that they are happy to come back and play! With that being said, I would love to work with you to provide whatever it is you and your pet need. Thanks and can't wait to touch base!
Ein typischer Tag
Even though we do not have a fenced in yard, your pet will still have access to exercise as often as desired. With that being said, I will take frequent indoor/outdoor breaks with your pet to play fetch, hide and seek, or simply howl out to all the wild creatures existing in wild Florida. I am new to the area, but would love to walk your pets around the quiet neighborhood or at the nearest park. Your animal will receive endless cuddles and sweet talk. I would love to hear about other activities your pet enjoys and will adapt to their needs easily.
