Over: I work in Marketing & Communications and live in between 2 parks - Oosterpark and Frankendael park. I love walking, so your dog will always be entertained. I had 2 wonderful family members - a big poodle and a Coker spaniel, who lived happy long lives. As a dog sitter I provide care and safety for your pets, long walks and fun games, as well as maintaining discipline. I usually babysit the dogs of my friends and people I know and I’d like to do it for more owners and their fluffy kids:) I’d like your pet to be dropped off prior to 8am and to be picked up after 6pm on the weekdays. On a weekend the drop off and pick up are flexible. I take notes on the owners preferences and keep the dog’s usual routine to keep them away from stress. Depending on the dog’s personality, I can engage them in games and long walks or provide some space for them to be comfortable. I genially love dogs and do my best for them to enjoy the stay.

Over: Two Dalmatians, a chihuahua, a Pomeranian and three mutts were my siblings growing up. I took care of them through every vet visit, may it be grooming days, sick days, or the few times they’ve given birth to puppies! I actually enjoy working with more challenging or highly sensitive dogs as well. I stay calm, provide clear structure, and take the time to build trust so the dog knows what to expect. During walks, I pay close attention to the surroundings, safety, and the dog’s own signals. Owners can expect me to be responsible, reliable, and genuinely involved, and to treat their dog with patience, attention, and care. Clear communication is also very important to me, so owners always know how things are going. I read a dog’s emotional state by paying attention to the eyes, posture, energy level, and how the dog positions itself around other dogs. I also look for signs of confidence, stress, or dominance during interactions, such as the way a dog approaches, avoids, or lies down in social situations. This allows me to adapt my approach so that every dog feels safe and understood. During walks, I enjoy visiting natural environments such as parks or green areas where the dog can relax, explore, and comfortably do its business. I focus on calm, structured walks where the dog receives both physical exercise and mental stimulation. I am confident handling dogs on a leash and can maintain good control in different situations. If a dog is allowed off-leash, I know how to apply reliable recall and how to keep the dog safe and engaged. I am also experienced in walking two dogs at the same time, so that is absolutely no problem for me. For a regular walk, you can expect me to walk with the dog for at least 40 minutes. Something else that may be reassuring for owners to know is that I am currently looking into part-time (16-hour) remote work that can be done fully independently. This means I am not tied to an office or stuck in long meetings, which allows me to dedicate a lot of time and attention to the dog and the house. I am definitely not someone who is busy working all day and only quickly takes the dog out in between tasks — caring for the dog is genuinely my main priority. I may occasionally handle some light administrative work during the day, but aside from that, I am mainly present, flexible, and attentive. Because of this, I can keep a close eye on both the dog and the home, and owners can trust that everything will be calm, safe, and well taken care of. What I am currently in between jobs and taking the time to explore what I want to do long-term. One thing that is very clear to me is that I want my future to involve dogs in some way, whether that becomes dog training, behavioral guidance, or something similar. I am still figuring out exactly how I want to shape that path, but I think it is great that I can already gain valuable hands-on experience by caring for and spending time with different dogs through dog sitting and walking. At the moment, I have a flexible schedule and am mainly available during weekdays from late morning until the end of the afternoon. Unfortunately, Rover does not offer an exact option for this, but in practice I am generally available between 10 AM and 5 PM to look after your dog at home or take your dog out for walks. Since I personally love walking as well, owners can expect me to take dogs on long, enjoyable walks with plenty of attention and care. I am also exploring the possibility of starting a part-time remote job later this summer for around 16 hours per week. The type of work I am looking at would be fully home-based, flexible, and low-pressure, without meetings or appointments that would require me to leave the house. Because of that, I would still have more than enough time, attention, and flexibility to properly care for dogs throughout the day. The dog’s wellbeing, attention, and routine would always remain my main priority while I am looking after them. Weekends can be a bit more difficult for me, although I may still be available depending on the situation, so you are always welcome to send me a message to check availability I currently live in an apartment complex and do not have a private garden, which means fulltime dog boarding at my home can be a bit more limited depending on the dog and the situation. However, if your dog only needs to stay somewhere for a few hours for example, to bridge part of the day rather than staying an entire day or overnight that is absolutely possible at my place. My apartment is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a dog for shorter periods of time. I already do this regularly with one of my parents’ dogs to help them out from time to time, so I am experienced in having dogs stay with me in a calm and comfortable environment. Of course, this is always coordinated properly, which means that if I am caring for your dog, there will not unexpectedly be another dog present unless discussed beforehand. I also genuinely enjoy being outdoors and spending active, quality time with dogs. With my own family dogs, I love doing simple things like playing with a tennis ball or a toy, practicing little tricks, going for walks, relaxing outside together, cuddling, and giving them attention. For me, it is really the small moments and connection with a dog that make it enjoyable, and spending time with dogs genuinely gives me a lot of energy and happiness. One important thing to mention is that Rover sometimes requires me to select fixed availability options that do not fully reflect how flexible I actually am. Because of that, it is possible that I may not always appear in certain search results. In reality, my availability is often much more flexible and depends a bit on the specific day and situation. So please feel free to send me a message, even if my profile settings seem limited I am usually more flexible than the Rover options may suggest.

Over: I’ve taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember. Starting with my first dog which was an energetic King Charles spaniel to my now two dogs, one a very hyper Labrador and the other a very high energy golden retriever, Australian shepherd cross. In between taking care of them, taking them on hikes, to rivers and just everyday walks I’ve also done some pet sitting for my neighbours the last 4 years. I have experience with small puppies to older dogs, low energy and high energy dogs all with different needs. I’ve been to puppy trainings with all three of my dogs and have put a lot of extra care into their nutrition too. I’m currently studying at the university of Amsterdam so I have plenty of time to come look after, check in, or walk your pets at any point of the day. Wethers it’s during the week or the weekend I am very flexible to adjust my schedule. I have experience walking my two large dogs and dogs of all other breeds and sizes so you can feel assured I know what I’m doing when it comes to keeping your pets safe.

Over: I recently moved away from home, and I really miss my dog! I love walking her, and was hoping to find a new friend to walk. I’ve previously also walked dogs in my other neighborhood:) My routine is quite diverse under the week, so it’s dependent on the day! However I am almost always free to walk on the weekends!! Over: Sinds jongs af aan heb ik een grote liefde voor honden. Toen ik jonger was wilde ik al heel graag een eigen hond, en samen met mijn zus hadden we vaste adressen waar we honden mochten uitlaten. Dat deden we altijd met veel plezier. Vanaf mijn 16e heb ik samen met mijn moeder en zus ook een eigen hond gehad, waardoor ik ervaring heb met de dagelijkse verzorging, wandelen en aandacht geven aan een hond. Helaas is mijn moeder drie jaar geleden overleden en hebben we ons hondje een nieuw liefdevol thuis moeten geven, omdat we haar niet meer de tijd en aandacht konden geven die ze verdiende. Daarom is oppassen voor mij een hele fijne manier om weer tijd met honden door te brengen. Op dit moment heb ik veel tijd om voor huisdieren te zorgen. Mijn studie begint pas weer op 13 april en ik werk momenteel niet, waardoor ik flexibel beschikbaar ben om tijd met hondjes door te brengen – iets wat ik ook echt heel leuk vind om te doen. Wanneer mijn studie weer begint, ben ik nog steeds goed beschikbaar, omdat het grotendeels thuisstudie is. Ik wandel zelf graag buiten, dus het lijkt me alleen maar leuk om dit samen met een hond te doen. Daarnaast vind ik het belangrijk om dieren veel aandacht en zorg te geven, zodat ze zich op hun gemak voelen. Ik woon op de eerste verdieping in een appartement van ongeveer 50 m² in Amsterdam samen met mijn zus (ook hondenliefhebber). Er is een ruim balkon waar hondjes frisse lucht kunnen krijgen. In de buurt ligt het Flevopark, een groot park waar ik graag langere wandelingen maak met de honden. Bij mij thuis zorg ik ervoor dat honden zich veilig en op hun gemak voelen, met voldoende aandacht, rust en beweging. Als ik bij het baasje thuis oppas, volg ik natuurlijk zoveel mogelijk de routine van het dier, zoals de gebruikelijke wandelmomenten en eet momenten.

I have Otto, my slightly mischievous orange cat, who has been part of my life for 5 years. 🐱 We rescued him from a small village in Spain where he had been abandoned and had almost lost an eye.
