Over: I recently moved away from home, and I really miss my dog! I love walking her, and was hoping to find a new friend to walk. I’ve previously also walked dogs in my other neighborhood:) My routine is quite diverse under the week, so it’s dependent on the day! However I am almost always free to walk on the weekends!! I sadly can’t have animals in my home, however I would be willing to talk about offering pet sitting, depending on when and how long :)

Over: Two Dalmatians, a chihuahua, a Pomeranian and three mutts were my siblings growing up. I grew up with dogs and have had four in total, two of which still live with my parents. Because of this, I have gained a lot of experience with different personalities, including more challenging and high-energy dogs. As a result, I know how to interact with dogs in a calm, clear, and confident way. I am also very good at reading canine communication, such as body language, posture, and behavior, which allows me to prevent escalation and step in when necessary. At the moment, I am exploring what I want to do in the future, and it is clear to me that it will involve dogs in some way, such as training or guidance. In the meantime, I have the time and flexibility to spend a lot of time with dogs, and there is honestly nothing I enjoy more. Being a dog sitter is therefore the perfect way for me to do something I genuinely love while also gaining even more experience and getting to know different dogs. To me, dogs are much more than just pets. I truly enjoy spending time with them and giving them the attention they deserve. I personally love going on walks, so taking a dog along is not only enjoyable company for me, but also a great balance where both the dog and I benefit from spending time outdoors. I find it very important that a dog feels safe, calm, and comfortable, which is why I always pay close attention to the individual character and needs of each dog. I actually enjoy working with more challenging or highly sensitive dogs as well. I stay calm, provide clear structure, and take the time to build trust so the dog knows what to expect. During walks, I pay close attention to the surroundings, safety, and the dog’s own signals. Owners can expect me to be responsible, reliable, and genuinely involved, and to treat their dog with patience, attention, and care. Clear communication is also very important to me, so owners always know how things are going. I read a dog’s emotional state by paying attention to the eyes, posture, energy level, and how the dog positions itself around other dogs. I also look for signs of confidence, stress, or dominance during interactions, such as the way a dog approaches, avoids, or lies down in social situations. This allows me to adapt my approach so that every dog feels safe and understood. During walks, I enjoy visiting natural environments such as parks or green areas where the dog can relax, explore, and comfortably do its business. I focus on calm, structured walks where the dog receives both physical exercise and mental stimulation. I am confident handling dogs on a leash and can maintain good control in different situations. If a dog is allowed off-leash, I know how to apply reliable recall and how to keep the dog safe and engaged. I am also experienced in walking two dogs at the same time, so that is absolutely no problem for me. For a regular walk, you can expect me to walk with the dog for at least 40 minutes. Something else that may be reassuring for owners to know is that I am currently looking into part-time (16-hour) remote work that can be done fully independently. This means I am not tied to an office or stuck in long meetings, which allows me to dedicate a lot of time and attention to the dog and the house. I am definitely not someone who is busy working all day and only quickly takes the dog out in between tasks — caring for the dog is genuinely my main priority. I may occasionally handle some light administrative work during the day, but aside from that, I am mainly present, flexible, and attentive. Because of this, I can keep a close eye on both the dog and the home, and owners can trust that everything will be calm, safe, and well taken care of. What I am currently in between jobs and taking the time to explore what I want to do long-term. One thing that is very clear to me is that I want my future to involve dogs in some way, whether that becomes dog training, behavioral guidance, or something similar. I am still figuring out exactly how I want to shape that path, but I think it is great that I can already gain valuable hands-on experience by caring for and spending time with different dogs through dog sitting and walking. At the moment, I have a flexible schedule and am mainly available during weekdays from late morning until the end of the afternoon. Unfortunately, Rover does not offer an exact option for this, but in practice I am generally available between 10 AM and 5 PM to look after your dog at home or take your dog out for walks. Since I personally love walking as well, owners can expect me to take dogs on long, enjoyable walks with plenty of attention and care. I am also exploring the possibility of starting a part-time remote job later this summer for around 16 hours per week. The type of work I am looking at would be fully home-based, flexible, and low-pressure, without meetings or appointments that would require me to leave the house. Because of that, I would still have more than enough time, attention, and flexibility to properly care for dogs throughout the day. The dog’s wellbeing, attention, and routine would always remain my main priority while I am looking after them. Weekends can be a bit more difficult for me, although I may still be available depending on the situation, so you are always welcome to send me a message to check availability I currently live in an apartment complex and do not have a private garden, which means fulltime dog boarding at my home can be a bit more limited depending on the dog and the situation. However, if your dog only needs to stay somewhere for a few hours for example, to bridge part of the day rather than staying an entire day or overnight that is absolutely possible at my place. My apartment is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a dog for shorter periods of time. I already do this regularly with one of my parents’ dogs to help them out from time to time, so I am experienced in having dogs stay with me in a calm and comfortable environment. Of course, this is always coordinated properly, which means that if I am caring for your dog, there will not unexpectedly be another dog present unless discussed beforehand. I also genuinely enjoy being outdoors and spending active, quality time with dogs. With my own family dogs, I love doing simple things like playing with a tennis ball or a toy, practicing little tricks, going for walks, relaxing outside together, cuddling, and giving them attention. For me, it is really the small moments and connection with a dog that make it enjoyable, and spending time with dogs genuinely gives me a lot of energy and happiness. One important thing to mention is that Rover sometimes requires me to select fixed availability options that do not fully reflect how flexible I actually am. Because of that, it is possible that I may not always appear in certain search results. In reality, my availability is often much more flexible and depends a bit on the specific day and situation. I was also responsible for pick-up and drop-off, which involved being trusted with access to clients’ homes. Alongside this, I carried out house calls to help socialise dogs or check in on those who didn’t require a full day of on-site daycare. At the daycare facility, I comfortably handled groups of up to ten dogs of varying breeds, sizes, and temperaments on walks in the local woodlands. As demand grew, I expanded my services to include house and pet sitting across several nearby villages and towns. Over the years, I have cared for a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, and guinea pigs, and I am also happy to tend to gardens or house plants when needed. After moving to Utrecht for my studies, I began offering my own dog walking and pet sitting services to pet owners that I met in the city or at surrounding walking spots. During my time in Utrecht, I also worked for a local hondenuitlaat service, which gave me experience with a lot of common (and some less common) Dutch breeds. A few years later, I am now living in Amsterdam, working full-time with dogs at a fantastic farm facility outside of the city, and finishing up my Master's degree. I work a few days a week at a dog daycare organisation on a rural farmland property outside of Amsterdam. On my working days, if I am looking after a dog, I like to bring them with me so that they can socialise with the pack. All transport is done using a fully converted, dog-friendly wagon with additional AC (and lots of cookies!). If a dog needs to be left alone or doesn't get along with other dogs, this can also be easily accommodated during the day in a safe, penned-off area at the facility. On my days off, I am entirely flexible and work from home while finishing my Master's thesis, making my routine highly compatible with dedicated pet care. I live with my girlfriend in a large, multi-room apartment in the Rivierenbuurt neighbourhood of Amsterdam. The location is convenient for dogs and humans alike, being just a short walk from several metro stations and with easy drop-off outside via street access. We are lucky to be located just a stone's throw away from Beatrixpark and Martin Luther Kingpark, with the Amstel and the Amsterdamse Bos close by, providing some wonderful green spaces right on our doorstep for daily walks. Our apartment has two balconies (one of which gets the sun all day long ☀️☀️☀️) and plenty of comfy space inside for dogs to relax. All my dog guests get an entire room to themselves to ensure they have their own quiet and safe space to rest—unless, of course, they prefer to cuddle up with us on the sofa or in bed... Because of my professional background managing packs, safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities, whether looking after a pet in my home or yours.

Over: I’ve taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember. Starting with my first dog which was an energetic King Charles spaniel to my now two dogs, one a very hyper Labrador and the other a very high energy golden retriever, Australian shepherd cross. In between taking care of them, taking them on hikes, to rivers and just everyday walks I’ve also done some pet sitting for my neighbours the last 4 years. I have experience with small puppies to older dogs, low energy and high energy dogs all with different needs. I’ve been to puppy trainings with all three of my dogs and have put a lot of extra care into their nutrition too. I’m currently studying at the university of Amsterdam so I have plenty of time to come look after, check in, or walk your pets at any point of the day. Wethers it’s during the week or the weekend I am very flexible to adjust my schedule. I have experience walking my two large dogs and dogs of all other breeds and sizes so you can feel assured I know what I’m doing when it comes to keeping your pets safe.

Over: I’ve taken care of dogs since being a kid. Since 10 years more seriously taking care of dogs within and outside family/friends circle. So have experience with different kind of dogs. During the day I am studying full time. So taking care of pets would be fitting for me more in the evenings and weekends than during weekdays. That depends on the type of dog of course. Take the dogs out for walks to get enough movement, but also make sure to have some play time in between and if necessary grooming.

I’m also available early mornings and in the evenings when needed. On weekends, I’m fully flexible and available for longer stays or extended pet care. Over: Hi! I've taken care of several pets, in high school I used to take care of my neighbours dog, I took care of my other neighbours cats, I have a little birdie at home myself :). I do not have experience with medical applications such as injections, but I am more than happy to company your buddies and take care od their needs! I'm currently studying, this semester is calmer than usual so most of my week is free. So I am quite flexible with scheduling! Although during exam weeks I will be less available than usual. Since I live in a student housing, I cannot bring little buddies home with me :(. However, I love spending time with them anywhere! I can company them at home according to house rules, or we can go on walks or play at parks.

I have normally full availability the weekends and during the week after 18:30pm. After September I will have full availability for both boarding and staying over.
