“Mary took great care of our cat Lucy who can be a little shy. Mary followed all of our instructions and even convinced Lucy to cuddle a bit. I also liked all of the pictures. Thanks again, Mary!”

“Tommy did drop-in visits my dog and my 2 cats while my mom and I were away to visit family, AND he even accepted my last minute added visits as well. Let me say, I’m extremely grateful for that and for how we took care of our animals. I looked forward to each “Drop-In Card” that Tommy filled out and the pictures he took in each one. Potty breaks, food breaks, water breaks, and even took care of the litter for us. I’m grateful for his kindness. I highly would recommend Tommy ❤️ My pets were in great hands!”

“Sarah was a lifesaver for our last minute request to watch our cats! She was amazing with Marlin and Lola… 2 very different 🐈🐈⬛personalties. We got lots of PICTs and messages… 💯 % recommend Sarah!”

“Allison was punctual, thorough, and a delight to work with. This was the first time we left our two kitties at home alone but everything was fine, thanks to her care!”

“Lyndsay is always available when we need her and flexible! No one I'd trust more to deal with my cat's medications while I'm away. Very detailed updates too which is a relief.”

“Michaels the best! He’s helped us multiple times with overnight stays & quick drop ins. Our very selective dog & our shy cat both love him. He went above & beyond when we were away during a big snow storm & couldn’t get home to our pets. He cleared a pathway for our dog to go outside, cleared snow away from vents attached to our home & still managed to keep our pets active & exercised in the frigid temps. Everyone needs a Michael for their pets!”

“Brandon as excellent! He took care of our kitties while we were traveling for our wedding and they could not have been in safer hands. Brandon was communicative, sent fun pictures of the cats, and went out of his way to ensure they were comfortable and happy.”

“Jess was so responsive and helpful and kind. Our puppy needed special care after surgery, and medication too, as well as removal and replacement of his e dollar so he could eat and drink. She did an amazing job, and kept me informed. We really needed help and she came through. Would 💯 recommend. Thank you Jessica!”

“I cannot recommend Gary enough to anyone new to Rover or the local area. Gary was an excellent communicator, eager to help out, and took amazing care of my two cats. He sent pictures and updates every time he visited and I had full confidence that my cats were getting the care and love they needed while I was away. If I could give 6 stars I would!”

“Kaitlyn was an amazing pet sitter for our 120 pound great pyr/ GSD mix! While our dog can be a bit tough meeting new people, Kaitlyn dove right in and provided regular check ins, potty breaks, and playtime for our boy. Would highly recommend!”

“Teneisha did a wonderful job looking after my two cats. She is very professional and made me feel at ease knowing they were in good hands. She played with them, fed them, sent daily updates with pictures. Will definitely book again next time I’m away from home.”

About: I've cared for dogs since I was young and have handled dogs both large and small. I've cared for cats since 2019, I am newer to them technically, but I love how different they can be. I run my own business, so making my own hours allows me a lot of wiggle room on doing check-ins or rearranging my day to allow for walks. My home is a temple to good vibes and my happy lil buddies (Sprout and Tansy) get along with everyone they've met so far.
About: Almost 2 years of pet food store retail experience with training courses on pet care, basic pet training and deep knowledge of pet nutrition. Taken care of both my dogs since puppies (now 9, and 1 years old). I volunteer with several rescues and have helped set up fundraising/exposure events to help rescue pets find a home! I’m a full time student at Duquesne University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. I’m relatively flexible and just work around my class schedule. I have plenty of experience with my own two dogs, both being rescues, and plenty more experience with customer pets that would come into the store. I also volunteer with rescues shelters walking, bathing, and taking them to the park.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Newfield
Mary noticed an alert from a smoke detector while we were away and made sure to alert me and report that it was taken care of at her next visit. She went out of the way to make sure it was a safe environment for my cat while i was out of the country. The piece of mind that gives is priceless.

Kathryn , thank you! I am so appreciative of the efforts you made to locate our hiding Mr Gibbs, and attempts at engaging him out from his “not so un- obvious hideout”! Yes, he does leave “clues” around the house as to his 👻presence when opening doors and drawers. I am glad you detected “nose prints” signaling an appetite. 🤣. Your communication at each visit was so appreciated . We felt safe and secure knowing you were watching and caring for him!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Newfield. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
