About: I believe that every child should grow up with the unconditional love of a pet. We rescued our first to grow up with our adult daughter and our newest addition has grown up with my teenage daughter. Their dogs have ultimately become my dogs because I secretly enjoy their company ☺️ Like Many, Working from home had become the normal and now that many of you are returning to in person work schedules I've decided to care for fur babies that have grown accustomed to the warmth and undivided attention of their companions. I'm free most weekdays. And after drop offs my Koby 🐶 and I go on walks in the neighborhood. And we venture the school's neighborhood at pickup. So in between your pet can be as lazy or as active as he, she or they wants. I have a large fenced back yard for playing and a huge front and back porch for lounging. Our home provides open space and cozy spaces for relaxing.

About: I watch dogs in my home. Your dog will have plenty of play time with my dogs in my fenced in yard, daily walks, and I enjoy training basic commands and leash walking. *Note: I am not the right fit for dogs who need to be the only dog in the sitter’s home. As a mental health therapist with an anxious dog of my own, I am particularly attentive to your dog’s body language, signs of discomfort, and unique personality. As a dog owner myself, I empathize that it truly sucks that you can’t just text your dog to ask how they’re doing when they’re in another person’s care. My aim is for the next time you arrive at my home, your pup’s booty will wiggle and communicate it all! In the meantime, I welcome your check ins and am happy to send you plenty of pictures and detailed updates. I work from home M-F with a flexible schedule that allows for plenty of yard play and neighborhood walks. Because my work hours are different each day, mid day dog walking is not possible for me unless you live in the Hyattsville/Bladensburg/Riverdale area of Maryland. Communication, safety, and advocating for your dog’s needs are of utmost importance to me. For example, my dog loves trail runs, hikes, and trips to the dog park. Should your dog enjoy any of those activities, you can trust that I will be attentive to their needs and advocate for them in different environments. If you’re not sure but want me to try, I’ll be attuned to your dog’s cues and respect their communication. I will not push them past their limits - they need to know I have their back. I have one large and one small crate should your dog be used to crate sleeping or in the process of crate training. Let’s discuss what your dog needs to feel comfortable when we connect.

About: I grew up with a bunch of smaller pets, mostly fish and hamsters, and finally convinced my parents to adopt a dog when I was in high school. I moved away from home and miss her dearly, but I’m excited to bring the patience and love of animals I learned with my pets to yours! I’m experienced with shelter animals after volunteering at one for some time and am so excited to meet your pet! I have a 55 pound standard poodle named Roshe that I adopted in 2023, and will need to have a meet and greet before hosting your pet. I work full time, but can work from home 2-3 days a week, and my fiancée works from home all of the time, making it easy for the two of us to care for your pets! I've walked a variety of dogs at my local animal shelter for some time and can handle pets with a variety of needs. I'm pretty active and can get your dog all of the exercises they need while keeping them safe.

About: I I've been caring for dogs since I was little. I've always had dogs and cats at home. I loved them very much. Neighbors trusted me to care for their pets. I often helped with their medications, fed them, took them for walks, and looked after them when they went on trips. So I have experience caring for several breeds. I have a flexible work schedule so I will be available most of the week, and I have all weekends free. I also have a great schedule flexibility so I can take care of your dogs at my house or at yours. I live in a cozy apartment with a lot Space, I also have a very comfortable bed for dogs and cats, I have my own car

About: I can do anything from walking to giving baths or from filling food and water to providing medicine 🐾 I’m okay with dogs of all ages and sizes from puppies to pitbulls and from the sick to the elderly 🙂 I work remotely so it fits in quite easily. I live in Buffalo Grove and my office is in Evanston (when I do decide to go into work), so really anywhere in the suburbs I’m willing to drive to! Any special instructions will be listened to and I will take great care of your pet(s). Hopefully things work out and you can be a regular-ish client!

About: I had a dog for four and half years but sadly he passed away in March at a very young age. I used to love taking my dog for a long walk around the neighborhood. I know all the potty training and how to feed them. I’m a first time mom so I stay home during the week. On the weekends like Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays I work. I would definitely do it during the weekdays I have a big gate in the backyard. There’s another dog in the house but he’s mostly in the basement. I used to take my old dog in the front very trained up.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, piranha, bunnies, turtles and rodents. I have always loved and seen animals as the more primal side of our nature but that’s one of the purest forms of love that one can give! I am currently working full time at NIH, and after about 3:30pm, I work with animals around my community. Weekends I like to volunteer with people struggling with bigger dogs and temperament issues. Walking and leash training is key in my experience I have a fenced in yard and one cat that has been spayed and ready to have some company for good time and to keep them safe!

About: I've had outrageous animals from a very young age. I had a puppy that got kicked out from training school 😂. Because of that experience, I'm a very patient sitter that knows all about neurotic dogs, and anxious cats. I'm happy to take all the time I need to make sure your animal is comfortable with me. I set aside time each day specifically for walks, feedings, playtime, and check-ins to ensure pets feel safe, happy, and loved. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or a client’s, I structure my schedule around their needs—keeping consistent meal times, potty breaks, and exercise sessions. My flexible work schedule allows me to give each pet the attention and care they deserve throughout the day, including early mornings and evenings when needed. When caring for pets in your home, I treat it with the same respect and care I give to the animals themselves. I follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible to keep them feeling safe, relaxed, and happy in their own environment. I make sure feeding, walks, playtime, and potty breaks all happen on schedule. I clean litter boxes daily, wipe up any messes, and always leave your space as tidy (or tidier!) than I found it. I’m also experienced with administering medications and handling pets with special needs or anxiety. My goal is to provide consistent companionship and comfort while you’re away—so your pets stay happy, healthy, and stress-free in the place they love most: home.

“April would be a great dog walker due to her previous experience as a dog walker in New Zealand, and with dogs in general. She is very good with my parent's dog, who after only knowing her for a couple of days, went to her during a thunder storm. She also used to have two dogs herself, taking one of them through training school. I own a cat with April, as she is a kind and caring owner, who always makes sure our cat's needs are met.”
