About: I grew up with 2 dogs (and completely dog training classes with them) and had a miniature dachshund as an adult. I love all breeds and know what an important part of the family they are :) I do not currently have a pet due to family responsibilities and miss spending time with dogs, so I am looking forward to loving on your pup! I am currently a stay at home mom, so I have time during the days to help provide your pet with potty breaks and walks. I love being outdoors and going on walks, so I would be happy to play fetch and give your dog some exercise. My dachshund's favorite spot in the house was on my lap, so I am also an excellent cuddler of dogs of all sizes (including the ones that think they are small dogs!). Our pets deserve all the love we can give them. I will be happy to follow your instructions to the letter so that you know your pup is in good hands while you are away. I am happy to provide walks, playtime, potty breaks, medication dispensing, paw cleaning if wet/salty outside, and more. I am looking forward to working with you and your pet!

About: I have a way with animals. Pets that don't like people typically tend to be my best friends. I have always loved animals ever since I was little. My goal is to be friends with every animal I meet. You have fun and I will make sure your pet does as well. I work full time in sales, so I am quite flexible. I can typically work my schedule to fit around what I need to do. I am happy to drop in and hung out with your pet while you are away. I love to go for walks, so I will be happy to tire a pet out with some good walk time.

About: My husband and I loved our dog for 10 years. We can’t get another one anytime soon but will love yours like our own. We both had dogs as pets growing up and have cared for a pet for 40+ years. I am an elementary school principal. I am available for full-time care or walking June-August. Outside of that, I’m available full-time on the weekends and evenings during the week. We are available to accommodate personal requests, a safe environment and safe neighborhood. We are looking to provide care for your beloved pet and to help you out when needed.

Another great booking with Jen for dog walks during the month of October ! Jen is always professional and a great communicator who really cares about her clients & their pets. It’s been invaluable having her available to take our high energy German shepherd puppy outside and on a walk while we are at work this month, it really helps reduce the chaos when we get home in the evening!

Terri was so great with my pup! He’s had issues pooping in his crate while being potty trained but she graciously helped with the cleanup while giving him the exercise he needed midday. And she sent plenty of updates so I knew what I’d be in for when I got home! I can’t thank you enough Terri!

About: Hello, I am 24 and love animals. I have always had dogs in my house (large dogs). Now I have my own dog with my Husband. I have lots of experience helping out family with caring for animals and then started branching out through word of mouth. I know how much I struggle to find a pet sitter I trust and want to be that person for others. I’m currently working at a dental office and on a break from school. Thankfully me and my husband have a great routine and balance with our pup that I can be flexible with my schedule for your pup. I would love to provide your dog with anything it may need. From snuggles and love to a quick bathroom break. I love to get steps in during my day as well and can always bring your pup along.

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and one of my favorite activities was walking with them. It’s always great to get fresh air and it helps our furry friends blow off some steam. I would be a great walker for your fur baby because I love animals, reliable, and ready to walk in any weather. I’m currently working part time and can put walking in my schedule on my free time. I’m working on making extra money for school. I try to take care of pets however the owner would like. I understood keeping them on a schedule or giving more attention is needed.

  • 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
