About: Hi, I’m Melissa! With a lifetime of experience caring for animals, I’m passionate about providing safe, compassionate, and enriching care for your pets. I grew up with dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, and even amphibians, so I’m comfortable with a wide range of animal friends. I spent two years working at an animal shelter, where I gained hands-on experience with animals of all kinds. I also worked as a professional dog walker and pet sitter for another company for two years. During this time, I honed my skills in animal behavior, giving me valuable insight into how to keep pets happy and stress-free. In addition to a degree in biology, I have four years of volunteer experience in wildlife rehabilitation, which deepened my understanding of animal care and wellbeing. I’d love the opportunity to care for your pets like my own and give them a wonderful experience while you’re away! Pet care is something I truly enjoy and look forward to as part of my routine. I'm available throughout the day and can accommodate up to 3–4 visits daily to fit your pet's schedule. Whether your pet needs potty breaks, feeding, playtime, medication, cuddles, or exercise, I'm committed to providing reliable, personalized care. For dogs with a little extra energy, I'm also happy to offer runs instead of walks. My goal is to make every visit a positive experience and help your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. In my clients' homes, I aim to make pets feel as comfortable and secure as possible. I follow their usual routines, from feeding schedules to favorite playtime activities, and I pay close attention to any special needs or preferences they have. With my background in animal behavior and experience across various types of pets, I’m skilled at recognizing body language and adapting to each pet’s unique personality. My goal is to create a calm, happy environment for pets, so they feel at ease and cared for while their family is away.

About: I’ve been pet sitting my neighbors dogs since I was 15. This summer I spent 2 months in Greece taking care of 100+ pound dogs! I have plenty of experience giving animals their medicine and grooming if needed! I am a full time student majoring in Animal Behavior, with many gaps in my schedule to have enough time for your animal! I am the most free on the weekend but have time throughout the weekdays! As I am a student I do not have my family dog with me. However I would love to treat your dog as my own and care for them greatly!
“Justine came over before her scheduled walk to meet the dogs and was very friendly! Basil seemed to enjoy her first walk and there were no issues at all. We will hire her again!”

I have experience with giving dogs medication and am able to help out with that as well. I watched a few dogs in the past that were seniors and needed special care with meds so I have experience in that category:) at the moment i am not working so this actually works out very well with me im relatively open for pet care:) i just have a few scattered doctors appointments throughout the week in my clients home I will make sure to follow any rules and or guidelines that are expected of the animals and myself obviously as I am in someone else’s home..
“I injured my back and needed someone to walk my dogs for a few days until I was cleared to do so. Kandice was great and managed to walk both of my dogs (one of which is a very bouncy and freakishly strong for his size puppy) together with no issues. I'm very grateful for her help and will reach out to Kandice again if I need help in the future.”

Ashley was lovely and caring when it came to my dog. She very attentive to how hot he’d get on walks and made sure to not push him too far. She also ensured he had ample water and cool down time. I found Ashley reliable and trustworthy. She’ll definitely go the extra mile for you as well-as she’d often bring in my mail or a package when she stopped by. Her attention to details was very much appreciated.

Don't listen to Joanne. Maleri is amazing, she has been so incredibly helpful and wonderful taking care of Dante. Whether it's a last-minute walk request or a modification due to weather, Maleri does everything in her power to help ensure Dante is taken care of! Thank you, Maleri!!!

Samantha did a great job caring for our puppy during the day! She stopped by twice for walks, had clear communication throughout the entire process, and sent photo updates which gave us peace of mind while we were away. It was obvious she genuinely cared about our puppy and made sure she was well taken care of. We would definitely recommend Samantha to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter/walker!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
