Im currently working a part time postion while still in online college courses so I will have plently of time on my hands to cater to your furry friends needs. I have a very big and open yard that is fenced in on all sides as well as my own dog that lives with me.
About: I have had a dog my whole life and love playing with him, walking him, and running with him. I always take care of the dog I used to have and play with him all day long. He was very active and playful so I am used to dogs who are a little bit more energetic. I have a passion for animals and love being around them and having them in my house. I am super friendly and will always be willing to do whatever it is you need for your dog. I will provide many different things for us to do including: going for a walk around a park or even the beach. I will always accept any dog of a variety of sizes to walk and play with. I used to also walk with Wag! for about 5 years! I love playing with the dogs bringing them for walks and just being around them. I can walk at night during the week and all day on weekends. I am a teacher so summers I am more free to walk more as well! I will do whatever is needed to provide the best care. I always follow instructions carefully and never forget anything! I always provide extra time for play and cuddles!

About: I’ve been caring for cats for years, including my own cat, Spot. Through daily care, I’ve learned to understand feline behavior, respect each cat’s unique personality, and provide a calm, loving environment. I’m experienced with feeding, cleaning litter boxes, playtime, administering oral medications when needed, and making sure cats feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their families are away. My schedule is flexible, and I’m available for morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend visits. I’ll do my best to accommodate your cat’s routine and your scheduling needs. Your cat’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a calm, respectful environment, carefully follow your care instructions, and treat your home with the same care I would my own. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can feel confident while you’re away.

About: I have l had the responsibility of taking care of my home pets ever since I could remember. We’ve always had a full house with dogs, cats, turtles, lizards, guinea pigs, chickens, and even a macaw. I have experience with senior dogs that require extra care as I have one of my own. I have also taken a few puppy training classes that I have used on my dogs as well as pups of close friends. Most of my pets have been rescues and I was able to use those skills to break bad, destructive habits that could’ve resulted in injury. I am currently a full time college student and a part time medical assistant at an urgent care clinic. Typically, I would have the most time to commit to intensive pet care in the early mornings, early afternoons, late evenings, and weekends. My dogs are crate trained and my pets typically spend their nights in their designated areas. In the mornings everyone is opened, greeted with many pets and kisses, and fed. The dogs are walked and trained for a bit before my departure. I make sure to leave a few brain engaging toys/ treats while gone for the day. Once I return, the process is repeated with a longer evening walk and extra cuddle time. My senior dog required a bit more attention with daily injections and a specific diet. I am sure I would take care of your pet with the same care and love I give my pets.

“Jessica was great with our little Gracie. She was attentive and patient as she is still a pup! We were so happy she was able to care for her during our wedding weekend away!”

“Kayla sent many updates and photos. She was very conscientious about following all of my instructions which is very important because Zoey is a senior dog. I think Kayla truly enjoyed taking care of Zoey. The house was so neat, I could barely tell she was here.”

About: My entire life I have had a plethora of pets, from dogs and cats to birds and rats. I am an animal lover of all shapes, sounds, and sizes and I will strive to make sure that your pet feels the same love and affection that I show towards my own! 🐱🐶 I work a full-time job as a daycare teacher every weekday from 8:30am-5pm, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have time for your loving pet! I am available any weekday you need me after 5pm for evening walks, some feeding time, and maybe even an extra treat or two! I also hold open availability on weekends for pet sitting, walks, feedings, and anything you may need! When being in my clients home I vow to hold respect and carefulness. It is not my home and I will treat it as such, with that being said I am comfortable doing any task the owner has set for me to perform within the home!
“My wife and I had a wedding to attend down in Florida, and most of the friends and family that would normally watch our dogs were unavailable. We reached out to Kristie on short notice to see if she was available to watch them while we were away. She responded promptly, and came by to meet our dogs (Bandit & Bailey) within a couple of days. I could immediately tell she knew what she was doing as she walked through our door and was able to deflect our crazy jumper (Bandit, high-energy 100lb black lab) effortlessly. After talking over our typical routine, and playing a bit of fetch outside, I felt confident that she would be a great fit. We booked her that day. Days later, we finally made our way down to Florida and our pups were in Kristie's hands. From the very first day, she did a great job following their typical routine, and gave them quite a bit of exercise playing fetch out in the back yard. She sent a bunch of photos, and it was clear to us that they were very happy doggos! It really put our minds at ease, and allowed us to enjoy our little wedding vacation. I will definitely be reaching out to Kristie to have her watch our dogs again. She did a great job, and as I mentioned earlier, our black lab Bandit can be handful, and she handled it without a problem. For anyone else reading this, look no further, Kristie is the best.”

About: I’ve had the pleasure of caring for animals for over 10 years and have experience with a variety of species, including dogs, cats, and small animals. My passion for animal care led me to complete a semester of Animal Science coursework at Bristol Community College, where I gained knowledge in animal behavior, health, nutrition, and handling. I take the time to build trust with every pet, using positive reinforcement and patience to help them feel comfortable. I’ll also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
“My very young, but large and high-energy dog did exceedingly well with Connor. Having come into my life last October, I had not once left Chance in the care of anyone else. I was, of course, a bit nervous about how he would fare. He was rescued from a terrible situation and suffers from anxiety. I’ve worked hard to help Chance adjust, and I have made good progress. I had no reason to fear! Connor knew instinctively how to connect with Chance, and it is clear that I had the right person for this dog! I highly recommend Connor and thank him for taking a chance on Chance!”

“Darcy did an amazing job on our first overnight away from our pups. She followed our instructions to a t and left our home and pups like she found them. Very friendly and great with updates. Look forward to booking her again in the future!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - New Bedford
Marcia was great at house-sitting my fur-baby Luca. She went above and beyond and put my mind at ease. I was away on family business that was very difficult and I never leave my dog home. He usually is on the plane right with me. So, because I wasn’t able to bring him this time, I was very nervous to leave him. I have no complaints. She always kept me updated with pictures and videos and I must say, Luca had an amazing time. She took him for many walks, the dog park, and he cuddled with her every night. ☺️ When I got home, I think he was more exhausted than me. I will definitely be hiring Marcia whenever we need a sitter. 10/10

Kayla sent many updates and photos. She was very conscientious about following all of my instructions which is very important because Zoey is a senior dog. I think Kayla truly enjoyed taking care of Zoey. The house was so neat, I could barely tell she was here.

Liza has stayed with our pups while we have been on vacation a handful of times and she is excellent with them despite their very different personalities. We always leave with the confidence that she will hold down the fort and we are so very grateful for her.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred New Bedford walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in New Bedford maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in New Bedford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in New Bedford. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
