“Our pup, Oscar, has stayed with Tara twice now and both times has come home happy and tired! We completely trust her with taking good care of our fur child. Thanks again, Tara!”

“Sunny took such good care of my dog & sent me lots of pictures during his stay! He had a great time & a lot of fun with Sammy & everyone else. I highly recommend Sunny for anyone looking for a sitter.”

“Sierra was great! My dog Gus came home happy, exercised, and with a well-needed trim :) Sierra made sure to communicate often and sent many photos throughout the weekend. I will definitely use her services again.”

“Wow! Our Abby had an amazing time with Jessica and Abu! It was like a really fun dog vacation! Jessica not only took care of Abby but she also had so much fun with her! I would recommend Jessica to anyone who wants their dog to enjoy their time away from the family :-)”

“Our dog, Bailey stayed with Ashley and John for 10 days. Bailey is 7 months old and I was worried how she would do away from us that long. She did great! They are very caring and responsible people who treat your pet like their own. Ashley sent me pictures/videos daily. They have a great fenced in yard for the dogs to run and play, they took her on walks as well and they have a gentle dog of their own who was a good companion. There were a couple other dogs that came during Bailey's stay and you could tell they were gentle pets too. She loved playing with them which I could tell by the pictures and videos sent. I plan to board Bailey with them in the future, they were great!”

“We don’t worry a minute about the care our two small dogs get under Linda and Christopher’s care. You can see how much they love animals. We appreciate the pictures and messages while we are away. We can see our dogs are having fun.”

“If I could give more stars, I would! Shatane and her family are truly wonderful people. They treated Ziggy and me with respect and showed Ziggy love and attention every day during his 3-day stay this week. I would definitely recommend Shatane—excellent communication, with plenty of updates, pictures, and videos.”

“First time leaving Gus for a long time. Courtney kept me at ease with her great communication and sharing photos! Her dog Lucy and Gus hit it off right away. I’ve already rebooked for another upcoming trip! Recommend 100/10”

“Mike and Kelly are the best. Bella loves staying there and playing with their dogs. Mike is super communicative and always sends updates. We highly recommend them. Your dog will have a blast!”

“Kimberly was so nice to help me out with the last minute stay surrounding New Year trip to Boston. I can tell my dog having fun and have met new friends. Thank you for caring for Caesar. I highly recommend this sitter to anyone.”
“From the moment we met, I knew my furry friend was in good hands. Zachary is incredibly kind, responsible, and genuinely loves dogs. He took the time to understand my corgi's specific needs and preferences, which gave me great peace of mind. During the stay, Zachary provided regular updates, including adorable photos and detailed messages about how my dog was doing. It was clear that my dog was happy, well-exercised, and given plenty of attention and affection in the dog parks and at his home His home is a perfect environment for dogs, plenty of space to play. I also appreciated their professionalism and punctuality, which made the entire experience seamless and stress-free. I will definitely be booking Zachary again in the future and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. Thank you, Zachary, for taking such wonderful care of my pup!”

“Caley had a rough start to the week. She's getting older, and requires more attention. Celina kept us in the loop, but we thought we might have to come home. We and Celina came up with a plan that allowed us to stay on vacation, and Celina handled Caley like a pro! We appreciate that so much! Sorry for the sleepless nights.”

“Ryan and Leah were amazing sitters for our pup Hammy. It wws our first time using Rover, so we weren’t sure what to expect but the experience with Ryan (and Leah) was so great, they took Hammy on walks through the woods, cuddled with him at home, and generally just took amazing care, with photos and updates throughout. I can’t recommend them highly enough!!!!!!!”

“Leanne was so good with my 3-legged frenchie for 2 weeks! I felt so comfortable during our vacation because she sent loads of updates and photos. They also helped our daughter because she missed her “brother” so much. Because Leanne sometimes looks after other dogs during the day, my little doggo had a friend to play with for a lot of the vacation which made us feel a whole heck of a lot better knowing he was living his best life too.”

“We recently had the pleasure of having Anely care for my senior dog who needs a little extra TLC. My dog can be a bit anxious, but Anely quickly bonded with her and we received multiple pictures every day showing my dog happy and relaxed, enjoying walks, playtime, or just cuddling on the couch. This constant communication was a huge weight off our shoulders, especially knowing my dog was getting the attention they deserved.”

“I had a last minute emergency and Erica came through for us. Very kind and loving family. It is obvious how much affection they have for animals. Daisy did great and I never worried about her for a moment. It was a good experience for us.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - New Bedford
Savanna took care of our 2 frenchies over memorial day weekend! It was our first time leaving them with a sitter so we were naturally nervous. She was very communicative and attentive to their needs which put us fully at ease! She had no problem dealing with their quirks and cleaning up after them- They can be a handful as they were rescues. We will absolutely reach out to rebook with her in the future.

Austin was amazing with my two dogs! He was so attentive and spent lots of time outdoors with them! I do not like to leave them with anyone, and he made me feel comfortable right away and that’s huge for me! My dogs come home exhausted after a 3 day stay with Austin! He sent so many pictures and it made me happy to know that he took the time and effort with watching them and keeping them safe. He listened to every detail I messaged him about and had so much patience, especially knowing I was nervous. Our flight was delayed and he had no problem with keeping them for an extra time period! My dogs came home super happy and tired.

Taylor and Ryan were wonderful. My Dogs were very happy and healthy when we picked them up. Taylor kept me well informed when were away as to how they were doing. The yard is perfect for dogs and I had now worries of them getting free. Taylor and Ryan made our vacation worry free. Sherrie

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
