“My dogs stay with Mike was awesome! Mike is very responsive, sent photos early in my dogs stay so I knew that my dogs had transitioned well. I have 2 Cavapoochons who loved hanging with Mike's dog Bubba in his big back yard. My dogs came home happy and tired, as if they were in doggie daycare playing all day! Mike's home location is very convenient to the highway making drop off and pick up very easy. I appreciate Mike's reasonable rates, super environment for dogs, and his approach and great care of my dogs. Ellie and Dexter can't wait to go back!”

“My dog Luna enjoyed her stay with Debra and her pack. I have a husky malamute and was very confident to leave her in Debra’s hands because she knows the breed so well, she even taught me a few things that I didn’t know. Her house is perfect for dogs to enjoy, with a huge fenced in yard, and access to outside with a doggy door. Luna formed part of the family, as she was able to be around the house, spend time with the family on the couch or doggy bed next to the couch, and again just be herself and part of the pack with the other lovely dogs. I knew from the minute we went to the meet and greet that this was right for her. I was actually afraid she didn’t want to come home after her stay! Debra was great in communicating and sent us great pictures and videos of Luna having fun. I’m so glad that I found Debra because I’ve found Luna’s second home away from home, rather than leaving her at the boarding place I used before which keeps the dogs in kennels most of the time. Thank you Debra and your pack!”

“Jacquelyn was amazing! We traveled from Florida and she was able to watch our puppy while we attended a wedding. Our puppy played hard with some other dogs and had an amazing time! Picture and video updates were greatly appreciated. Would recommended to anyone!”

“Michelle was awesome with both my dogs. I was nervous leaving them for so long but she made sure she sent plenty of pictures and updates to reassure me. She went out of her way to make sure they would be as comfortable as they would be at home. I will definitely be rebooking with her for any future trips I take!”

“Zachery is genuine. He really loves dogs. He tried so hard to give our dog her meds with little luck But he persevered. He was very communicative and really cared about our dog”s reluctance to eat. We will use his services. Again. Joge/ Norma”

“Casey, Phil and their dog Chloe were absolutely fantastic with Penny, our 6 month old golden retriever puppy, for a week long stay. They sent us daily pictures and updates about how Penny was doing which really took the stress out of leaving her for the first time. They were patient at our meet and greet ahead of her stay and made sure to answer any and all of our questions. Would highly recommend them and we will absolutely be using them again in the future!”

“I am grateful to Marcia for taking such good care of my dog. Marcia has extensive experience with dogs and knows a lot about them. My dog was reluctant to leave her when I was picking it up. I am very happy with everything and would contact Marcia first if I need someone to look after my dog in the future.”

“Samantha took amazing care of my little cat and guinea pig . She was on time , commutative and showed that she really has a big heart that cares about people and their animals. I will definitely be reaching out to her again for her amazing service.”

“Eve was really lovely, flexible, and communicative. We got updates daily and our dog always seemed like she was having a fantastic time! Would definitely ask to have our pup stay with her again!”

“Super easy to work with and very good about pics and status updates. Love working with them, and they couldn't be closer to a dog park, folks. Literally.”

“Shatane and her family were absolutely amazing with my two dogs. They sent great updates of how they were doing and amazing pictures and videos. Have both my dogs plenty of exercise outside in the backyard and treated them as if they were their own. It made a week of travel less stressful to know my two were taken care of so well. Highly recommend.”

“Nick (Adalberto) is the perfect person to care for dogs. He and his wife have a dog friendly home, and 2 dogs of their own that help make boarding dogs feel welcome. I adopted a 10yo cocker spaniel one month ago, and needed to go away for 5 nights for training. I was worried that Romeo would feel abandoned again when I left him. I shouldn't have worried. Nick and his wife welcomed Romeo into their home like he was one of their own! Their 2 dogs even acted like they were happy to see him! Nick sent lots of pictures, and Romeo looked really happy! I have a training follow-up next Tuesday and I'm so glad Nick can take care of Romeo again! He and his wife fed, watered, walked and played with Romeo. I'm so grateful and happy to know them as wonderful dog-loving people, and as a professional dog-care resource. I will call Nick every time Romeo needs a home away from home. I recommend Nick 100% and without reservation!”

“Jen and Jon were wonderful sitters for our dog. This was the first time leaving her with a sitter and they made me feel very comfortable. I could tell Tootsie was well taken care of and receiving lots of love with each daily update. Drop off and pick up was easy and Jen responded quickly to any questions I had.”

“Karen was absolutely amazing with our dog daisy! She kept me updated with pictures and videos multiple times a day! Our flight home was cancelled and we ended up having a 5 hour delay to get back and she was very understanding and loving! Would definitely recommend her! Her 2 dogs were amazing with daisy also :)”

“Natalia and her husband provided excellent care for Gigi! They were so kind, and provided lots of updates and pictures, which we loved! I wouldn’t hesitate to have Gigi stay with them again (and Archie, of course!!). Thank you so much!! Look forward to seeing you again 🙂”

Savanna took care of our 2 frenchies over memorial day weekend! It was our first time leaving them with a sitter so we were naturally nervous. She was very communicative and attentive to their needs which put us fully at ease! She had no problem dealing with their quirks and cleaning up after them- They can be a handful as they were rescues. We will absolutely reach out to rebook with her in the future.

Austin was amazing with my two dogs! He was so attentive and spent lots of time outdoors with them! I do not like to leave them with anyone, and he made me feel comfortable right away and that’s huge for me! My dogs come home exhausted after a 3 day stay with Austin! He sent so many pictures and it made me happy to know that he took the time and effort with watching them and keeping them safe. He listened to every detail I messaged him about and had so much patience, especially knowing I was nervous. Our flight was delayed and he had no problem with keeping them for an extra time period! My dogs came home super happy and tired.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
