“Carolyne was able to help me out with a last minute sit and took great care of my dog. Will use her again and greatly appreciate her. Smokey is looking forward to hanging out with her again in the future.”

“Jen was wonderful with our 3 dogs. She is very kind and professional. We felt very safe and comfortable with her in our home. The dogs (and kitty) seemed happy and was updated with photos of them all :)”

“Liza was amazing!!!! She came during the snow storm to watch my babies in a pinch as I was stuck out of town. She kept me updated through out the stay with messages and photos/videos. Highly recommend and will call her back for future stays.”

“Jared was wonderful, we felt very comfortable leaving Bea in his care, this was the first time using his service, and look forward having him dog sit for us in the future, Thanks Jared”

“Jenna is an absolute angel! I could write a book about how magical she is but for now, I'll give you some of the highlights. She is sweet and soft spoken which was a blessing when she stayed in my home to take care of our 2 kitties, Squeaky and Jingles. Squeaky is pretty socialable but Jingles hides when she hears a different voice in the house. She scares very easily and is afraid, so when Jenna started sending me photos and videos, I was in awe! Jingles was hanging out with Jenna, rubbing up against her legs and purring. Jingles came out of hiding and had already decided that Jenna was special. She truly is an animal lover and she took care of their every need and then some! It was amazing how I could relax and not worry about my furbabies in her care. She sent lots of pics and videos twice a day which made me so happy. When we returned, everything was immaculate and everything cat related was spotless. She is so kind and thoughtful....a very rare find! We just love her and my furbabies can't wait to see her again! Thank you again Jenna from the bottom of all of our hearts. We will only have Jenna here in the future! ❤️❤️❤️”

About: Hello, my name is Amanda! I’m an experienced and compassionate pet sitter with 10 years of hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals. I’ve worked with puppies, senior dogs, and large breeds, and I’m comfortable watching multiple dogs at once while making sure each pet gets the attention and care they need. I have experience administering oral medications, supporting dogs with special needs (including helping care for a blind dog), and adjusting care routines to fit each pet’s personality and abilities. Safety, patience, and clear communication are always my top priorities. In addition to dogs, I’ve also cared for cats and guinea pigs, so I’m happy to help out in multi-pet households. I am a dog groomer, which has strengthened my understanding of dog behavior, handling, and overall pet wellness. I am available most of the day. I am working as a dog groomer so when I am not working with a dog I am available for pet care! It easy to work my schedule around what a pet parent may need! I can easily crate your dog if needed. I will keep your animal in designated areas if directed to do so. I am comfortable walking any size dog or if you have a fenced in yard I can watch your dog there.
About: Hi! I’m Phylicia. I’ve been around animals my whole life—dogs, cats, reptiles, you name it—so taking care of them has always been second nature to me. I also have pets of my own, so I totally understand how important they are to your family. As a teacher, I have a consistent schedule that allows me to be available in the afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays, and during school vacations. I’m flexible, reliable, and easy to communicate with—qualities that pet parents really value in a sitter. When I’m caring for pets, I treat them like part of the family. I pay close attention to their needs and can quickly recognize if something seems off. Whether it’s sticking to a specific feeding routine, giving meds, or just making sure your pet feels safe and loved, I’m all in.
“Danielle was wonderful!! She was so accommodating and such a life-saver. She took great care of my two kitties and of the house, and was very communicative. She was caring, competent, and overall a wonderful sitter!”

“Leaving our elderly dog, Lulu, with Eva was like leaving her with a family member. She is by far the best and most trusted sitter we have EVER had. Special feeding instructions and care instructions were no problem for Eva. If you’re looking for a fantastic, attentive sitter, look no further. Thank you, Eva!!”

“Grace is an amazing caregiver for our two beloved pets, Olivia (cat) and Shelly (dog). She treated our home with respect while house sitting. Olivia and Shelly seemed to take to her immediately and sense her "good vibes." Highly recommend, and we'll be reaching out again when in need!”

“Alyssa jumped in to watch my boys at the last minute and as always, goes above and beyond! She is always very communicative and tends to them as if they were hers. They boys love her and we appreciate all her kindness.”

“Meghan was wonderful. I connected with her in short notice and she went out of her way to make my elder queen feel cared for and even completed an extra favor for me. Very professional and she takes super cute pics and sends them while u travel.”

About: Ever since I can remember there's been a dog in the house. From English Mastiffs to Cava-poos, Boxers to Golden-doodles-I've had my fair share of caring for gentle giants and forever puppies. I currently have a doodle as well as a tabby cat, and yes, I do consider them as my children. I'm comfortable with any breed, and will always ensure they get the best care while you're away! While I do work full-time, I follow teacher hours and am fortunately out by about 3 PM. This will give me the afternoons/evenings free for play and dinner time. For the pups, I'll be able to bring them for a walk, to play fetch, cuddle up on the couch, etc. In your home, I will abide by your guidelines to a T-whether that involves a strict eating/bathroom-ing schedule, administering medications, exercise routines, crate-training, etc. I am a very clean person and do not mind washing bowls or vacuuming some fur whenever necessary.
About: Reliable, clean and active. I am an absolute animal lover and have been blessed to have watched, walked and cared for many beautiful dogs and cats over the last 15 years. I have good energy and can provide care and love for even the most spunky pets. I am a flight attendant and have extended periods of time off while I'm home. I also have a great deal of flexibility in my schedule and can take time off to accommodate long stays. Love! Play, exercise and attention are a must. Gentle discipline if needed and cleanup. I'm happy to brush and wash the pets as well for an additional fee. Whatever the animal needs I'm happy to give them my full attention.

I have a rescue dog named Finley who is my whole world so you can rest assured I will treat your dog as my own and spoil them with lots of cuddles and belly rubs. I’m a teacher so weekends I’m always free and am usually always with my dog. I’m available most afternoons for drop in visits or to take your dog for a walk. Summers are also a time when I am completely free and would love to be able to care for your dog(s) while you enjoy a summer vacation! I have a fenced in backyard and a very friendly hound mix dog to keep your dog company. She loves to play and wants to be friends with every dog we meet. I can also easily crate your dog if needed.

I would be so happy to help you and your pet(s) I currently work a hybrid schedule where I can make my own hours so whenever you need someone I can make myself available any day! About: Hi there! I'm Ellyn. I have a magnetic, intuitive connection with animals that seems to form the moment we meet. During a recent backpacking trip in the Grayson Highlands, I had an experience that perfectly illustrates this: a fellow hiker’s black lab approached me with such immediate, heartfelt recognition that the owner was completely taken aback. It felt as though we were long-lost companions reuniting. She came rushing to me, whining and crying with pure joy, and when I came down to her level, she immediately laid on me, whimpering and cuddling. 🥹 This is the energy I bring to every interaction. While I began my journey as a pet sitter years ago while living in California, I am now returning to this work with a deeper perspective. For my canine friends: I am a big believer in the power of a 'sniffari.' I love taking dogs on walks where they set the pace, allowing them to explore and sniff to their heart's content. I believe this is the most mentally enriching and effective way for a dog to walk, and I am always happy to facilitate that. For my feline friends: I am a true cat lover at heart! I understand that cats require a subtle, patient approach. I’m excellent at reading feline body language and providing the kind of quiet, respectful companionship that makes cats feel secure and relaxed. Why you can trust me with your pets: Beyond my natural rapport with animals, my professional background as a Registered Nurse and my practice as an energy medicine practitioner mean that I am observant, responsible, and highly attuned to the non-verbal needs of those in my care. I bring a professional level of health-conscious care to pet sitting. I am comfortable with: -Administering medications as prescribed. -Managing specialized feeding schedules or dietary requirements. -Tracking and reporting on any health symptoms or behavioral changes. Whether your pet needs active outdoor time or a calm, quiet presence at home, I am dedicated to providing reliable, compassionate care. I would love to meet your companions and see how we connect! I currently work part time 3-4 evenings a week so have lots of time to care for long sniffy walks or quality time playing/snuggling with your pets! Trusted background as a registered nurse, willing to follow the schedule/flow you keep at your house. Am able to crate and take to appointments, as needed.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Marion walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Marion maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Marion choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Marion. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
