About: I have no other pets, and will only board for one family at a time, so your dog will get my full attention! I've owned dogs for over 25 years, and have also fostered them. I am experienced with dogs who are leash-reactive or aggressive toward other dogs or cats. I am also skilled at giving medicine (including sub-cutaneous injections) and caring for senior dogs with arthritis or other illnesses. PLEASE NOTE: I do not have a yard so we will take short or long walks in my very safe neighborhood when they need to go potty. If your pup doesn't like to potty on walks (or go for walks at all), I'm not the right fit. Notes: 1) Drop off and pickup windows should be no more than two hours. 2) The maximum size dog I can accommodate is 65 pounds. DROP-INS: I will spend 30 minutes with your pet, from the time I arrive at your home until I depart. I can take one or two dogs for a short stroll of 10 or fewer minutes. I am available any time, since I am retired and have no other commitments. I can be available on nights and weekends and some holidays. *I do run errands during the day and have evening plans with friends from time to time, so I may occasionally be away for several hours.* Your dog will have the run of my house unless you prefer them to be crated (and you provide a crate). I live in a good-sized shotgun double (duplex). I will not have any other boarders besides your dog and I will follow whatever schedule you lay out.

“Alaina is super conscientious and great at communicating while you’re away. She’s a pro in the sense that she gets it when you tell her one cat likes this, the other likes that. She’s been there and gets it straight away. It’s a real peace of mind to leave town confident your cats are in good hands. This was our first time using Rover/Alaina. We’ve had other sitters years ago who had a ton of extra rules and made things a little challenging. Not Alaina. Super flexible and on the ball. I loved her updates and when we got home both cats were calm and happy. It was kind of like they were expecting Alaina. Waiting on their perches for her regular visiting time which was when we got home. Then, surprised to see us but not needy and stressed out. “I hired Jackie to come to my apartment once a week and check on my two beta fish tanks and my tarantula. I was so relieved that she took the job because a lot of people are too intimidated by spiders to accept. She went above and beyond taking care of my fish and my spider, going so far as to troubleshoot my filters and test my tank water. She is extremely knowledgeable about fish and spent a lot of time making sure they were OK. This is so much more than I expected and I felt so confident leaving my pets in her care. She was Amazing with my tarantula and even offered to go to the store and get more crickets for her when she ran out. She sent me pictures and asked questions when she wasn’t sure how to proceed with her and I was really relieved to know that all of my pets were getting a lot of attention and care. It was very obvious that Jackie really cared about doing a good job of taking care of my pets. She is very detailed with her check-in visits and always takes pictures. she is extremely capable and responsible and I felt very safe giving her my keys and access to my house. I would hire Jackie again in a second and if you are looking for a sign to hire her, this is definitely it! Wish I could give her 100 stars.”

About: My friendships with cats and dogs began as a child having both as pets. I have been a dog walker and housesitter/personal assistant in San Francisco for years and am now spending most of my time back here at home. I cared for medium and large sized dogs there with daily adventures to the beach, hikes and visiting all the amazing parks there. I love caring for client's pets in various cities as well as locally. I also spend time with smaller dogs plus some cats throughout New Orleans. I look forward to meeting your pets here! Often dogs are on new and healthy diets so I like to learn about your pets needs. Treats are given according to direction from you. I respect all pets diets and details of their routines. I love to take photos and video of your pets on their walks, playtime and lounging afterwards to share with you. I have an online business so my schedule is flexible and can be available throughout the day and evening. I am available for overnight stays. Generally I care for pets within their home so that their routines and eating schedule stay the same. That way it is less stressful for them when their person is out of town. Like us, they love their familiar surroundings, bedding, neighborhood, etc. I follow the rules of their house and happy to serve them at home. As a former property manager, I am a respectful caretaker of your home while there and can handle things that can come up for you.
