“Chelsea was absolutely amazing! Her patience, kindness, and genuine care for my big 70 baby truly meant the world to me! She just has this calming presence which was great for my girl! She went above and beyond to make sure she felt comfortable, loved, and safe while I was away. It’s not easy handling a large pup that came from a broken environment but she handled everything with such calm confidence and compassion. I’m so grateful for her dedication and would 100% trust her again. Highly recommend — five stars all across the board!”

“Christina is awesome! I made a booking with her less than 24 hours when I needed help and she still found time to stop by for a meet and greet with my dog. Communication was quick and clear and I felt very comfortable having her take care of my dog. She showed up right on time and gave my dog plenty of time outside.”

“Excellent!!! We were really worried since our fur babies are a whole lot of lab love and can be overwhelming. But they took great care of our pups and sent super cute pics to prove it! Thank you guys!!!! You rock!”

“Jennifer and Jeff are amazing. My dogs absolutely loved them. My pets were well cared for while I was away. I absolutely recommend them and will continue to use them in the future.”
“Kadence was great with my two cats and they seemed to miss her for a few days after I returned from my trip. One of them in particular would get very anxious around the time that she been visiting :D”

“Aww. What a great mother daughter team! Very caring and concerned for our pets well being. Photos of visits daily and updates through Rover when arriving and departing. Honestly could not ask for a better experience. Highly recommend. Thank you so much!”

“Joanna is a wonderful help to our family! Our little Margot means the world to us, so I am so grateful to Joanna for taking good care of her. She is professional, easy to reach, reliable, and plays with our little girl, which is most important to me. She always remembers to lock up before leaving. Thank you Joanna!”

“Andrea was fantastic watching our dog while we were out of town. She is a very timely and responsive communicator and made us feel at ease knowing our dog was in good hands. We won’t hesitate to call on Andrea again next time we travel.”

“Clio and Nyx love Toni! She does an amazing job with them and we’re so grateful for her. Especially when we had a last-minute travel change and she was able to accommodate us! Will definitely book again.”

“Maddison was great! She gave me so much peace of mind when I to be gone for a long time over the weekend, and gave my pup lots of needed TLC while I had to be away. So thankful for her!”

About: I’ve been an active professional pet sitter with 5-star reviews and references since 2019 (can provide reviews) and for more than 20 years I’ve been trusted to care for homes and beloved pets around the world. With every sit, I bring a strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and respect. I’ve also had several animals of my own over the years and genuinely love being around them — they keep me happy, playful, and young! During extended pet sits, I enjoy writing meditation music and keeping up with my online work. I’m naturally calm, clean, dependable, and tend to create a peaceful environment wherever I stay. I grew up in a small town in Louisiana and became a professional singer-songwriter after graduating from the University of New Orleans. Later in life, I spent several years living and teaching within a spiritual community before returning to a more independent and creative lifestyle. Since then, I’ve traveled the world and also founded a women’s healing community center in Lake Chapala, Mexico. These days I spend most of my time in the US, writing, playing, and recording music, exploring meaningful projects, and continuing to care for animals whenever possible. For me, animals embody pure, unconditional love, and I truly enjoy spending quality time with them. I recently moved back to the U.S. to spend more time with my aging mother, whom I’ve always been very close to. I’m looking forward to being near family again, enjoying quality time together, and reconnecting with my music and songwriting. For me, pet sitting feels like a natural extension of this time. I care for pets with a strong focus on safety, consistency, affection, and respect for their individual routines and personalities. In a client’s home, I do my best to maintain the environment and schedule their pets are already comfortable with — including feeding times, walks, medications, playtime, litter box care, and quiet companionship. I understand that animals feel safest when their routine stays familiar. I’m very attentive, clean, and respectful of both the home and the animals in my care. I pay close attention to changes in behavior, appetite, mood, or energy and communicate clearly with pet parents while they’re away. I also enjoy sending updates and photos when welcomed. I naturally create a calm, peaceful environment and genuinely enjoy spending quality time with animals rather than simply “checking in” on them. Whether a pet is energetic and playful or shy and independent, I adapt to their needs and comfort level with patience and care.
“Carolyn took awesome care of our cat while we went out of town. She gave updates and was easy to work with. Having pictures sent was a nice touch with each visit. We are new to the area so finding someone quickly that we could trust was nice!”

About: I’m a dog-loving human who happily hangs out with shy pups, goofy goofballs, and dramatic little divas alike. I’m gentle, reliable, and always make sure each dog feels safe, relaxed, and totally understood. Your pup will stay well fed, walked, and entertained, with playtime that matches their vibe. And of course, you’ll get plenty of cute photo updates so you can see your dog living their absolute best life. I’m available for drop-ins and walks every day of the week from 8 AM to 8 PM, including weekends. If you need daytime care, last-minute check-ins, or flexible visit times, I’ve got you covered! I always follow your home’s rules and routines, and I’m careful to keep doors locked, gates closed, and your pet safely inside. I double-check food, water, and any medications, and I make sure your home and your pet are secure before I leave every visit. Your peace of mind matters just as much as your pet’s comfort!
About: Growing up around animals has been amazing. From pet sitting, to just hanging around animals, I have fallen in love with all fur babies. I volunteer at the local animal shelter to play with dogs and cats, take them out on walks, and even go around town looking for their new forever home! During the summer, I just need a heads up and communication! I try not to work my main job on weekends, so if you need anything I’m there! I am free almost all of the time during afternoons. My schedule with school is open throughout the day! At home, I have a fenced in yard for my two dogs who love to just run or swim! The door is always open for them to come in and out.
“Jessica put me immediately at ease about my hesitation leaving my pups with a stranger. I hate, hate leaving them at a kennel so when a friend told me about Rover, i checked it out. Jessica's 75 return customers was an initial sell. Her ease and kind manner sealed my decision. Trust Jessica. My pup, Pedro, who trusts nobody welcomed her into the house. Trust Jessica. If you aren't sold by now on trusting Jessica with your pups, nothing will. I will be a return customer.”

About: Taking care of animals isn’t just a job to me, it’s a hobby! Giving them the proper care they need brings me happiness everyday! I’ve had animals since I was 5 years old, and I’ve learned so much as a I got older. Making sure they get enough exercise by going on long walks, and giving them love and attention is my main priority! I will love your fur babies like my own and give them the best care they need. I currently have a free schedule, so depending on when you need me, and how long you need me to stay, we can work with anything you need! In your home I’ll first make sure your fur baby trusts me and gets used to me as I know I’m a new person in their home. I’ll make sure they’re properly fed with your schedule, bathe them if need be, taking them on walks every couple of hours, and giving them one on one attention. Their safety and health is also one of my main priorities. If I feel in any way they are in danger, I will take any necessary actions to make sure they are safe and well.

Abby was very good with my dogs. It is clear that she knows the nuances of dog behavior. She came by to meet them before her scheduled drop ins and her patience and gentleness with them made me feel much more comfortable about having her take care of them for the weekend.

Have a very timid dog and the other is outgoing, Hack did great with them both and had Yuki already warmed up to him by day 2. He sent videos recoding his interactions at my request so I could see how Yuki was acting towards other people. I will hire Hack to do dropping visits so Yuki keeps getting positive interactions with others!

I had a fantastic experience with Brenna. She provided me with thorough updates three times daily, complete with numerous photos, which really put my mind at ease. I could genuinely sense that Coco was safe, comfortable, and happy in her care. Brenna is exceptionally kind and compassionate, and I wouldn't think twice about trusting her again. I highly recommend her 😀

Maria is an excellent pet sitter! She is so conscientious, always coming at the appointed times and taking great care to feed, water, and (in my case) scoop the litter. She would take wonderful photos of my cats so I'd know they were alright. After a day away, I could see my cats literally warming up to her by rubbing up against her in the photos. Maria has a kind heart for sure. You won't be disappointed.

Joy, took care of our two dogs while on vacation. She was absolutely amazing , our babies love her , she played with them , took on walks , fed and gave medication . She even took the younger pup to day care to play with his friends. When we arrived back home the house smelled wonderful . Joy had cleaned the house and left an adorable hand made gift for us . I will definitely have joy watch our babies next time we go out of town . AAA+++ service

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
