“My husband (Brian ) and I were very pleased with our first experience using Harrah for an overnight pet sitting. She has a very calm demeanor which our dog likes. We’re not your “typical people”, because we have a very high maintenance dog and are very detailed with our expectations. Harrah took notes and listened well with our protocol. When we returned home we could tell right away that Max was happy and content. (Unlike past vacations retuning home finding our dog had anxiety thru the roof 🥺) We also gave her additional responsibility to feed our Koi pond which again she was stellar at. We highly recommend Harrah for pet sitting and have already booked her for three more trips. 🐾🐶”

“Greta was very attentive and helpful when taking care of Kora. We had to take Kora to the pet hospital the night before we left and Greta gave us peace of mind to leave Kora with her and to mange the medication. She was respectful and good communicator. Would hire her again in the future!”

“All I can say that you can trust your fur baby to Valery without any hesitation. Our 6 years old Samoyed Ponchik loved her very much. She always was on top of it to send us videos and photos while we were away. Spoiled our baby :))) with love and treats. We'll definitely will use her help in the future as well. Thank you for everything Valery.”

“Five stars isn’t enough. Tiffany took care of my stubborn and shy dog for an entire week. She went above and beyond everyday to take him on fun walks and show him so much patience and love. She communicated with me all week. I will absolutely book her again. We have found a reliable and loving sitter, thank you Tiffany!”

“Rebeca did an amazing job house sitting and caring for our reactive dog, Ginger. From the moment we met her, it was clear that she was patient, attentive, and genuinely cared about Ginger's well-being. Caring for a reactive dog requires extra understanding and compassion, and Rebeca handled everything beautifully. She kept us updated throughout our trip with pictures and the sweetest stories about Ginger's day, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. When we returned home, Ginger was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. Our house was also in great shape. We are incredibly grateful for the love and attention Rebeca gave to Ginger and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and responsible pet sitter. We will absolutely book with her again!”

“Sara was wonderful with my 2 Frenchie girls and cat. This is the first time Sara watched my girls and they were very well taken care of. My house was also well taken care of. Thank you Sara from Kona Hana Binx and me :)”

“Spencer is reliable and took great care of our three dogs. Our 15 year old dog needs extra care and diaper change and Spencer does not have a problem taking care of her. One of our other dog’s needs meds and he takes care of that with no issues. He also sent regular pictures of our dogs cuddling and playing with him. I appreciate him being so attentive as it provides a peace of mind when we are away. The dogs are part of our family and we appreciate him caring for them as such.”

“Our dogs loved Roselle! We came home to very happy dogs. Most importantly, the dogs were not stressed at all after we were gone a few days. After their initial excitement when we got home, they settled right in like we had never left. She gave them their medications and did everything according to our instructions with taking care of all three dogs as well as our house.”

“Colleen did a fantastic job watching our furry crew (1 dog 2 cats). We received much-appreciated photos, and updates throughout our trip, and returned home to find our animals loved, and our home so well cared for. It's so hard to find someone to trust your fur babies with, and we will DEFINITELY be using Colleen's services in the future.”

“She was incredible, she loved my babies, and they loved her even more, and it made it so much easier to leave cause i knew they were in good hands. She even made sure we can home to a clean house!! Will absolutely be booking with her again!”

I focus on maintaining strict medical routines and building trust at your animal's individual pace, giving you total peace of mind that your high-needs companion is safe and understood. Because I balance pet care with my weekday studies and commitments, my schedule is perfectly tailored for dedicated evening check ins, weekend care, and overnight housesitting. While you are away for the weekend or out for the evening, your cat will have my full, undivided attention right when they need it most like dinner time, evening play, and nighttime cuddles For pets with rescue backgrounds, trauma histories, physical disabilities, or behavioral quirks, their home is their sanctuary. Change can be overwhelming, which is why I specialize in providing dedicated, in-home care designed to preserve your pet’s sense of safety, routine, and comfort while you are away. Rather than forcing a connection, I practice a patient, trust-first approach. I meet your animal exactly where they are whether that means sitting quietly across the room to let a shy rescue set the pace, or meticulously maintaining a senior pet's environmental and medical routine. I am deeply attuned to animal body language and decompression timelines, ensuring your pet's boundaries are always respected and their stress levels remain low.
“I feel so fortunate to find Mari. Mari took great care of our four collies, from young to senior. She is excellent in communication, very trustworthy and competent. I will not hesitate to reach out to her for future dog and house sitting needs and recommend her without reservation. It was such a blessing, while out of town, to know our four dogs were in good hands.”

“Taryn was a great sitter, who was neat and considerate and who left a very content dog when she left our house. Our return plans were uncertain due to weather in CO but Taryn was more than willing to adjust her schedule to accommadate ours and Buddy's needs. Would definitely call on her again.”

“Chris did a fantastic job sitting our dog. He’s a very caring and patient person. He was also very flexible when it came to adjusting his schedule. Our dog Daisy really liked him too :) Looking forward to booking him again.”

“Sarah was a wonderful pet sitter. She took excellent care of my dog and cat. She even dealt with a intruding racoon and she also watered my huge collection of plants. I really appreciated her hard work and care.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Natividad
Last night was the third time Ashton watched/walked our great dane. Tiny, our 160 lb dane, loves Ashton. And Ashton is equally popular with our cats. Ashton shows up on time and washes whatever dishes he uses, both signs of how responsible he is. He sends us pics of our furry family and keeps us informed. We'll use him again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Natividad walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Natividad maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Natividad choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
