“So great! I knew Sophie was very well cared for and loved like part of the family while she was there. Clearly very passionate about caring for dogs and providing everything needed to make them feel at home. Sophie had a last minute minor medical issue prior to being dropped off, but they were very comfortable with providing meds and keeping an the on the condition. Also provided updates and made sure I knew Sophie was doing great during her stay. Will be my go-to boarders for all future needs as long as they’ll take us!”
“Nicole and her family are incredible. They took the best care of our pup. We felt very comfortable being states away and knew that he was so loved. We will definitely use her services again. Thank you!”
“Holly was absolutely amazing. Me and my fiance dropped off Maggie not knowing what to expect but she had a blast with plenty of room to run and sniff. We got multiple pictures every day especially super cute ones. I cannot sing her praise enough this was absolutely amazing and 11/10 would recommend.”

“Adriana and family were awesome. Super glad that she came through to help us at the last minute. Bruno had plenty of room to play and run around with the farm style home. Blessed that we found another option to take care of Bruno. Thank you Adrian and Family for watching Bruno Tenoche.”

“Angelina was an Angel and a life saver. I booked last minute and she responded immediately. Angelina was pleasant and very sweet. When meeting Onyx and Blue she asked all the right questions in order to provide the best care for my fur babies. Angelina sent pictures and kept me updated on all my babies activities. If you want your fur baby to be in a nurturing, safe, and fun home, Angelina is the caregiver for you.”

“Boarded my best guy here, and he had a blast! Good energy, great communication and photos, and a nice and tired pup and the end of the weekend - will definitely bring him back next time we need boarding in Gilroy.”

“I felt comfortable leaving my big guy with Rosita. We did a meet and greet at first so I could see if it was a good fit. She has a spacious yard and took him for long walks. She was very attentive and asked questions to make sure he was well cared for. She updated me during the day with photos and videos. I would totally book with her again and recommend her to anyone! Thank you!!”

“Grace and Claudio were great! They are very responsive, responsible, and my dog had a great time. They sent lots of happy dog photos during the stay and made all logistics very easy. We hope to use them again if we are in the area.”

“Stasha & her boyfriend were wonderful! It was our first time boarding our pup and I was very nervous. She kept us updated throughout the day, and communication was great. She would send pictures as well! We will definitely book with her again.”

“I will definitely call upon Mahrukh again. I felt secure leaving my pet with her while I attended a wedding. She was professional and showed her home where Roble would stay for the day and sent me updates so I could feel at ease.”

“Juan and his wife were absolutely amazing! They were incredibly kind, accommodating, and took wonderful care of our girls, Marley and Nala. They were so patient with them while they adjusted and made sure they felt comfortable and cared for. They also sent us frequent updates throughout their stay, which gave us so much peace of mind. They also went above and beyond to help us during drop-off, and we’re so grateful for their patience and willingness to help. We would absolutely trust them with our girls again and highly recommend them!”

“Was planning to go Florida with my wife and leave our little pup Thor with Wendy but some other things came up and we had to cancel last minute. Wendy was super great and professional and was kind enough to refund me for the days we had scheduled. We could tell our little Thor had fun his two days there because he didn’t want to leave. We will definitely”
“This was Rocket's first stay with Darlene and it was just awesome. We were a little apprehensive since he is very attached but Darlene gave him a lot of attention to get him settled in. He was out in the yard with all the dogs in a little bit and seemed like he was enjoying himself. Darlene sends the best doggie photos to keep us up to date and was very accessible via text. We were able to enjoy our vacation knowing he was in good hands. If we lived a little closer to her, she would be our go-to sitter. The whole family came out to say bye to Rocket when we went to pick him up and it was very nice to see all of them invested in the care for the dogs. Rocket came home very clean and happy. He easily slipped into our usual routine without being extra anxious or clingy which happens sometimes when he is boarded. Highly Recommend!”
“Debra did a great job of making us and our dog, Skye, feel welcome. She sent us daily updates with pictures of Skye with her family or out taking walks. She was a last minute provider for us as our usual care person was not available for the dates we needed. She only keeps one guest dog at a time. Skye and her dog, Ginger, got along well.”

“Jennifer and family was great on taking care of Ty during the long weekend. She is amazing as responds for every text messages very quick. Also very nice pictures and lot of love and attention. I recommend them a lot and will for sure rely on them on our next trips! Thank you so much!!!”

“My husky, Koda, had a fantastic time with Valentina & Stephen and their dog Luke. He ran and played in their gigantic, beautiful yard, got lots of attention and cuddles and was taken to the park and restaurants with them. They took excellent care of Koda I can't recommend Val and Stephen more highly. I've already booked another stay for Koda!”

I’ve had Gabriel take care of my dog both this year and last year, and I couldn’t be happier with his care! He is attentive, reliable, and genuinely loves dogs. I especially appreciated the regular updates and pictures he sent it was so reassuring to see my dog happy and well cared for while I was away. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a responsible and caring dog sitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Natividad home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Natividad.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Natividad sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
