Feels like home.SEASIDE, CA

I've worked at a Veterinary Hospital in Danville, Ca. for 16 years. My husband & I moved to Seaside last June. I think this might be the perfect profession for me. Growing up I was the girl who saved everything. I knew I would end up caring for animals at a very young age. My husband Tim & I raised 3 beautiful daughters, a son & we are now proud grandparents. We've always had dogs in all sizes. I want to continue to care for our four legged friends who need love, attention, food, meds if needed, exercise while their parents are away. I have a lot of experience with different breeds. Currently we have two small dogs that rescued us. Troy & Doinkle. We love all living creatures. Hanging out with us will feel just like Home...

Home sweet home!Salinas, CA

I am a stay at home Mom with a lifetime of dog training experience. Our dog Lily is a trained service animal for my sons who have autism. We homeschool our 5 kids, enabling us to be home to care for your special pet day and night while you are away. We are available for boarding and individualized training services. We know how to give healthy guidance when needed to redirect behaviors with positive training.

This is a family job in which both my husband and I as well as our children like to get involved. One of us is always walking a dog, bathing a dog or just giving a tummy rub. It is a truly a vacation for any pooch. We focus on giving each dog what it needs, this may include downtime to decompress after a play session, or a special bone to help ease the tension of being in a new environment.

About this sitter:

I am a retired Licensed Practical Nurse who now stays at home to homeschool our kids. I work as a dog trainer and life coach. Surprisingly I do find a crossover between people and animal training! I have worked with dogs, horses and other animals since I was a young child on our family farm in Canada. I have most recently trained my son's autism service dog Lily. Our household is one of a lot of love and happy children and dogs:) We are NOT a kennel, we are a home environment.

Why I love dog sitting

I grew up on a farm in Alberta, Canada. Dogs , cats and horses were always around. Animals were my first love. I've always felt a special bond with them. That bond increased even more as I had my children and I saw how therapeutic animals were for kids. My sons have autism and we have trained an autism service dog to help attend to their social needs.

Meet my pets

Lily our 5 year old service dog for kids on the autism spectrum and is a joy to all who meet her. She is a 39 lb standard poodle. Her temperament is playful, silly and light.

About my yard

We have a fully secure fenced in yard with a nice set of grass to romp on as well as cool shady areas mixed with sun.

My experience administering medication

Yes. Though I stay at home now as a homeschool mom, I am also a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Concierge 24/7 family care & love!Watsonville, CA

Hi! We are a family of four with a stay-at-home mom and three children. I was a credentialed teacher for years and have an MA in Education. I have recently completed a two year dog training program through Animal Behavior College and will be a licensed trainer in early 2020. After teaching for years I began working with dogs in order to be able to stay home with my children. What I thought would just provide a little extra money here and there has exploded over the last five years into a full-time passion business! We have one dog of our own as well as cats who know the lay of the land and can make themselves scarce when needed! We are outdoors as much as possible and love to play on the beach or explore the slough and forest trails. I'm all about the ocean here in Santa Cruz we get the best combination of land and sea! My three children have absolutely loved hosting pets in our home and take a full role in loving, exercising and sleeping with them. My teenage daughter may end up being a cat person but the boys are all in!! Our furry guests quickly become part of our family and the kids greet them as old friends. We love what we do!

Come and visit!

Home fulltime, large yard, fun!Seaside, CA

I am retired and will spend the whole day with your dog. I truly love the pets I care for and they can tell.

Will do my best to give your dog an enjoyable day. I have two yards and a day room for indoor play.

Dogs must be housebroken. I give frequent potty breaks and will give medicine and supplements.

There are plenty of toys to play with. No need to bring toys but you can bring a blanket or towel if they like to rest on a familiar object.

Dogs get at least one walk per day. There is a big yard for supervised play.

I only take dogs that are healthy and have been spayed or neutered.

Please be up to date with flea protection.

I love your dog!Seaside, CA

I've had the privilege of being a pet owner most of my adult life. My husband and I adopted 2 kittens right after we got married and have had a boxer, german shepherd, great pyrenees, and we currently have a pug named George. We have also been a foster family for Peace of Mind Dog Rescue in Pacific Grove, which specializes in caring for and saving the lives of senior dogs. Earning the love and trust of a foster dog is a meaningful, worthwhile endeavor. Caring for animals is something that comes naturally for me and I love them more than most people. I would love to be of service to you and your sweet pet. I can't imagine a life without animals. My home will always have them, and I'd be honored to help you with your beloved babies.

Marcia is a great dog-sitter. She was flexible in setting up a meeting time and we were able to introduce our dog to hers before we dropped him off. Marcia sent us pictures of Taggart's "vacation" with her two dogs, and they looked like they were having a blast! We recommend Marcia highly.

I don’t want to recommend or say anything nice about the amazing place, Katie, her family or how they took care of Luca, as I want her to be available for me when I need her services. Rover wanted me to rate her with stars, we’ll, they only had five and there should have been more.
