About: I love all furry babies! I grew up around animals and have a special ability to have them approach me first. I also have experience bathing smaller dogs and administering medicines. I work full time but I can stop by your house before/ after work, and if needed I can check in during my lunch most days. On the weekends I am more available for longer check-ins. I can do almost anything you request in your home. I am good at making sure animals don't get out, and if they slip by I'm a pretty good runner. My house is not set up for another roommate however.

With my flexible availability and years of pet-sitting experience, I'm able to provide dependable, personalized care and plenty of love for your fur babies! 🐶🐱💕 Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities! 🐾❤️ In My Home: I have a fenced-in back patio with a designated potty area for my own dog and any furry guests in my care. I provide a comfortable, loving environment with plenty of attention, playtime, potty breaks, and relaxation. I understand that every pet has different needs, and I do my best to maintain their normal feeding, walking, and sleeping routines so they feel right at home. “Gabriel and his son Lucas were great with our senior dogs. He kept me updated every visit to ensure we knew how the dogs were doing. Definitely convenient that he was near my home and due to the fact that we actually don't like people wandering in our home, my husband felt comfortable with him watching over our house as he definitely went above our expectations. Will definitely use him again.”

About: About Me 🤍 Hi! I’m Alicia :) I’ve always been a huge animal lover and grew up around both dogs and cats. I have a Pomeranian of my own, and I’ve lived with and cared for all different kinds of dogs and cats over the years. I also have experience pet sitting, and I genuinely love getting to know each pet and their own little personality. I know every pet is different. Some dogs want to play and go on walks all day, while others just want to cuddle and hang out. The same goes for cats, some will be your best friend right away and others need a little time before they trust you. I’m very patient and always let them get comfortable with me at their own pace. I really just want them to feel safe and happy while their family is away. 🐾 I also understand that you’re trusting me with your home, not just your pet, and I take that seriously. Before getting into real estate, I worked in banking, so being responsible, trustworthy, professional, and respectful of people’s privacy has always been really important to me. I’ll treat your home with the same care and respect I would want someone to have in mine. A little about me outside of pet sitting: I’ve lived in Japan, Hawaii, Sacramento, and the Bay Area, and now I’ve settled in Monterey with my family. I love being outside, going to the beach, and taking walks around the coast, so having a pup come along with me makes it even better! At the end of the day, I really just love animals. Your pet isn’t going to feel like another “booking” to me. I want to get to know them, learn their little quirks and routine, and make sure they’re getting lots of love and attention while you’re gone. I want you to be able to enjoy your time away knowing your pet is happy, cared for, and in good hands. 🤍 I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets I care for. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, pet sitting, and overnight care throughout the week and weekends. I enjoy spending quality time with animals and making sure they stay on their normal routine, feel comfortable, and receive lots of love and attention while their owners are away. Creating a safe, calm, and loving environment for pets is very important to me. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully to make sure pets stay comfortable and on their normal routine. I pay close attention to each pet’s personality, needs, and behavior to ensure they feel secure and cared for. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I provide a clean, attentive, and trustworthy environment where pets are treated like family and receive plenty of affection, supervision, and patience. I also love keeping pet owners updated with photo and video updates throughout the day so you can feel reassured and connected while you’re away. I know how important peace of mind is when leaving your pet with someone, so communication is always a priority for me, and I’m happy to answer questions or accommodate any specific care instructions.

About: Can you believe my parents didn't want a dog until I came along? When I was "finally old enough", I raised my first puppy. I've raised 3 puppies (family members) since then. What I have to offer: •available day + night - work from home (weekends off) •no breed or size restrictions •if your dog is high energy and large, then he/she must know basic commands like no, yes, come, stay. ♥ I will only care for one dog at a time (an exception can be made if you have two) since I want to give your dog (and mine) all the love. ♥ About me: my name is Scarlitte (pronounced scar-lett) Alameda, and I have a master's degree in Mathematics. I love to bake, relax outside with a cup of coffee, and dogs (of course). I moved back to the Monterey area in 2024. You can find me on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. I'm not active on them, but I like to check up on friends and family once in a blue moon. My dog, Luna, and I visit Broadneck dog park in the morning for about an hour. Here your dog can •run •zoom around with other dogs •play fetch •lay down under the shade. Luna normally sleeps until 3pm. She has a potty break around noon. In the evening, we drive to the dog park, and later we lay on the couch together. I have a fenced in backyard, many dog toys, leashes, an Apple ID tag, and a extra dog bed available. The water bowl is regularly cleaned and refilled. Because I only care for one dog at a time (other than my own), my house is clean. The only exception is rainy days since dogs have muddy feet. I can provide: • one on one attention • the best pets and rubs • speaking in a special voice for dogs • being active with your dog • on weekends my husband will remix songs he knows and insert your dogs name (don't tell him I told you though) • cool math facts since I'm a mathematician.

About: One thing that makes my home different is that I intentionally only care for up to two guest dogs at a time. Unlike larger boarding setups, this means your dog receives the individual attention, affection, and supervision they deserve—not just another spot in a crowded home. I’ve been caring for animals for over 30 years and have loved them since I was five years old, when I got my first cat. Since then, I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all ages—from energetic puppies to sweet senior pets—and I’m comfortable with all breeds. I’ve also cared for many pets for family, friends, and Rover clients, giving me experience with a wide range of personalities and needs. Because I work remotely, I’m home for most of the day, so your pet won’t be left alone for long periods. My home is calm, safe, and full of love, playtime, cuddles, and walks. I’m also comfortable administering medication and pride myself on being reliable, patient, and attentive. I know every pet is different, so I take the time to learn their routine, personality, and preferences to help them feel comfortable and secure. My goal is simple: for your pet to feel like they’re staying with family while you’re away, and for you to have complete peace of mind knowing they’re receiving the care and attention they deserve. Because I work remotely, I’m home most of the day, which makes pet care a natural part of my daily routine. I start my mornings with a walk or playtime, and I take regular breaks throughout the day to give pets attention, cuddles, and outdoor time. Evenings are usually calm and cozy — perfect for a relaxing stroll or some quiet time together. My flexible schedule means I can easily adapt to your pet’s needs, whether that’s frequent walks, meal routines, or medication schedules. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, my goal is always the same — to make them feel safe, loved, and at ease. I follow each pet’s normal routine closely, including feeding times, walks, play, and rest, so their day feels familiar and stress-free. In my home, pets enjoy a calm, cozy space where they get plenty of cuddles, playtime, and outdoor walks. When I’m in a client’s home, I treat it with the same respect and care I would my own, keeping things tidy and peaceful while giving your pet lots of attention and affection. I also send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your furry family member is happy and cared for.

About: Hi! I’m Ashley, a Registered Veterinary Technician with over 12 years of experience caring for animals, including extensive experience in emergency and critical care. Animals are quite literally my life—both professionally and at home! Because of my veterinary background, I’m comfortable caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities, including seniors, puppies, large breeds, shy or nervous pets, and animals with medical needs. I’m experienced with administering medications, recognizing changes in behavior or health, and handling pets safely and patiently. I know how stressful it can be to leave your pet with someone new, so my goal is to make you feel completely comfortable while you’re away. I’m happy to send plenty of pictures and updates, follow your pet’s normal routine, and give them the same attention and affection I’d want someone to give my own. Whether your dog wants a good walk and some playtime, your senior pet needs a little extra TLC, or you simply need someone dependable to check in while you’re away, I’d love to help. ❤️ I work a set veterinary schedule, which gives me several days each week available for pet care. My availability varies by week, but I’m able to accommodate daytime visits, walks, drop-ins, and some weekends. I’m happy to work with you to find times that fit your pet’s normal routine and needs. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. As a Registered Veterinary Technician with over 12 years of experience, I’m trained to recognize changes in behavior or health and am comfortable caring for pets with medical or special needs. In your home, I will closely follow your instructions and your pet’s normal routine, including feeding, medications, walks, litter box care, and any household safety requirements. About: Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family always had two or three at a time—from Huskies, Malamutes, and wolf dogs to French Bulldogs, Border Collies, and Pit Bulls—so I learned early that every breed brings its own personality, challenges, and way of learning. Over the years, I’ve worked on the fundamentals with a wide variety of dogs and later had the opportunity to learn from an experienced trainer with a background in search and rescue, protection work, and advanced behavior training. That experience helped me expand my skills, understand dogs on a deeper level, and appreciate how much the right approach can change both a dog’s behavior and their future. Now I’m building something of my own. My goal is to keep learning, keep improving, and use the skills I’ve developed to help dogs become more confident, manageable, and successful in their homes. Most importantly, I hope to help give dogs with behavioral challenges a second chance—and keep as many as possible from being euthanized simply because they were misunderstood or never given the right training. I tend to favor weekends and over nights with my work schedule. However, flexibility is possible. Scheduling your pups appointments ahead will always be recommended! I work with both dogs and handlers/owners to facilitate better communication. Once a dog can communicate effectively with their human, a bond deeper than “the hand that feeds me” can develop.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
