“Sophia did an excellent job replenishing the wet food in my cats' refrigerated feeders. She also topped off the water fountains. Highly recommend her to handle pet care even when you use high tech equipment like me!”

“Was wonderful with messaging updates, as well as making sure that we had pictures of both of the pets to check in on them. Great job and would absolutely hire again if we need to!”

“First time user on the Rover app. Pretty nervous all the way up until the time of our first booking, or at least up until our sitter Asja arrived. She got along well with our Dog instantly, which we were worried about since he hasnt had much time socializing with people. You could keep looking around, but you probably wont find a better sitter. Book with her before someone else does 👍”

About: I absolutely love animals of all kinds and will provide excellent care for your pet. I treat every animal as if they were my own and strive to give them the same level of attention, safety, and compassion I would expect for my own pet. I have experience caring for both senior dogs and puppies. I understand the importance of providing gentle, patient, and attentive care to older dogs. In addition, my fiancé and I adopted a 2.5 month old puppy in May 2022. Her name is Lola, and we successfully trained her through her puppy years. She is now two years old and is a cattle dog, husky, and border collie mix. I am also experienced with high-energy dogs that require plenty of exercise, stimulation, and attention. My fiancé and I have lived in Marina, CA for two years, and I am very familiar with local parks and great places for dog walking. I also have hands-on experience caring for cats, guinea pigs, and hamsters. Our dog Lola also has food allergies, which has given me experience managing special diets. I also have experience administering medications when needed to dogs, cats, and rodents of all ages. I also have experience cat sitting, and truly enjoy working with animals of all sizes, personalities, and temperaments. “Nicole is a godsend! She took such amazing care of our cats, and I loved all of the adorable pictures she sent. I could tell my cats really enjoyed her company. She made our trip possible and made feel so at ease knowing my cats weren’t missing out on petting and loving while we were away. She also accommodated us for an additional day last minute. I can’t say enough good things, thank you so much Nicole!”

“Colleen truly does care about the well being of your pet and doing wherever is in it’s best interest. She scheduled a meet and greet with my dog and I before going on my trip so that he could get comfortable with her which made all the difference. Exceptional dog sitter!”

About: I have had a cat in my life since I was 5 years old. Almost all of them passed away from old age. The oldest was 17 years. For dogs, I was never able to have one growing up. We didn't have the room for one. But I have family members that had dogs and was able to help take care of them. I have dog sat for many years. During that time I would either pop in for a walk or stay with them for a few days. Now that I have a family, it's difficult to house/animal sit at other people's homes, but animals are always welcome in my home. When I am with your pet I do take pictures and send them to you. It gives the owners a peace of mind. I am currently not working. My days are filled with my 3 and 1/2-year-old daughter. I am showing her how to take care of animals. I take her to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am mostly home or going to walks or going to a park. I have a fenced yard and currently do not have a dog. I do have one cat that is mostly outdoors. I do have a medium size crate if your dog requires one. Animals are allowed on any of the furniture as long as it's not a table or a kitchen counter. I do have a small animal door leading to the backyard. I can close this off if need be.

“Esme was fantastic. She came over the day before the visits started and met Hercules and he took to her right away. She was fantastic with Hercules, always sending me reports after each visit and updating me. She was patient and flexible with me if I needed to change anything. Will totally rebook her for all future visits.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Salinas
Lisa was wonderful during drop-in visits for our cat while we were on vacation. We needed a last minute sitter and Lisa was extremely flexible. She dropped by for a meet & greet and got along great with our cat. She sent us photos while we were gone and went above and beyond to play with her as well. We will / would absolutely book Lisa again in the future.

Maria has been great! We have been working with her for months and have really grown to trust her. I really appreciate her timely and informative communication with me. Recently, our dog had a week of sickness, and she was more than willing to help clean up any of his messes he left. The pictures we receive in the Rover app definitely show how much our dog is comfortable with her. We are so grateful and highly recommend her services.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
