“Molly took wonderful care of my two kitties, Jackson, and Jackie while we were away! She played with my outgoing cat Jackson,and even got photos of my sweet little scaredy-cat, Jackie, hiding under the tub. I felt reassured that my little ones were in good hands. I’ve already booked her again for our next trip! Thank you, Molly!🐈⬛❤️”

About: Can you believe my parents didn't want a dog until I came along? When I was "finally old enough", I raised my first puppy. I've raised 3 puppies (family members) since then. What I have to offer: •available day + night - work from home (weekends off) •no breed or size restrictions •if your dog is high energy and large, then he/she must know basic commands like no, yes, come, stay. ♥ I will only care for one dog at a time (an exception can be made if you have two) since I want to give your dog (and mine) all the love. ♥ About me: my name is Scarlitte (pronounced scar-lett) Alameda, and I have a master's degree in Mathematics. I love to bake, relax outside with a cup of coffee, and dogs (of course). I moved back to the Monterey area in 2024. You can find me on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. I'm not active on them, but I like to check up on friends and family once in a blue moon. My dog, Luna, and I visit Broadneck dog park in the morning for about an hour. Here your dog can •run •zoom around with other dogs •play fetch •lay down under the shade. Luna normally sleeps until 3pm. She has a potty break around noon. In the evening, we drive to the dog park, and later we lay on the couch together. I have a fenced in backyard, many dog toys, leashes, an Apple ID tag, and a extra dog bed available. The water bowl is regularly cleaned and refilled. Because I only care for one dog at a time (other than my own), my house is clean. The only exception is rainy days since dogs have muddy feet. I can provide: • one on one attention • the best pets and rubs • speaking in a special voice for dogs • being active with your dog • on weekends my husband will remix songs he knows and insert your dogs name (don't tell him I told you though) • cool math facts since I'm a mathematician.
About: I’ve been around dogs all my life. Friends have trusted me to walk, feed and play with them for many years. I recently lost two of my dogs, so my house feels empty and can sure use some tail wagging energy. I’m currently going to school full time, with many of my classes being online, I have plenty of time between classes to give your fur baby love. I have a fenced yard, with plenty of room to run around and play. I love to go on walks twice daily which can last about 30-55 minutes, your fur baby will love them too!

About: I've been taking care of pets ever since I was a freshman in high school. I have pet sat, done check ins, and walk dogs frequently. I stay in shape and specialize with high energy dogs, and can provide the same amount of care to low energy dogs. I love dogs, and miss my dogs back home! I want to help take care of yours! I am a freshman at CSUMB staying on campus with my vehicle, with classes Monday-Thursday. I am available on the weekends at any time in the day, and my mondays are free until 3 pm. I am available early mornings on Wednesday-Thursday, and available after dinner all nights. I am young and active, and have a love for dogs. This is something I enjoy doing, and pay very close attention to pets to ensure safety. I am very energetic, and can match your dogs energy to wear them out , and get them out of the house. At home, I have a very high energy dog and a very low energy dog, and know how to work with a wide range of dogs.
“Corinne was fantastic! She was very attentive to my dog and his needs. She took great care of him while I was away and made me feel confident that he was being loved and cared for. I would 100% request Corinne's services again!”

“Cordelia was amazing! We have a large German Shepherd rescue who loves to bark at new people. She was incredibly patient, kind, and calm with our reactive boy. He warmed up to her very fast and missed her every time she left, something that hasn’t happened with any other sitter. She made our absence easier, we were very lucky to have her watch our pup.”

“Arlena is excellent! She follows instructions and is very dependable, and she gives cute daily updates. My cats immediately liked her which was awesome because one of them tends to be scared of new people for a few days. She takes good care of your animals and shows them love. Highly recommend!!”

About: Hi, I’m Alex! What sets me apart is my depth of experience and attentiveness. I cared for my own senior dog for many years, which gave me a deep understanding of gentle routines, mobility needs, medication awareness, and emotional comfort and connection. I’ve cared for other pets such as birds and reptiles, which sharpened my ability to notice subtle behavioral and health changes. In addition, I’ve spent years observing professional pet-sitting practices and routines, giving me a strong sense of what high-quality, reliable care truly looks like. I bring that same level of thoughtfulness and respect to every pet and home I’m trusted with. Availability & Scheduling 🐾 I work full-time M-F, so I primarily offer morning and evening walks and drop-in visits during the week, with additional flexibility on weekends. I love helping pet parents maintain their pets’ routines, whether that’s a morning potty break, an after-work walk, or an evening check-in. Please message me with your pet’s schedule so we can find a time that works! Overnight care is available on a limited basis for suitable low-shedding/hypoallergenic dogs, with arrangements confirmed in advance. When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I focus on keeping their normal routines, environment, and emotional comfort. I take a calm, observant approach—respecting each pet’s pace and preferences—while providing consistent care, companionship, and attentive support. My goal is always to create a low-stress, nurturing experience where pets feel secure, seen, and genuinely cared for. Every dog deserves loving, attentive care! I’m happy to welcome dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities for walks, drop-in visits, and other services that fit their needs. For overnight care, I specialize in hosting hypoallergenic and low-shedding breeds to help ensure a comfortable environment for both your pup and me.

About: I’m a third-year Molecular Biology student at CSUMB and a lifelong animal lover. My family has cared for a Havanese, Maltese, German Shepherd, and English Lab, so I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personalities. I also grew up riding horses and caring for pet fish, and I currently have a black cat named Salem. I’m patient, responsible, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe and cared for. I currently work part-time as a lifeguard at the Monterey sports center. I’m available for check-ins, walks, feedings, playtime, and overnight care depending on the day and time needed. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in their home environment. I’m very attentive to routines, feeding schedules, litter box cleaning, walks, and any special instructions owners provide. Growing up around cats, dogs, horses, and other animals has made me patient and reliable when caring for pets with different personalities and needs. I also understand how important trust and communication are, and I’ll always keep owners updated while they’re away.
About: I grew up with both dogs and cats, I even had a gecko when I was younger. I have lived with and cared for pets my whole life. I grew up with a orange tabby cat, and recently lived with a Bombay and an American shorthair. I have also cat sat an Egyptian Mau and a Nebelung. My friends call me the cat whisperer because even when they say "he/she isn't keen to newcomers, the cat tends to feel comfortable with me right from the start". This is something I love seeing since cats are known to be more picky about who they chose to rub against or get close to. I have also grown up around and cared for a variety of dogs. To list a few dog breeds I have cared for: American Eskimo, Labrador, Golden Retrieves, Huskie, Malamute, German Shepard, Cavapoo, Belgian Malinois, Golden Doodle, Beagle, Wiener dog, Katahula, Mountain Cur, Boxer. My first dog was an American Eskimo , and then my family also had a couple Labs and currently have a Katahula/Mountain Cur mix. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me with the care of their pets. I have experience working with working dogs (Belgian Malinois, German Shepard) and caring for them on strict schedules as my best friend has 2 working dogs that have alternating schedules and crate times. My last roommate has a Cavapoo and since I work fully remote I spent the days caring for him, taking him on walks, feeding him dinner, I even gave him bathes though he didn't particularly enjoy them. I love to go for runs/walks and love to cuddle. I promise that if you chose me to care for your pet they will receive all the love I have to offer. I currently work from home full-time with a lot of flexibility in my work schedule, so I am able to take the pets out for walks multiple times a day if needed, and it opens me up to be more available to watch your pets. I am a highly active person so having a furry companion to play with always makes my days better. I currently share an apartment with a roommate who does not do well with Pet Dander so it is best if I care for your furry friends at your home. I will respect your wishes whether you allow pets on furniture or not. I do not mind if they are on the furniture but that is a personal preference and understand the need for consistency with animals. When caring for your pet I just ask that you provide a note of preferred do's or dont's in your home.
About: I like to be active and go on runs or walks, so I can do any activity like that with your dog(s); whether we're playing fetch, going on walks/runs, visiting the park, etc. and I am a very patient and loving person! It would be a pleasure to have fun with your dog(s) in any capacity! I have experience house/dog sitting and running with even the most energetic dogs! I also have experience of taking care of puppies and understand the commitment level and patience to hang out with a puppy! I am capable of taking out dogs for walks or playing frequently. I would love to hear more about your pets and how I can help out! I work nearby in Monterey and some days I work from home. I can walk early mornings or after work days. I am flexible and can be available for weekends. I can do walks or runs in various areas. I have a small backyard, concrete/dirt mix where my dog has space to run and play fetch. It is all enclosed, and theres even a fake grass patch for dogs. I walk mornings and evenings and can also run dogs with extra energy. I work from home some days of the week so can be with dog for longer parts of the day and schedule can be flexible depending on needs.
“Sara did a great job for their first drop-in engagement with Leo and Phoebe. They followed directions well, including play time, administering medication, feeding, litter box hygiene and sending me updates. They were easy to communicate with and helped to transition Leo to new food and medication while I was out of town. I will be rebooking them. Thanks Sara!”

“I will definitely book again! My shy cats were both happy when I got home, she was very communicative and easy to work with, and the apartment was as I left it! I appreciate you checking on them!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
