About: About Me 🤍 Hi! I’m Alicia :) I’ve always been a huge animal lover and grew up around both dogs and cats. I have a Pomeranian of my own, and I’ve lived with and cared for all different kinds of dogs and cats over the years. I also have experience pet sitting, and I genuinely love getting to know each pet and their own little personality. I know every pet is different. Some dogs want to play and go on walks all day, while others just want to cuddle and hang out. The same goes for cats, some will be your best friend right away and others need a little time before they trust you. I’m very patient and always let them get comfortable with me at their own pace. I really just want them to feel safe and happy while their family is away. 🐾 I also understand that you’re trusting me with your home, not just your pet, and I take that seriously. Before getting into real estate, I worked in banking, so being responsible, trustworthy, professional, and respectful of people’s privacy has always been really important to me. I’ll treat your home with the same care and respect I would want someone to have in mine. A little about me outside of pet sitting: I’ve lived in Japan, Hawaii, Sacramento, and the Bay Area, and now I’ve settled in Monterey with my family. I love being outside, going to the beach, and taking walks around the coast, so having a pup come along with me makes it even better! At the end of the day, I really just love animals. Your pet isn’t going to feel like another “booking” to me. I want to get to know them, learn their little quirks and routine, and make sure they’re getting lots of love and attention while you’re gone. I want you to be able to enjoy your time away knowing your pet is happy, cared for, and in good hands. 🤍 I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets I care for. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, pet sitting, and overnight care throughout the week and weekends. I enjoy spending quality time with animals and making sure they stay on their normal routine, feel comfortable, and receive lots of love and attention while their owners are away. Creating a safe, calm, and loving environment for pets is very important to me. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully to make sure pets stay comfortable and on their normal routine. I pay close attention to each pet’s personality, needs, and behavior to ensure they feel secure and cared for. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I provide a clean, attentive, and trustworthy environment where pets are treated like family and receive plenty of affection, supervision, and patience. I also love keeping pet owners updated with photo and video updates throughout the day so you can feel reassured and connected while you’re away. I know how important peace of mind is when leaving your pet with someone, so communication is always a priority for me, and I’m happy to answer questions or accommodate any specific care instructions.

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life, from tiny Chihuahuas to energetic Huskies, so I’ve gotten to know just about every size, personality, and energy level in between! I’ve been actively involved in caring for my family’s pets for as long as I can remember, and I’ve been pet sitting and dog walking within my community since I was 11 years old. As a rescue dog owner myself, I understand that not every dog is outgoing, confident, or immediately comfortable with new people and situations. I have plenty of hands-on experience with timid, anxious, reactive, and quirky dogs who need a little extra patience and understanding. I believe every dog deserves to feel safe, understood, and loved, no matter their personality or background! I also have lots of experience caring for puppies, so I’m no stranger to the extra attention, patience, and energy that comes with young dogs! From frequent potty breaks and playtime to reinforcing routines and positive behaviors, I’m happy to adapt to your puppy’s needs. Above all, I know that pets are family, and I understand how much trust goes into leaving them in someone else’s care. My goal is to make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved, while giving you the peace of mind to feel just as comfortable while you’re away! As a college student, I currently have a very flexible schedule, allowing me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care! My only regular scheduling conflicts are Wednesday evenings and Friday midday, so I’m available most days throughout the week. Whether your pet needs a midday walk, a quick check-in, or some extra company while you’re away, I’m happy to work with you to find times that best fit your pet’s needs and routine! I currently offer pet care in my clients’ homes, where pets can stay comfortable in their familiar environment. I do my best to follow each pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and any other specific care instructions. During visits, I make sure pets have fresh water, clean up after them, and give them plenty of attention and enrichment through walks, toys, or quality time together. For cats, I’m also happy to take care of litter box cleaning and other daily needs. I always make sure pets are secure and the home is left tidy before leaving. I also prioritize keeping owners informed with regular updates and photos, so you never have to wonder how your furry family member is doing while you’re away! I’m happy to accommodate any additional instructions or preferences to make sure your pet receives the best care possible.

About: I have around 10 years of experience taking care of dogs and cats. Family members and neighbors have trusted me with their babies for years, and it’s something that I enjoy as well. I have looked after dogs anywhere from puppies to senior. I know the different needs at each stage of life and am able to provide them! I am currently a full time college student but have time in between classes. I am looking for a part time job with flexible hours and something more rewarding than a retail job. I love spending time with animals and taking care of them, and would love the opportunity to take care of yours! Although, I am not offering to take care of pets in my own home as of right now, I can assist with what clients need help with in their homes. Some examples of services I can provide are walks, potty breaks, playtime, feeding animals, and mild training such as walking on a leash without pulling or to sit and lay down.

About: Hi, I’m Jordan! I grew up with two French bulldogs, Layla and Iggy, so I’ve spent over eight years caring for my own pets, and I’ve been dog walking and pet sitting for the past year. I’m fully insured and love small to medium dogs of any age, from playful puppies to sleepy seniors. Every visit includes fresh water, potty time, and playtime, and I always send you a picture and a quick note so you know how your pup is doing. I’m a college student with flexible availability that changes by semester, so feel free to message me about your schedule. I’d love to set up a meet-and-greet so your pet can get to know me first! I’m a college student studying business, and most of my classes are online, so I have lots of flexibility to schedule visits and walks around my class schedule. Pet care started as a way to save up for my first car, but I love it so much that I’m working on growing it into a real business. For pet sitting, an example of what I do for one of my regular clients is: three 30-minute check-ins a day, around 7:30 AM, 12 PM, and 7 PM. Each visit includes feeding, potty time, playtime, and plenty of snuggles, and I’m happy to add an hour-long walk if your pup needs it or adjust the times/schedule as needed. Caring for dogs doesn’t feel like work to me. It’s the best part of my day! When I care for your pet in your home, my goal is to keep their day as normal and stress-free as possible. During out meet and greet I will always bring a notebook to make sure I keep meticulous detail of how you’d like their care to flow. I’ll follow your routine for feeding, potty breaks, walks, and any special instructions, and make sure they always have fresh water. Every visit includes playtime and snuggles so your pet feels loved while you’re away, and I’ll send you a photo and a note so you always know how they’re doing. I treat your home with the same respect as your pet, so everything stays clean and tidy and the doors are locked when I leave

About: I’m attentive and I have a really good reaction time! I’m also a kind and caring individual, I love animals a lot! I had two dogs in my family and I took care of them. With them, I was able to learn how dogs think and what their needs are! I’m taking a small break from my university right now, so I have plenty of time to take your beloved pups and take care of your cats! I’m free for majority of the time, just let me know! I had a dog named Spanky, he was my childhood dog who unfortunately passed away recently. He was apart of my family so he wasn’t just a pet to me. I had a schedule for him and he would take daily walks around the neighborhood and beach. He would also eat at certain times with good quality food to keep him moving and grooving. He lived a long and happy life!

I recently relocated, so I am offering discounted rates as well as a promo code for first time Rover users: DANIEA95969 If you have a dog with reactivity, I am happy to help! Reactivity can be a stressful matter for owners to endure with their pet, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve to be outside and explore. Feel free to message me with questions if you would like to set up walks with your reactive dog. I also have experience with senior dog care including walking challenges, diaper changes, and oral medication. No matter the breed or size, I will care for them like my own. About: Dogs have been part of my life since day one! My mom has been fostering dogs ( Shamrock Pet Foundation in Louisville) since I was a baby, so I literally grew up surrounded by dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. From shy rescues to energetic puppies, I’ve had hands-on experience caring for them all. Being around dogs just comes naturally to me — they’ve always been part of my family and my everyday life. I’m confident and comfortable making them feel safe, happy, and loved. I treat every dog like they’re my own, and I always tailor care to their unique needs and personality. As a student at NPS with a flexible schedule, I have lots of time to dedicate to dog walking or pet sitting — and I’d love to spend it with your pup! Safety, trust, and comfort are my top priorities when caring for pets. Whether I’m in your home or welcoming your pet into mine, I make sure they feel secure, loved, and relaxed. In your home, I always respect your space and routines. I follow your care instructions closely — from feeding and potty breaks to playtime and preferred walking routes — to keep your pet’s day as normal and stress-free as possible. In my home, pets are treated like family. I create a calm, safe environment where they can feel comfortable, whether they’re playful or more laid-back. I make sure the space is pet-proofed and that they always have access to water, cozy spots to rest, and supervised outdoor time in the dog park or in the fenced backyard. I also believe in building trust — both with your pet and with you. I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos, so you always know how your furry friend is doing!

“Amber was always on time to take care of my pets. She gave them affection and play in addition to my regular care requests. I received pictures and or videos from each visit. Amber communicated and responded quickly when I had a question. I will absolutely use her again for pet sitting and would recommend her to others. I have used other local pet sitting companies within the last 6 months and I was very unhappy with their services. I am very pleased to have used Rover and worked with Amber. Working with Amber allowed me to enjoy myself on vacation while I was away from my pets.”

All my dogs are well behaved, socialized with humans and other animals in the home. Preventative health care, vet visits when necessary, and my current dog has health insurance. I am a non-medical senior caregiver through an agency. Going to further my education in fall 2027 I'd like prioritize my job hours during the weekends. FAQs for Pet Sitting - Nashua

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
