“We were so lucky to find Sara for our two-week trip. As first-time Rover users, we were a little nervous, but Sara completely put our minds at ease from the very beginning. They were professional, warm, and clearly wonderful with our two dogs. The best part was their communication—we looked forward to their daily photos and updates! It was so reassuring to see our boys happy and well-cared-for. We came home to a tidy house and two very happy dogs. We fully trusted Sara in our home and with our pets, and we will absolutely be booking them for all our future trips. Highly recommend”

“Rain was absolutely incredible. She responded to our request instantly, was extremely flexible with our last-minute needs and crazy early morning start, and was punctual and great at coordinating. Moreover, she took care of both of our dogs and our space extremely well, they had a great time, and were happy and energized. She literally made our engagement day possible and we can't thank her enough. We would trust her with anything. Thank you Rain!”

“Greta was GREAT! Throughout the whole process she has been prompt with communication and oh so pleasant. She clearly developed a caring and affectionate relationship with our dog and she was well cared for during our vacation. She also kept us appraised of their activities with plenty of photos, which clearly showed that Tilly was well cared for and having fun. She also took good care of our home and we returned to a clean and orderly house! Always a plus after vacation. I would recommend Greta without reservation.”

About: I’ve loved caring for pets for years and have hands-on experience with both dogs and cats. I was the primary caregiver for a family friend’s dog for over a year during COVID and have also looked after my uncle’s dog during multi-week stays. I make sure every dog gets plenty of walks, park time, exercise, and socialization, along with feeding, pee pad changes, and a clean, happy home. I’ve also cared for about five cats over the years and currently have a cat of my own. I know how to keep cats happy, healthy, and comfortable with feeding, litter box care, and plenty of gentle attention. I love spending time with animals, making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away. I am currently attending hartnell college as a full time student and athlete. As every semester changes due to classes, my practice schedule is always consistent. I am unavailable from 12-3 everyday, other than that I am completely available depending on my class schedule! I am available on Saturday all day, Sunday I am available after 10am. When I care for pets in a clients home, I like to treat their space and the pets as if it’s my own. I follow each pets routine closely, I make sure feeding is on time, fresh water is provided, and giving a lot of affection. For dogs I make sure to take daily walks, visit parks or local areas for exercise and socialization if that’s what the dog feels comfortable with, and to make sure they get a good amount of stimulation and play time. For cats I maintain litter boxes, cozy and warm resting spots, and prioritize spending quality time playing or even just keeping them company so they’re not alone. I also keep the home clean and organized, tidy up any messes, and make sure the environment stays safe and comfortable for the pets. My goal is always to help pets feel happy, relaxed, and loved while their owners are away.
“Melissa is definitely 5 star! Excellent care of my kitten and my home, including sending me updates and photos while I was away. This is my second time with Melissa, and I will definitely be requesting her in the future for her pleasant, dependable, and very helpful manner.”

“This was my first time using Rover because I have an anxious dog and I was worried that my dog would freak out with a stranger. I booked last minute with BreAnna and I couldn’t have made a better decision! BreAnna went of her way to make me and my dogs comfortable. She consistently sent picture updates, and treated my dogs exactly how I would if I was home! Absolutely will use again! 10/10!”

“Zoe was amazing ! Ellie loved and adored her and was clearly well looked after for the two days we were away. Zoe kept us updated throughout her stay and were so grateful to have found an awesome dog sitter :)”

“Harrah did a wonderful job caring for our two little dogs. She sent me lots of pictures and videos, including ones of their food portions which l thought was a great idea. She was responsive to my questions and it was clear that even my timid dog loved her.”

“Katie was a wonderful cat sitter! She stayed with my cat while I was out of town for six days. She was easy to communicate with and sent photo updates regularly. When I got back home my cat was happy and my apartment was in great shape. I would definitely book with Katie again!”

“Chris did a fantastic job sitting our dog. He’s a very caring and patient person. He was also very flexible when it came to adjusting his schedule. Our dog Daisy really liked him too :) Looking forward to booking him again.”

About: I have had dogs, my whole life, loving, and caring for them. I have also volunteered at an animal shelter where I would work with different animals, dogs to guinea pigs and rabbits all in different stages of their lives, giving them loving care to them all. I go to school and work part-time so I have plenty of enough time and flexibility to care for animals in between classes or before and after work. With my cats and dogs, I make sure during outside time that my cats are in their harnesses and that I am observing both the cats and the dogs. When I am away, both my dogs and cats have their individual spaces separate from one another, and share one area that has their food and water.
About: I love animals and am very active—perfect for active dogs or large breeds. I worked at a dog boarding facility on weekends in high school and have pet-sat several local animals, including two senior dogs. I’m very outdoorsy and would love to take your pet with me on walks or to the beach. I’ve also worked with farm animals and have 4 years of care experience with chickens, cats, and livestock. I work a 9-5 and am active after work and on weekends! I can house-sit over the weekends and walk and care for pets in mornings and evenings. My house isn’t open to pets, so I’d love to care for your animals in the place where they’re most comfortable (and I’ll keep an eye on your home if you need as well). I like to play and take pets outside (when I can), but have no problem staying inside and relaxing with a chill pet.
“I loved Andrea taking care of my cat Billy and the odd menagerie of feral cats that live at my home. She did an outstanding job. She follow the instructions carefully and was able to follow them and feed all the cats and take good care of Billy and the others. She stayed and played with Billy, which he loved. She maintained the litter robot, which is sometimes a challenge. She kept everything clean and took care of them the day I came home so I didn’t have to worry about them. I highly recommend Andrea, she is very conscientious and pays attention to detail and send pics and is really aware of how special our babies are to us and she is very good with cats. I will use her again when I attend my brother’s wedding soon.”

About: I have been taking care of cats all my life as well as taking care of my friends and families dogs while on vacation or whatnot. I love all animals and make sure to be very gentle and patient with any pet. I am currently a student at Cal State Monterey Bay, this semester I am taking mostly morning classes making my afternoons and nights free for dog sitting, house sitting, or dog walking! Weekdays work fine, I may just need to drive and attend my classes then I can get right back to your pet. I have had many cats in my house growing up which I was in charge of feeding, litter, water, and getting them inside at night. I have fostered a dog before for a few months as well which was a wonderful experience. I have always gone about being patient with animals and am always very respectful with my home and my animals, and of course especially respectful with another persons home and animals.

About: I have been around animals my whole life. I've had cats and dogs, trained a horse, raised snakes, and rescued a tarantula. I trained a bearded dragon lizard to stay on a leash and come on bicycle rides to the park. I am thoughtful and courteous with all animals, while maintaining boundaries for safety of both handler and animal. I am the primary caretaker for my family's needy cat, who requires medicine regularly. I am very active, so if you have a high energy dog I can take it on long walks. Or I can sit and give company to a calm animal! Let me know your pet's needs and I can help. Setting a "years of experience" is awkward as I am new to Rover, but I am 36 years old and have spent most of my life interacting positively with animals and engaging in their training. I am an academic geologist, presently between jobs - finding academic work is difficult. My prior post-doc ended so I live with family now. I can care for pets most days, with some time set aside for my athletic training - some of which can be worked into pet sitting as transit to and from a gig (cycling) or during (walking/running). My constraints are for prescheduled events, but I have significant flexibility overall! In my own home, my family has a formerly stray cat named Nosey - a smokey tuxedo cat. He has some health issues due to his former outside life and I give him his food and medicine as prescribed. I am good at intuitively working with an animal's personality to make them comfortable. Nosey likes our presence but not a crowd. I get around the Monterey Bay by bicycle, and can easily care for pets in their own homes, and take them on walks. I am an endurance athlete so it will be difficult to wear me out. I do keep rules and boundaries with animals, but do my best to set them calmly (ex: I ignore a dog who jumps on me to show it does not give them attention, but do not immediately punish). I've worked with cats, dogs, horses, lizards, and snakes. I love animals and work respectfully with them. The lizard in my photo is Zevran, a bearded dragon. I loved her dearly, and always will. She adored attention and walks in the park or trips to cafes. She even went around town with me by bicycle from the safety of a cat-backpack (she knew it was safe too - she'd jump in if she was sleepy, but be chilling with good views when awake!). She passed due to leukemia, even with the best vet care she could get. While ill I gave her antibiotic shots and oral medicine. Her vets praised the care I gave her, but leukemia is a cruel disease with no good options.

Georgina was absolutely amazing! When our original sitter canceled last minute, she stepped in without hesitation and handled everything beautifully. One of our cats was under the weather and needed daily eye drops and extra attention. Georgina cared for her with such skill and compassion it was commendable. Her attentiveness and confidence with the medical side of things gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We came home to happy pets, a spotless house, and a warm, welcoming energy. She truly went above and beyond. We highly recommend her and have already booked her again for our next two trips!

Olivia was a conscientious and thoughtful sitter for our kitty and scared little blind dog! She was super patient. Olivia left our house clean and tidy. Not only that she’s a smart and really interesting person! She has horse experience as well and will book her when I need an equine sitter. 15/10 would book again!
