“We had a great experience using Kathryn to do daily afternoon walks with our dog Blue while I was away on vacation for a week. She was very reliable and Blue was happy to walk with her. She has a calm and kind demeanor that worked well for him. I highly recommend her and will definitely be booking her for additional walks in the near future.”

“Megan did a great job walking our boys. She was prompt, sent update pictures, and she was very communicative throughout the process. We will be scheduling her again as soon as we’re in need.”
“Tawana has been amazing walking our 3 pups! I have very specific instructions for each dog as each have a history with being reactive and she has been nothing but respectful and communicative with each walk! Love seeing the pics she sends too. Will definitely continue to use her for our walks!”

“Sharon was amazing! She came over before we needed help with Fitz to meet him, and he loved her at first sight. She was communicative, quick to respond, and timely. I highly recommend!”

“Libby took such good care of our girl! Our pup can be a bit lazy and Libby did a great job getting her motivated for her walk and followed our instructions perfect. Thank you Libby!! Will be rebooking”
About: Hi, I’m Lauren! I’m a lifelong animal lover who knows that pets aren’t “just pets”, they’re family. I grew up with both cats and dogs, have cared for other people’s pets over the years, and currently have an 11-year-old dachshund of my own. I’m comfortable caring for senior dogs and dogs with anxiety who may need a little extra patience, reassurance, and understanding. As a pet parent myself, I completely understand the stress that comes with leaving your pet behind while you’re away. You’re not only looking for someone who will show up, you’re trusting someone to care for a member of your family. I want you to be able to enjoy your trip knowing your pet is safe, comfortable, loved, and being cared for by someone you can rely on. One of the biggest benefits of caring for your pet in your home is that they get to stay where they feel safest. Their favorite bed is still there, their familiar smells are still there, and their normal routine doesn’t have to disappear just because you’re away. And when it comes to that routine, there’s no such thing as too much information! I genuinely want every detail you’re willing to give me, feeding times, walk schedules, medications, favorite toys, sleeping habits, commands, quirks, hiding spots, anxieties, comfort items, where they like to be scratched, and even the little things that might seem silly to anyone else. My goal is simple: the only part of your pet’s routine that should change is that you’re away. Everything else stays as familiar and consistent as possible. Whether your pet is young and energetic, a senior who prefers a slower pace, or an anxious pup who needs extra reassurance, I’ll meet them where they are. I’m happy to follow detailed instructions and give them the patience, affection, attention, and consistency they’re used to. I’ll also keep you updated so you don’t have to spend your trip wondering how things are going. I know how reassuring it is to see that your pet is happy and doing well while you’re away. I’d love the opportunity to get to know you and your pet, learn their routine, and help make being apart a little easier for both of you. 🐾❤️ I work full-time as a nanny Monday through Friday from 8 AM–4 PM, with open availability on weekends. Outside of my work hours, my schedule allows me to be flexible and intentional with my time, so when I accept a booking, your pet can be a top priority. I’m happy to plan my mornings, evenings, and weekends around your pet’s established routine as closely as possible. Whether that means morning and evening walks, meals at specific times, extra playtime, cuddles, or simply being there to keep them company, I’ll make sure they receive the attention and care they’re accustomed to. I’m also mindful of how long your pet is comfortable being alone and want to know what their normal day looks like before accepting a booking. My goal is never to overbook myself, it’s to make sure I have the time and flexibility to give your pet the dependable, attentive care they deserve. 🐾 For everyone’s safety and comfort, I provide care exclusively in your home, as my own dog is reactive to other dogs. I’ve also found that many pets are happiest staying in the environment they already know and feel safe in, surrounded by their own bed, toys, smells, and familiar routine. Keeping them at home can make your time away feel much less disruptive and help create an easier, less stressful transition. Your pet’s safety and comfort will always be my priority. I’ll follow your instructions closely, respect any boundaries or behavioral needs you share with me, and make sure doors, gates, leashes, medications, feeding routines, and anything else important to their care are handled exactly as requested. Please tell me every quirk, trigger, habit, or precaution, there’s no such thing as too much information! I have a manual for my own dog for sitters! And I know you’re trusting me with more than your pet, you’re trusting me with your home. I take that responsibility just as seriously. I’ll treat your space with care and respect, keep things tidy throughout my stay, and make every effort to leave your home even better than I found it. My goal is for you to come home to a happy, comfortable pet and a clean, cared for home, so the only thing you need to worry about after your trip is getting all the “I missed you” cuddles. 🐾❤️
“Kristin has been amazing with Stella and Milo! She is able to adjust to both of them during walks and spend time with them at home when needed! Making my working days really more enjoyable knowing they are both well taken care of!:)”

Looking for a temporary cozy home your sweetest or craziest family member? I’m here to help. Note: I’ve also cared for pregnant dogs and newborn puppies before, as well as ill dogs who need medicine various times a day. I work remotely a couple days a week, especially Fridays. I’m happy to take your pet for the weekend and provide a happy place for them while you are busy! I can also care for pets in the evenings after work. My space is quiet since I don’t have small children or other pets. I try to be as respectful of your pets boundaries as possible and always keep my and your space clean. You won’t come home to sand all over or stinky bags of poop, I promise.

About: I’ve been working in the pet care industry for over 8 years, with experience in both dog and cat care. I’ve spent time in grooming salons and doggy daycares, where I developed strong skills in handling pets of all temperaments and sizes. My training began at Essex Tech, where I learned how to groom dogs and gained a foundation in basic obedience training. Over the years, I’ve been trusted by many pet owners to care for their beloved animals—whether it’s grooming, feeding, walking, administering medications, or just spending quality time with them. I’m confident in my ability to care for both dogs and cats with patience, compassion, and attention to detail, and I take pride in creating a safe and loving environment for every pet I look after. I’m fully committed to giving your dog the attention and care they deserve. Whether it’s a fun outing to the dog park or beach, a long walk, or just a quick stroll around the block—I’ll be there to make sure they’re happy, safe, and well-loved every step of the way. Every animal in my care receives the attention, love, and support they need—whether they’re staying in my home or I’m caring for them in yours. I always strive to do what’s best for the dog, their owner, and myself, making sure everyone feels comfortable, respected, and at ease in every situation.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
