About: I grew up on a farm where I cared for a range of animals from chickens to cats. From there, I have always had a pet to share my heart with. I have had guinea pigs, cats, dogs in my own home and have yet to meet an animal I don't get along with. I am looking for flexible work so that I can finish writing my novel without letting the burden of finances fall completely on my husband. I figure walking and caring/sitting for animals to help keep my family fed is a great match for me, my personality, and my love for animals. I used to work 13 hour days, an hour from home, so I understand the importance of a pet nanny and would be honored to help you with that need! My two fur babies, Lily (9 year old Ragamuffin kitty) and Ellie (5 year old German Shepherd) have different personalities and co-habitate beautifully, but I would not want to introduce other animals into my home. Both of my girls are rescues from different shelters (Angels for Animals and One of a Kind Pet Rescue) and they both lived stressful lives before me so my job is to give them sanctuary and love. That said, in regard to care, Lily is pretty self regulated. Every other day, her food bowl is re-filled (no, you can't see the bottom of the bowl but she's my sweet princess who gets what she wants) and her kitty litter is scooped every other day and changed as needed. Ellie is a rescued Puppy Mill momma who grew up in a very confusing way and is forever married to routine. To keep her happy and healthy, we let her out same time each day (7am) where she eats 1.5 cups of food, potty break at 12pm and again at 5pm (1.5 cups). Ellie's gets let out 3 times a day, per her wants because I try to let her out more and if she doesn't have to go potty, she turns around and lays on her Tempur-Pedic bed. Otherwise, when the weather is appropriate Ellie and I take a minimum of a 15 minute walk in the park behind my house.
