“Michelle was great. She was very active in communication and sent lots of pictures. My house was in good order. My animals seem very happy and normal. She stayed for 5 days. I would recommend Michelle.”

“Heather has house-sat my two Heelers and cat multiple times now and she’s been amazing every time. She communicates great and sends adorable photos/videos. I always know my babies are in good hands when I leave town!”

“Delaney takes care of our 8 year old lab who loves to play ball. Delaney is reliable, communicative, and leaves our home clean and tidy. Our dog always seems well cared for and happy upon our return.”

“Gaby is a gem! She did SO well with our sweet senior pup, going above and beyond to give her lots of snuggles and attention, sending us frequent updates and cute photos, and taking great care of our house too. She cares deeply about animals and we are grateful she cares for ours too! She came for meet and greets, asked great questions, and noted down all the important details about our dog including medications etc.. We would strongly recommend her to anyone and can’t wait to have her back over to care for our dog again!”

“McKenzie went out of her way to come meet my dog and I prior to her stay. She has a very kind presence and made me feel very comfortable leaving my pet and home in her care. Would absolutely book again!”

“Olivia was able to come stay at my place with my sweet Thor while I was out of town for a weekend. She was communicative and punctual, and agreed to a meet and greet before I left town. I received updates throughout the weekend and my place was left clean, tidy, and with a happy dog :) I will definitely reach out to Olivia again in the future with any dog sitting needs :)”

“kirk took care of my dog and home while i was away for a week. he was kind and professional. he sent me updates and pics of my pup every day and was very responsive to my additional texts. when i came home, my dog was happy and my place was spotless! 10/10 would use kirk again and recommend him to friends!”

“Mark is the best! He kept us thoroughly updated on his and our dogs’ days, and we so appreciated it. He made sure our Willy was comfortable with him. He went above and beyond and he’s amazing. Will always use him.”

“Diana house sat and watched our two dogs while we were away on vacation. She took them on a walk every day, played with them, and gave them so much love. She sent pictures everyday with updates on how they were doing. She was extremely responsible and communicative. When we got home, the house was cleaner than we had left it. I would work with her again!”

“I’ve used Rover a lot and I can positively say Gene is the best option if you need someone to watch over your pets! He kept me informed with an update every day without overwhelming me with messages. He has very keen sense of animal behavior. House looked perfect, animals fed and happy and a fantastic recap left behind for us. P.S. he impromptu watered our flowers.”

“Zoe was prompt, communicative, respectful, and an all around great caretaker of our fur babies and our home - we definitely hope to get Zoe’s help again the next time we travel!”

“Macy was absolutely amazing with our three dogs! She was very kind, respectful, and a great communicator. Our dogs absolutely adored her. We were at ease our entire trip knowing Macy was taking care of our dogs and home. We cannot speak highly enough.”

“Annie was awesome! She was timely, sent pics, was happy to adjust plans if needed and stay longer when our flights were late. And the dogs loved her!! Will definitely book again. Thanks Annie!”

“Meisha is always so wonderful with our dog and cat, and always sends such detailed updates with pictures. We love having her over to watch our fur babies! Couldn’t recommend her enough 🙂”

“Casey was truly an outstanding dog sitter!! She stayed at my house and watched my sweet old girl. Casey sent me daily pictures of Remie and her adorable dog, Moose sun bathing outside or taking naps. She was so sweet to even wash the bed sheets for me as I was returning home pretty late in the evening. Remie looked like she had a really fun time with Casey & Moose. Would HIGHLY recommend & book again with Casey. Thank you so much!!”

“Landon is a fantastic pet sitter. He came a day early for a meet and great and it was clear how seriously he takes the job. He asked a lot of important questions and listened very carefully to my instructions. He showed up right on time early in the morning, which I really appreciated. He will by my first choice for pet sitters going forward--definitely book him if he is free!”

“Stephanie was so great with our dogs! She sent lots of updates and pictures. She was really good with communication and responsive to our messages. She even saved us from a last minute cancellation from another Rover. Our house was left in excellent condition. We will definitely be booking Stephanie again.”

“Katherine is hands-down one of the best pet and house sitter we have ever had! From the very beginning, she went above and beyond to make sure our furry babies were in safe hands. Because our cat requires insulin shots, Katherine generously came to our house twice before her actual stay just to practice administering the medication. This level of dedication and care completely eased my anxiety and reassured me that she was the absolute right person for the job. While we were away, she sent detailed daily updates with fun photos, which we looked forward to every day. She kept both our dog and cat engaged, loved, and incredibly well cared for. To top it all off, we came home to a spotlessly clean house with the sheets and towels already washed. Katherine took exceptional care of both our home and our pets. I cannot recommend her highly enough - if I could give her more than 5 stars, I would!”

Catherine was an excellent cat/house sitter during our 2 week vacation this summer! She kept in touch with updates on our kitties and gave me great peace of mind while we were away that everything was safe and sound at home. We hope she will stay again next time we go away.
Sydney was easy to communicate with and took great care of Koda while I was out of town. Left the house tidy and even came back to check in on her and play some fetch on the last day since I didn’t return until the evening. Would recommend and use Sydney again!

My dog Ellie was not only safe, but she was happy, exercised, and emotionally fulfilled upon my arrival. Diana went above and beyond as she cared for my home and our baby. She sent regular updates which I was absolutely obsessed with. It is not easy leaving behind my home and fur baby, but I felt completely at ease during Diana’s entire stay in my home.

Wally had another great stay with Madison! I came home to a tired dog and clean house, which is always a great feeling after a long vacation. She sent daily updates and pictures, and took him for daily trail hikes or runs. Highly recommend, especially if you have a dog that needs quality exercise!

Abaigeal watched our puppy, senior dog, and cat for five days over a weekend holiday. She took our puppy on many walks and hikes, and sent really good photos of these excursions. Our puppy has trouble trusting new people, but she seemed to warm up to Abaigeal quickly for her! Our home was left in a great state and she made it easy for us to come home from traveling and relax.

Alexis was wonderful to work with! One of our dogs was a little hesitant around a stranger at first, but our other dog climbed right into her arms. 😂 She was quick to respond to messages, and genuinely seems like a very kind and caring person. We’d definitely recommend her!

Zoe is literally the best sitter we’ve had. We have an old dog with a lot of medical needs and she took SUCH good care of him. I almost don’t want to leave an honest review of how great she is because I don’t want her to get so booked up she doesn’t have time for us lol but she is truly amazing. I’m a cliche millennial dog mom with no kids who’s obsessed with her dog and Zoe is the only sitter I’ve met here who I trust will take care of my dog as much as I would.

We love Anna & Stephen so much! So glad we found them! They are so good to our animals. Most importantly all our animals love them too! They are very communicative everyday. When Anna & Stephen stay with our pups, we know they are safe and happy and in good hands.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mount Olympus walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mount Olympus maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mount Olympus choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
