About: I’ve grown up with dogs and other pets my entire life and currently have a husky of my own, so I’m very comfortable caring for dogs with lots of energy, strong personalities, and specific routines. Having a husky has given me plenty of experience with daily exercise, long walks, basic training, grooming, and keeping an energetic dog happy and stimulated. I’ve also cared for pets for friends and family over the years, including both younger, high-energy dogs and older dogs who need a little more patience and attention. I’m comfortable following specific feeding schedules, administering basic medications, and adapting to each pet’s normal routine. As a former EMT and current PA student, I’m attentive to changes in behavior or health and comfortable staying calm if something unexpected happens. Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and will treat your pet with the same care and attention I give my own. I’ll be on Oʻahu from October 18th through November 14th for one of my medical school clinical rotations in Kailua. During that time, I’ll have a fairly consistent clinical schedule, so pet care fits naturally into my mornings and evenings. I’ll be available for feeding, walks, playtime, and plenty of attention before and after my rotation each day, as well as more flexibility on my days off. Since I’ll be staying locally for the entire month, I’m also happy to work with your pet’s usual routine as much as possible. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet and home in someone else’s care. I always follow the owner’s instructions closely and try to keep each pet’s normal routine as consistent as possible, including feeding, walks, medications, exercise, and any house rules. I’m very mindful about keeping doors, gates, and yards secure, especially with pets that like to explore or make a run for it. I’ll also keep your home clean and tidy, bring in packages or mail, and keep you updated with photos and messages so you know how things are going. I’m happy to follow any specific instructions you have for your pet or home.

About: I bring over 10 years of hands-on experience working with animals, including more than 5 years as a kennel assistant and 5 years as a veterinary assistant. In addition to caring for my own pets, I’ve developed strong skills in administering medications, including insulin and asthma treatments. My time in a veterinary hospital has also given me valuable experience working with animals of all temperaments, allowing me to stay calm, patient, and attentive in any situation. I’m a full-time pet sitter, which means your pet gets my complete time, attention, and care. “My dog is on five different types of medications to address her irritable bowel and her arthritis. The doses cannot be missed and have to be administered on a strict schedule. Over the years, my dog has learned how to hide the pills in her mouth then spit them out when you’re not looking. If she misses her medications - especially the ones for irritable bowel - she gets sick very quickly and will get diarrhea. Sometimes violent and frequent diarrhea. So I was quite nervous about leaving her with people who weren’t familiar with her issues and her tricks. But Karen and Tony handled her like pros. How do I know? Because I came home to a healthy dog who showed no signs of having missed any meds. I can’t thank them enough for taking such good care of my Coco. Oh, and bonus, they are respectful sitters who left my home just as I had left it. They even laundered the sheets! About: I grew up with Great Pyrenees, Great Pyrenees/Border Collie, Australian Shepards mixes. I've walked, fed, brushed and played with these big dogs for more than a decade. The two Great Pyrenees sisters I currently help take care of have matured from 4 month old puppies to elderly ladies. I'm quite used to the typical arm jerk or pull that is often associated with walking big, enthusiastic dogs. I work during the day, but generally am up quite early and thus would be able to walk dog(s) before work. I am also quite flexible in terms of where I stay on Oahu and thus can easily incorporate dog sitting into my weekly routine. Alternatively, I have cared for large breeds in their owners homes in San Diego. I am extremely respectful of folks homes and belongings both in the context of pet care, as well as through AirBnB.
