About: Hi!! :) My name is Serena, I’m new on Rover and I’m very excited to meet some new furry faces! I’m the go to dog sitter for my best friend’s Husky & Shepard who is a tripod (3 legged king), so even though I’m new on the app I have a couple repeat clients! I used to volunteer at Pasado’s Safehaven in Washington, and my favorite thing was to bottle feed the cows! I’ve also fed & changed swan bedding on the swan committee, fostered a bob cat, squirrels, horses, and birds. For personal pets I have experience with dogs, cats, hamsters, parakeets, canaries, cockatiels, leopard geckos, anoles, hermit crabs, tarantulas, various fish and aquatic critters/plants. I’m HOME: Mondays,Tuesdays,Wednesdays,Thursdays. In OFFICE: Friday 7:30-4:30pm, Saturday 8am-5pm w/ 1 hour lunch breaks to check on your pet! I also have a pet cam I can talk to them, send you pics, and dispense treats :) I will make sure we do a meet and greet so we can discuss any specific needs/safety concerns you might have! I have a lot of space and working from home makes frequent checks as simple as looking over from my work desk. My apartment unit is also directly across from the complex dog park and a large grass area! I have one cat, but she’s anti social so she would be kept separate in another room to enjoy her peace and quiet

I am an animal behavioralist, I understand dog psychology, and I can read your dogs energy and body language really well. I tackle behavioral issues, including leashed; manners on, and off walks, setting boundaries, limitiations, expectations, patience, and structure. I have confidence with training, and I can also teach various tricks; like sitting, paw, spin, and more. I am still learning more ways to help dogs that need more advanced work like, severe aggression. I do leash work, and corrections for wrong behavior. I have trained the Chihuahua Mix in my photos. She needed help with walking on the leash, lunging, and being less attached to her owners. (She had separation anxiety). Throughout our bond, I have been patient with her, always allowing her to take her time with things, to both understand, and adjust; I also have experience with an Aussie cattle dog that had issues with pulling, and manners. Anxiety, bad behavior, pulling, or other uncomfortable issues arent a red flag for me. I'd love to work with any animal as long as they aren't aggressive, or has a bite history with humans (me included). I have loads of free time, and would love to share it with your pets! I commute using an E Bike, with long range. Active hours are 12:00 PM to midnight. Sometimes earlier, Sometimes later. I reply to all morning requests right when I log on at 2:00pm! NOTE ON BOOKINGS: Because true behavioral progress and confidence take time and consistency, I FOCUS MY SCHEDULE ON RECURRING, WEEKLY WALKING/HOUSE SITTING CLIENTS. BOARDING: When I take your pets into my own home, I will provide a kennel for your pets to ensure safety, and separation around my personal pets that I care for. Please let me know if they're friendly with cats as I cannot care for any predator reactive animals. DOGGY DAYCARES: If you book me for doggy daycare, you are giving me permission to transport your dog to a place throughout the day, like a dog friendly park to burn off energy and focus our times training, playing, and getting into our own dynamics including obdience. Their pet had bitten me because of undiagnosed resource guarding behavior when I was trying to play with their ball, and simply petting him. It has nothing to do with my ability as an animal caretaker, behavioralist, or sitter. Because the account was blocked and removed, the text explanation is gone, but the rating remained. Please dont let this scare you. As I now have experience with aggressive dogs. I have a job, a different one, I deliver food, and I am getting into writing unfiltered societal truths, and AI. I want to transition directly into animal care at the same time. I believe taking care of animals should always be in your daily routine because when I get tired I always make sure I take my dog out for a walk. With the cats I take care of, I make sure to feed them wet food, and dry food at the same time everyday, listen to their cues, and instinctively know what they want/need based on what they do/express. It feels like a natural instinct not a obligation to me. I'm always going to put my pets first. I find myself worrying, and thinking about them before making any sort of big decisions, and I will advocate for them in difficult situations. How I plan to take care of these animals safely in their own home and mine is by respecting their boundaries. First of all, not getting too close if they are upset with it, but also making sure they read the energy I give them. I'll always enter with a positive energy so they know I'm positive, and a calm energied person. If leashing in their home is required thats okay too. Honestly just patience, care, and most importantly repetition.

I have been taking care of dogs since I was 6 years old and will love and care for yours like my own while you are away at work or running errands during your busy day. I will pay special attention to their preferences (and yours) for all drop-ins, day care needs, and walks, and will be sure your pups are as happy as they can be! I have special experience with Beagles, Pitties, German Shepherds, sighthounds in general, and herding dogs such as Border Collies, but love all breeds and sizes. I am also very flexible and understanding of the modern schedule, so if you need to cancel, it's no worries! I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. I am able to work around your schedule and make sure your pup has the attention they deserve. My backyard is fenced, turfed, completely shaded, and has a mister fan. I also have a dog door and the back gate is always closed and locked. Inside is all tile and dogs are allowed up on the couch if they are allowed at home.
