I also have hands-on experience with cats, small animals (like guinea pigs and rats), reptiles, and even farm animals like pigs and ducks. If it has paws, claws, hooves, or scales — chances are, I’ve cared for it. When it’s a good fit, I love incorporating dogs into my daily life — whether that’s a nature walk, a car ride to town, or just relaxing outside. But I never take dogs to dog parks or chaotic spaces. If something feels too stimulating or simply isn’t right for your pet, we skip it — no pressure, no push. And if your pup is the stay-home-and-cuddle type? That works for me too. I always ask about behavior, routines, and preferences ahead of time and spend the first day or two getting a read on what your pet is capable of and comfortable with. My goal is to help every animal feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for in a way that honors who they are. I work from home full time! I have several clients but the type of work allows me to be extremely flexible for your pets! I know while some pets can just hang out while I work, others may need more care, enrichment or a closer eye - I can and will accommodate accordingly. Just let me know what your pet needs ❤️ When sitting at your home I prefer to stick to the spaces your pets are most comfortable in or used to as well as stick to a similar routine. I find this helps with separation anxiety and any confusion the pets may have since their favorite human is gone! If possible, I like to take dogs for a longer walk on the first day to help us bond and help me learn how they behave. For other pets, this may look more like a longer playtime, enrichment activity, etc. I want to make sure they’re as comfortable as possible with me in their space so that first day is important to me!

About: Nestled in the beautiful Santa Cruz mountains I will provide a safe relaxing experience for your cat or kitten. I have years of experience with my own cats and kittens and well as years of feral cat and kitten rescue and socialization. Each guest will have their own safe 3 tiered condo with outdoor window views of the mountains. Fresh filtered water in a circulating water fountain. Wet and dry food (Kirkland brand). Sensitive eaters are welcome to bring their own favorites. Litter box changes soon after use. As I live off the beaten path I am happy to provide door to door transformation within these zip codes 95033, 95030, 95010, 95001, and 95073. Shuttle service from Building Blocks preschool parking lot off Summit Rd or Blue Ball park in Soquel is also included. I am a retired graphic designer so am home during days and evenings. Individual care will be provided as needed. I will attend to your cat/kitten as needed throughout the day and night. I only have two cat condos in their own private room right off my kitchen. Your cat will be treated like part of my family. I will only be steps away and any given time to attend to their individual needs.

“Nora is a GIFT! About a year ago my now 14 year-old cat Riley abruptly lost a significant amount of weight and bloodwork showed some kind of significant liver event though nothing was evident in an XRAY or ultrasound. He was prescribed two ongoing medications to support his liver & reduce inflammation; a small pill that needs to absorb during a fast (no food for 2 hours before and 1 hour after) and a liquid medication that needs to be given with food. In addition to the with/without food medications complexity, successfully pilling a cat every day requires a deft hand—pretty straightforward for someone who’s good at it, increasingly difficult each day for anyone who isn’t. Add to the equation both Riley and his brother Ash are initially shy with strangers. All things considered to me the situation seemed like a complicated ask for a pet sitter, so over the past year I hadn’t gone away on any trips longer than 2-3 days. In the face of a terminal illness diagnosis in my direct family I came to terms with having to hope for the best using a pet sitter for an 8 day family vacation though I was very concerned about how Riley would be affected by the extended change in routine. Enter Nora; highly intelligent, highly *attuned* (to the pets & the people), instantly trustworthy, and very gracious, a rare combination of total professionalism & grounded compassion. Though Nora was only here for about an hour each day her presence *visibly improved* Riley’s health. I didn’t know it was possible to come home from being away for 8 days to find Riley noticeably fluffier and more energetic than when I left, but that’s the magic that unfolded under Nora’s care. She also sent me pictures of Riley and Ash every day and let me know how they were each doing, sharing her sophisticated curiosity & creativity getting Riley to eat more and Ash to gradually come out of his shyness with clear warmth towards both of them. It’s extremely clear Nora *truly cares* and is keenly observant and exceptionally competent, a combination that made it possible for me to relax so much more on my trip. About: I've had dogs and cats since I was about 13 years old. I am familiar with the basic care of pets and I'm open to helping with all sorts of things like giving medications since I do have two cats of my own. I have helped close family members with their pets and I'm now open to helping others witb their fur babies! I have a deep love for all animals and I currently work as a receptionist in an animal hospital. I am currently working a part time shift and a mom who has both busy days and some days where I'm very flexible. I am off two-three Fridays a month and my weekends are usually free. I am open to stopping in to check on your baby or bringing them to my place if needed. I have two of my own fur babies but I have the space to keep them seperate and safe is doable. I am respectful of others homes and will be extra careful to keep everyone safe.
