“I couldn’t be happier with the care Debbie provided for my Peter! From the very first meet-and-greet, it was clear she cared about animals. Debbie kept me updated with adorable photos and little notes about my dog’s day, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Debbie is also very communicative and responsive to all my questions. I highly recommend Debbie to anyone.”

“Madison is the dog sitter of your dreams. She’s responsive, punctual, gentle, attentive, responsible, she’s everything you hope for when looking for care for your pet.”

“Harper was amazing covering for us and agreeing to watch our dogs last minute and we are so glad she did! The boys were well taken care of and SO HAPPY to be in their own home rather than in a boarding facility. Hopefully we can get Harper booked again next time we travel. 10/10 would recommend! Thank you!”

About: Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always prefer preferred animals over humans! I’ve had cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, and I’ve never met a species of pet I don’t like! I’ve cleaned litterboxes, taken care of sick cats and dogs, walked and bathed dogs, and am constantly doing research to know more about our four legged family members! I currently work for myself and make my own hours, so I’m very flexible during the week! I have four cats of my own and one beloved nephew-puppy I often help care for. Never know a life without a pet! I can provide a clean and safe environment for animals such as puppy proofing, litterbox cleaning, dish cleaning, and accident clean ups while also providing other services to keep your four legged friends happy and healthy such as walks, play time, and whatever you feel your pet may need.
“Jenny was lovely to work with, accommodating, and was fantastic with her communication. She shared the best photos while we were gone! Our sweet Athena took to her immediately. We feel fortunate to have found her and will definitely be using her in the future. A+ cat sitter!”

About: I’ve always loved being around dogs! I've spent almost 3 years at a doggy daycare, where I'm actively learning how to read dog body language, keep group and 1-on-1 time safe, and handle feeding routines. Over the years, I’ve gained experience working with a variety of personalities including dogs who are reactive or display aggressive behavior. I also have my own reactive dog so I understand firsthand how important it is to be patient, attentive, and consistent. Taking care of animals is something I truly enjoy, and I always do my best to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. I’m currently working part-time, but I’m free most Mondays and Wednesdays from the morning through late afternoon. Fridays are usually open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., since I work at 2 p.m. Feel free to ask about other days too, and I can let you know what works for me 😊 I unfortunately can't provide space for your beloved pet as I have a reactive dog and cat. However, I believe that I'm able to make your pet feel comfortable in its own home even if you're gone. I can be playful but also relaxed. I will be able to give your pet plenty of attention when they want it!
“Liz watched our cats over our wedding week and was absolutely amazing. I did not worry about them for a second and knew they were in great hands. She sent amazing photos every day and everything was perfect when we arrived home.”

“Lori took great care of our Cockapoo, Ruby! She gave her lots of attention and took her "bunny hunting." Haha. Very happy pup! Will definitely ask her to help us out again in the future!”

“Amanda did a great job while I was out of town for a week. She kept me updated and sent me cute pictures. My senior kitty requires lots of care so it was great to know they were in good hands. Thanks again!”

“Makenzie was wonderful with our little guy who tends to be nervous with new people. She gave us updates and pictures with each visit so we could see how he was doing. I highly recommend using Makenzie!”

“I reached out last minute for thanksgiving and he made sure to take time out of his day and check in on my pup. He spent extra time with my dog to get his energy out, and sent lots of photos. Greatly appreciated.”

“Adam did an awesome job with my pups! Adam has cool vibes, communicates very well, and put my mind and heart at ease with my fur bumpkins. Even with a Reno project going on, Adam came through and assisted. Looking forward to the next time Adam gets to work with my trio!”

“Richard and his wife keep Izzy for the day while we were out of town. He was amazing and kept us updated with pictures and a video of her playing with their dog Bruce! Izzy had a blast with Bruce and Richard & his wife were great at recapping the day and things to keep an eye out with our growing pup! She was exhausted after all the fun play time. We will absolutely have Izzy back if/when a need arises!”

“I just had Will stay with my dog for the first time and he did great! Mabel is pretty high energy and she was very happy and relaxed when I got home. I will definitely use Will again :)”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Meridian Hills
We enjoyed meeting Nakasha at our scheduled meet and greet session. Nakasha did a great job of taking care of our fur baby while my husband and I were out of town. We appreciated the pictures and communication she provided us. We highly recommend Nakasha and hope to have her take care of our cat, Minnie the next time we go out of town.

I could not say enough good things about Jenny! She was so wonderful with my cat junie. She always communicated with me and kept me in the loop. I will definitely be booking Jenny for any future drop in visits! Thank you so much Jenny! You were such an angel!

We have a geriatric cat so I am always nervous leaving her but I feel better knowing Jena will be checking on her while I'm away. This is the second time we have had Jena petsit our cats (1 geriatric, 1 crazy kitten) and I intend on requesting her services next vacation.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Meridian Hills. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
