“Due to a recent change in employment it meant our dog was going to be left alone a few days a week. He has some separation anxiety and we’ve only had him 5 months so we were delighted to have found Haley to come and walk Boscoe and spend some time with him. Haley came prepared with questions for our meet and greet and was accommodating to our request to start a week earlier than we had originally requested. If it’s raining and he’s not feeling a walk she does enrichment activities with him. I love the recaps of their time together and the pictures she sends. Haley is very quick to respond to requests. We have a ongoing booking with Haley for weekly walks!”

About: Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always prefer preferred animals over humans! I’ve had cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, and I’ve never met a species of pet I don’t like! I’ve cleaned litterboxes, taken care of sick cats and dogs, walked and bathed dogs, and am constantly doing research to know more about our four legged family members! I currently work for myself and make my own hours, so I’m very flexible during the week! I have four cats of my own and one beloved nephew-puppy I often help care for. I’ve taken care of pets my whole life! I can provide a clean and safe environment for animals such as puppy proofing, litterbox cleaning, dish cleaning, and accident clean ups while also providing other services to keep your four legged friends happy and healthy such as walks, play time, and whatever you feel your pet may need.
“Ali and Gregory are adored by my dogs . They were super delightful to work with and my dogs miss them!! Together they walked our three dogs each day. A great team!!!”

“Allison is WONDERFUL! It is great peace of mind while we are at work knowing our girls are having a great time and getting exercise! She posts picture and a summary of the walk! She is fantastic and both of our girls love her!”

“We booked Brittany for a single walk, and she was wonderful! She was on time, friendly, and clearly comfortable with dogs. My pup came back happy and well-exercised. Communication was easy, and I felt at ease knowing my dog was in good hands. Even though we only used her once, I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again. Highly recommend giving her a try!”

“Jenny is very good with my Rottweiler Devi! She did a meet and greet beforehand and Devi was fond of her immediately. She is prompt and keeps the communication line very open and I hope to keep this relationship going for awhile for Devi!”

About: I have been a trusted pet sitter by family members, neighbors, friends, and coworkers for over ten years. I have experience with all kinds of critters, including dogs, cats, reptiles, and fish. I recently lost my senior rescue cat to cancer, so I am experienced in senior care and medication administration as well. My goal as a pet-sitter and dog-walker is to make your pet as happy as can be until their favorite people come home! I work remotely on Tuesdays and Fridays and would be able to provide in home visits or dog walks anytime throughout the day. My availability is more flexible on weekends. I am very adaptable and experienced with animals, so I am willing to learn and follow any instructions given to best care for your pet.

About: I have 8 years of experience caring for dogs and cats for friends and family, along with raising my own pets — my 8-year-old cat, Juliet, who I've had since she was a kitten, and my 8-month-old puppy, Suki. Caring for animals has been a huge part of my life, and your pet's well-being and comfort are just as important to me as my own furry children. I'm familiar with the unique personalities, needs, and routines of all types of pets, and I adapt my care styles accordingly. From shy and independent cats who require boundaries and space, to high-energy and anxious dogs who need stimulation and structure, I prioritize patience, routine, and positive reinforcement to make each pet feel safest and happiest with the care they're used to. I know it can feel a little nerve-wracking to leave your family with someone new. You'll always receive daily updates and photos, so you can feel connected and reassured. I’m happy to meet you and your pets beforehand to ensure everyone feels comfortable and to learn their specific preferences, routines, and quirks. You can have peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, cared for, and genuinely understood. As someone who works from home, I'm able to build my day around your pet's routine. Whether it's a last-minute drop-in or longer stays, I’m very flexible. I care for each pet in the comfort of their own home, where they feel safest. I focus on keeping their already established routine consistent, their environment calm, and their space respected. I respect each home as if it were my own, follow all care instructions closely, and make sure pets feel secure in their usual surroundings.
About: Im new to rover but not new to pets. Ive been giving pets the care they need for about 5 years. I have experience with pets of all shapes and sizes, pets with high and low energy levels and seniors also. I cherish caring for all pets and believe all pets deserve the same amount of love, care and patience. Weekdays I am available Monday through friday 7am - 6pm. I also can go later if needed. I am also available in the colder months I am also very aware of the safety of your pet during walks and am extra cautious of allergies, anxieties and the comfortability of your pet. I also am very big on reading body language and giving your pet personal space when needed.

About: I’ve cared for animals my whole life, especially cats, and have extensive experience independently caring for multiple pets at once. I understand animal behavior well, respect their boundaries, and prioritize both their physical health and emotional well-being. I’ve trained puppies, cared for friends’ and family pets, and even rescued injured animals and brought them to rehabilitation centers. I treat every pet like family and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for! Every day I make sure my cats have food and fresh water, and I refill their water multiple times throughout the day. I clean their litter box daily to keep their environment clean and comfortable. I make sure to spend time playing with them every day as well as brush them weekly/as needed. In addition, I make sure my home is kept at a comfortable temperature by using air conditioning or heat as needed with access to warm/cool spots in the house for them to go if they wish. Their health, comfort, and happiness are very important to me. I make sure pets always have fresh food and water, a clean living space, and plenty of attention. I strictly follow any instructions provided by the owner, monitor pets for signs of illness or stress, keep the environment safe and secure, and ensure they are comfortable at all times.
About: I’ve cared for pets since before I had a driver’s license, starting with walking which ultimately turned into overnight care. I love to see dogs and really all animals happy and well cared for. I love giving praise, talking to them sweetly, and showing them the attention they deserve. Walking, playtime, and even naps on the couch are great ways to bond with puppers. I am comfortable with administering oral and topical medications, changing diapers and bandages, and special diets. I can lift dogs up to 50 lbs. I am a full time nanny of over a decade with a lot of day time availability during the school year from August to May. Drop-in visits and walks would be a great way for me to see more doggos during the day and get more exercise :) With overnight stays, I provide house sitting services like mail & trash with lots of walks, playtime, and approved outings for your furry friends. I ask that I be able to work around my primary job but can still offer check ins every 3 hours for puppies and every 4-6 hours for adult dogs. I am respectful of agreed upon instructions and will care for all animals to the best of my ability. I feel animals are worthy of love and respect and safety.
“Lydia has been such a life saver for me! I recently moved to Indy from out of state and needed to find someone to take my sweet German Shepherd, Arya, on walks and play with her since I’ve been working long hours. Lydia also has a Shepherd, which really puts me at ease since they are such high energy pups! She has now been walking Arya regularly and I’m so happy to have her. She always gives me a report and takes photos of Arya, which just makes me smile and know she’s in great hands. 🙌”

About: Cat care with 30 years of hands-on experience - and a soft spot for senior cats. I grew up in an animal-loving family and have cared for pets my whole life, but senior cats are where I specialize. I currently share my home with three cats of my own: Chuck (17), Yuki (7), and Chicken Nugget (2) - so I understand the extra patience, routine, and gentle handling older cats need. I'm comfortable with medication administration, mobility-limited cats, and other senior-cat care needs - happy to discuss your cat's specific routine before booking. I typically reply in under 30 minutes. I'm available for short-notice and same-day drop-in visits, and I keep my calendar confirmed and up to date so you know I'm ready to help. Send me a message and let's talk about what your pet needs - I'd love to help! I work from home, which means I'm around most of the day and can easily fit in drop-in visits without rushing. I keep my Rover calendar confirmed and up to date, so if you see me marked available, I'm genuinely ready to help - including short-notice and same-day requests. Your pet's safety and routine come first. In your home, I follow the instructions you give me - feeding times, medication, litter box habits, and any quirks your pet has. I'm an enhanced-background-checked sitter with 30 years of animal care experience and a particular focus on senior cats, so I'm comfortable with the extra patience and gentle handling older pets often need. I currently share my home with three cats of my own, so I understand what a calm, well-run multi-cat household looks like day to day.
About: I grew up with cats and dogs and have been a pet sitter for friends, family, and colleagues for over a decade. I have hands-on experience working as kennel staff in a veterinary office that also provided dog and cat boarding. Through this experience, I learned a lot about pet care, different breeds and temperaments, and animal medical care. I also previously worked at a dog and cat grooming business. Both these jobs taught me attentiveness and calmness around animals. I am confident in caring for cats and dogs, including walking, playing, feeding, administering medications, following instructions, and maintaining their routine while giving them lots of love. I am comfortable with puppies/kittens all the way to senior animals. I pride myself in being reliable and building trust with both pet and owner. I treat every pet like my own and prioritize clear communication so owners feel at ease while they’re away. Depending on the service(s) needed, I am potentially available any day of the week. I work a typical 9-5 job Monday through Friday, but I am able to work remote at least once a week and to leave for breaks to go back and give dogs a potty break or administer medications. If I am pet sitting on a remote work day, then I will work from wherever your pet is. I take pet care seriously and will be sure to communicate my schedule and follow as closely to what your pet is used to. I can pet sit at your home so that your pets can remain in a familiar location. I respect that the home belongs to you and your pet(s). I will be sure to follow the given instructions regarding the home and the pet care. I prioritize keeping your pet's routine as consistent as I am able to and make sure they receive both basic care (food, water, bathroom) as well as attention, play, and affection.
“Abigail was great! Communication was excellent, always on time, and she provided daily updates on our dog with pics, making us feel at ease throughout our trip. Bottom line, we were confident that a reliable and caring person was entering our home each visit.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Meridian Hills
We had an excellent experience this past weekend, even with the extremely cold weather. She was incredibly reliable, caring, and attentive to my mom’s dog, making sure he was well taken care of and comfortable despite the harsh conditions. It truly gave us peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does and treats every dog like her own. We are so grateful for her dedication and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate dog walker.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
