Pet care experience

Experience with 100+ dogs and cats!

I believe the most important parts of pet care are love, attentiveness, and patience. I have spent my entire life around dogs: my own, volunteering at shelters, working at a doggy daycare, and being an independent sitter for the past several years. I have worked with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. I have received training from a canine behavior specialist, and have worked with numerous dogs with "behavior issues". This may sound cheesy, but I have always felt a special connection with dogs, and have had many people-wary dogs warm up to me quickly, if not immediately. I am kind, upbeat, and incredibly caring, but also know how to calm down and work with shy and skittish dogs. As happy as I am to have giant dogs jump all over me, I will follow the rules you have for your pet to encourage consistent training and good behavior. Because I spent over 2 years working in a doggy daycare, I know how to spot signs of aggression between dogs and prevent a squabble or fight from ever starting. Because illnesses and injuries happen often in dog daycare, I have first hand experience with what those look like, and will always tell you if I notice anything "off" with your dog, no matter how small. While most of my experience is with dogs, I love working with any animal, especially cats! My only pet right now is my beloved orange tabby, Finn. I'm so happy when I get requests for multi-cat homes. I've looked after some fish and reptiles as well. The automatic "cat price" for drop ins would be for one cat, on their own. I charge an additional $5 per cat, please disregard that it will show full price for each cat at first. If I'm watching your dog/s and cat/s, I also do not charge full price for the cat.

Repeat customer with Jess. She always takes great care of our dog. He gets along well with her, and we trust her care with him as she has experience with dogs that have reactive anxiety

Jess is just the best pet sitter for our cats. She sends great pictures and it’s clear that they love when she comes to visit. She also keeps us up to date on any changes when we’re away. She makes us feel so much better about leaving them when we’re away on vacation

Calendar and availability

Schedule

Pet care is my full time job, so I schedule my days around my walks and visits. The bulk of my business is checking in on pets while their parents are at work.

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

I care for my client's pets in a way I would want my own to be cared for. I go into my visits with a loving and fun energy, really just ready to have a good time with your dog. I'm attentive to any changes in behavior, and if I think something may be wrong I will try to figure out why, or at least gather the information I can to pass on to you. I always stay very aware of unknown dogs nearby (like if we're walking or at the dog park) and err on the side of caution to keep your dog as safe as possible.

Pets

A typical day

On top of the usual games of fetch and tug of war, I have no shame in playing with dogs like I'm a dog (so long as they're not too rough with me!) I also know of a few "brain games" to mix things up a little!

Any sort of behavior quirks or issues, as well as any medical conditions/needs. I'll happily work with pretty much any dog, but it's always good to know if they are shy or standoffish, and what are good/bad things to do with them so both of us are as comfortable and safe as possible.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
