“Cory is matter-of-fact, flexible, and a good energy for our hyper lab mix. We were able to schedule an additional walk during our vacation which we really appreciated. We received updates each time he stopped by. Big fan!”

“Jessica is so kind, fun, and clearly is meant to be around animals in one way or another. My boys were THRILLED to see her every morning. She was helping me out as I’m dealing with cancer - her flexibility and understanding nature helped me trust her in my home and with my boys. Book her!”

“Brad was amazing with our dog! He was incredibly conscious and respectful about maintaining any routines and training we had already established with our dog and was great with our sometimes unruly boy! I was very impressed with how communicative he was and took very well composed and extremely cute photos to send us! I would absolutely recommend Brad!”

“Hotdog Troy is an absolute sweetheart with animals! I am trying to help my Australian Cattle Dog, Nala, who is a skittish ARL rescue, become more comfortable around males and new surroundings. Troy was very patient and first conducted a meet and greet with a hotdog. The next day, Nala opened up and was able to walk comfortably with Troy. He gives the best updates, including photos. Highly recommend!”

About: I have taken care of my own and other's cats and dogs for years, from feeding, to exercising and of course plenty of clean up occasions. Not only have I managed a family home with both cats and dogs, but I also showed one of my dogs for AKC confirmation and graduated with another one of my dogs from obedience classes. I bottle fed two of my cats when they were infants and have cared for both cats and dogs into their senior, twilight years. I even cared for one of my senior dogs after she became deaf and blind. Just recently I helped usher my beloved 15-year-old cat across the rainbow. She was the last of my own pets. I have experience with dispensing oral medications and insulin shots to cats and dogs from very young pets as well as aging ones. In my professional life I was very organized, detailed oriented and practiced great communication skills. I will bring all this experience to the care and feeding of your beloved animals. I've experienced so much with my own and other folks’ pets, but now my two dogs and two-cat-household is feeling a little empty. So please let me offer my heart and hands to care for your dear fur babies. I am recently retired and have some on-going activities and appointments, but I also have quite a bit of freedom to determine my own schedule and be flexible. I have time and availability for daily visits, dog walking, or even in your household for overnight care. In your home I can offer feeding visits, occasional visits, dog walking, and if required, overnight at your home. Let's me know what you need to care best for your pet.

About: I have experience with puppies as well as elderly dogs, from the excitable to the scared. These incredible friends and family are very in tune with our energy, so make sure you’re bringing kind and loving people into their lives- and that’s me! It has been a pleasure and joy to meet so many wonderful animal friends and get to care for them! When I used to go parties, you could almost guarantee I’d be in the corner having found the furry or feathered family member, often hearing “they don’t usually like new people!”. I love to hang out with these friends- plenty of pets, toys, and walks- and lots of snuggles if they want them! I was also given the opportunity to help move a dog to the Middle East when the owner was nervous about moving and having to start immediately, so I was able to help with the transition with walks, food, comfort, and discovering a new country to help him feel safe and taken care of- and help his owner be at peace that he was being taken care of properly. I also have experience with dogs with arthritis and seizures. I am always honored to get to spend time with them! I am an artist with flexible schedule and always welcome a break to hang out with some awesome fur babies! I also share custody of my preschooler, so depending on the evening, I may have different options for time and I’m available every other weekend! I take being in peoples homes very seriously- I respect their space and make sure to follow instructions for the safety of the fur babies and myself! As someone in her late 30s, I have found that cleaning up as I go and using common sense and past experiences serve me well when no instructions are given for different situations.

About: Caring for people and pets comes naturally to me. I worked in nursing for several years before leaving to care for my father full time.between that and being a mom giving love and care comes easy. I have 3 dogs of my own, all of which are friendly and love a bit of play time. I am a big believer in fresh air and exercise. Let's get those steps in for your 4 legged family member. I don't work a regular job, I care for my elderly father and do some side work here and there. So I am available for walking or drop in visits at a moments notice. I have a fenced in yard and food and treats at the ready. Many leashes and brushes and more. I have 3 dogs of my own that love to play with each other and yours too. I can also keep my dogs away if yours isn't socialized to others.

About: I have a soft spot for the quirky or misunderstood animals. I pride myself on making sure your pet is comfortable and feels free to be themselves. I have experience with mildly aggressive dogs, senior dogs, puppies, and the medically challenged. I am typically available after 4pm monday-friday, and on the weekends I am fairly flexible. Working with animals is a passion of mine and does not feel like a job. :) I have a fenced in yard, and a spacious first floor in my home so I have plenty of room for your pet to run around or play.

“I wish I could give even more of a tip (rover won't let me give more than 30%), but Monica did an amazing job today. My dog had an accident in the house and she cleaned it up even though she didn't have to. Words cannot describe how awesome Monica is. 12/10 would recommend to anyone.”

“Nila loved going on a walk with Alexandra and was so happy afterwards! She was flexible even with our last minute request, great at communicating, and understood the differences in dog personalities and how to work with that. Definitely would recommend her!”

“Ezequiel R. exemplifies what it means to be a dedicated and compassionate pet sitter. His approach goes beyond the basic responsibilities of feeding and walking pets; he takes the time to understand each animal's unique personality and needs. Ezequiel engages with the pets through play and affection, ensuring they feel loved and secure while I was away. His attention to detail extends to maintaining routines, whether it's administering medications or sticking to specific dietary requirements. Additionally, Ezequiel values open communication with pet owners, providing regular updates and photos to reassure them that their furry friends are thriving. With his responsible and warm-hearted care, Ezequiel R. truly stands out as an exceptional pet sitter.”

About: I’ve loved being a mom to my rescue pup who recently passed away. I now work from home nearly full time and would love to love on your pup while you are away! I have flexibility to go for frequent walks and potty breaks and have tons of grass around to sniff and explore! I’ll love your pet like I love my own pup. I recently volunteered with KC Pet Project before moving back to Des Moines and have fostered a variety of breeds logging more than 100 hours in my first few months before adopting two more senior rescues Nov 2023. After I rescued them, I took a break from Rover to allow them to fully settle into their new environment. It’s been over a year since they came into my care so excited to get Rovering again! I only have 2 Rover pups at a time (boarding and/or daycare) to be able to provide the care and attention your pet needs and have a size restriction to small to medium dogs. My two senior dachshunds enjoy cozy blankets and napping on heating pads so a pups who enjoys a calm environment is a good fit for us. Be prepared for lots of photos and updates throughout the day! I work full-time but am 90% remote so I can let your dog out frequently. Happy to go for walks and explore the park near us! I can easily crate your pup and they are welcome to snuggle on the furniture or sleep in the bed (will crate if that is their routine). I have no kids in my home and it’s a pretty relaxed and quiet environment. We have dog ramps for Ang pup needing them.

“Natasha comes through when I need her, even in sub zero weather! She got to Tulip twice today and just played indoors since it was too cold for a Frenchie to go on a long walk!”

About: Hey there! I’m Rachel and I’ve had a family dog for as long as I can remember. But now I have a family of my own- my partner and I have 4 kids and a mini zoo with 1 bunny, 2 ball pythons, 1 bearded dragon, 2 dogs, 4 cats, 6 mourning geckos and 6 aquariums with fish, snails, dwarf crayfish and shrimp. So, I have a lot of experience with a wide range of animals. Since I’ve started pet sitting on Rover I’ve also gained experience with raw feeding cats and dogs, chicken wrangling, mini home repairs, tree moving, raspberry picking and goose whispering. I used to volunteer every day at the local animal shelter while I was in highschool where I got tons of experience with all types of dogs and frequently helped out the neighbors with their escape artist husky! I previously worked as an assistant dog trainer. I’ve gotten tons of experience with how to better read animal’s body language, create and maintained presence control and facilitate healthy play. While most of my experience is with dogs, I am a true animal lover. One of the biggest perks of having me as your sitter is that our whole family helps take part. My 15 year old, Bella, is usually heavily involved in the care of the animals we sit. My other 3 younger kids also absolute love to take care of and play with all the animals. If your pets like to hang out and play with kids, get attention all day long… your pets are in for a treat with us! (For boarding) We truly strive to give dogs a home-away-from-home experience where they just jump right into our routine. Most of the time they end up sleeping in bed with one of our kids, playing with us outside, getting loves on the couch- all the stuff a family dog can expect. We stand proudly in our family beliefs of qualify pet care and don’t want to be a boarding spot where they put your animal in a kennel, let them out twice a day and charge you extra for playtime or potty breaks. (For pet sitting at home): We do come and go more often when we are sitting pets at their own home but we still make it a family affair. We make sure to drop-in frequently to check on them, feed them, let them out and play with them! Bella loves to hang out with our pet clients and play with them. Sometimes I bring a different kiddo to stay the night with me each night so that they all get a chance to give individual attention to the animals we are watching. We also watch over the house and property. At one pet sit, there was a storm that ran through and a massive branch broke into the pet parent’s driveway, front yard, sidewalk and street! After we notified the owners, Bella and I got it moved out of the way of the street and sidewalk so the pet parents didn’t have to worry about it until they got home. We understand that pet sitting is more than just watching the pets at home and we like to provide a holistic approach. My wife, Leigh also cleans and manages houses when she isn’t at home with our kids. She was the manager and trainer at a locally owned high-end home management company for many years. If you want your house cleaned or you have an organizational project you want completed while you’re gone, let me know! Leigh would be happy to chat with you, figure out what you’re wanting accomplished and get it done while you’re gone. She’s got a plethora of clients who continue to be impressed with her work and ask her to come back as proof of a job well done- so it’s not just my (possibly biased) opinion. 😉 I work as a school bus driver primarily so it leaves my summer & most major holidays pretty open! When I am at work my wife is usually home with some or all of the kids, so even when I’m busy- we have the ability to care for pets. I am pretty flexible but my main priority is making sure I am respectful of your space as much as I would want someone to be respectful of mine. Taking photos and communicating heavily with pet parents is top priority for me. If you wish to have less communication, just let me know so I don’t send too many cute pictures of your pets! I know what a big deal it is to leave my pets in the care of someone else and as a result, I take the responsibility very seriously myself.

About: I have grown up around Large dogs. I've been fortunate to have some of the most loving dogs to raise. It's one of the most rewarding things I have done I my life.Over the years I have done in home dog care. Availablity: week days, weekends I have trained all of the dogs I grew up with and my current dogs. I've had a certified therapy dog and I'm really proud of that accomplishment. I love playing with all pups and would be willing to work on any training aspects of your dogs needs if you would like. I enjoy spending time with dogs by going on long line walks in the woods, finding some water to swim in, or going to see the beautiful area of Grays Lake. I love all dogs of all ages and my back yard even has a ramp for my seniors to gently make it to my yard. Senior dogs have a very special place in my heart. I will have plenty of time to play with your pets. I can spend quite a bit of time with your dog if that is what you would like or I can do quick drop ins. Your dog is important to me. I have a fenced in back yard and two personal dogs who can help keep your fur baby busy if they want to engage. I am always watching the dogs when they are in the yard. Your dog will have access to a safe and clean yard. My yard also offers a ramp for senior dogs. It does have steps at the top and bottom. It offers a safe way for dogs to get into the yard.

About: Pets are the best things in the world! I’ve grown up with my own pets and nothing makes me happier. I have pet sat 30 pets in my time and I’d love to watch yours too! I’ve even fostered 3 dogs in my own home, all of which have been adopted. Adding a pet is just an extra step to everyday routine and I’d love to share all my love with them too! I work full time, but again pets are family! They are something you cater to everyday and make time for no matter what. Everyone has their own needs and so do pets, so I will be make sure they are well taken care off based off each individual need. I have a fenced yard, no other pets in the house (as of now). Depending on the dogs needs/ owners wants I can accommodate to what is needed!

About: I’ve taken care of dogs throughout my entire life, big or small. I’ve cared for family pets and pets of close friends on many occasions. I’m currently not working so I will have an open schedule for the near future. I’m free weekdays, weeknights, and weekends to stop in and play with them! I take time to get to know every animal individually. Every pet has their own little quirks and personality traits that I really enjoy learning about them.

Dawn B.Star Sitter
“Dawn was my next door neighbor for over 20 years and looked after my kids/cats when I traveled. She was always good with the kids and made sure they got their wet food in the morning, the water bowl was filled and the dried food bowls full. As my cats aged, she paid extra attention when she cared for them. She took care of several different cats I have had over the years and all of them were comfortable with her. Dawn has always had cats and/or dogs since I have known her. She is a great mom to them and you can tell loves them. I would take care of them when she traveled and she always left a note with care instructions, I could tell by this how well she cared for them.”

You wouldn’t believe it, but I think she has more energy than the pups!
